  1. Dear Unformed Not only does smokeing the evil weed lead to Harder drugs it also supports terrorism! As proof of the dangers of using one of the devils evil tricks watch the movie "Reefer madness" oh the horror of it all The US gov't wouldn't lie, they are allways right and everyone other country in the world is wrong The good news if I've never witnessed the use of illegal drugs in 30+ years hanging around DZ's on the east & west coast of the US and a few states in between. I wonder if there's a definition of trolling under FAQ. Sorry unformed but you went for the bait, hook line and sinker in my post. I thought the piss test would give it away. I did enjoy your explanation of the fallacy of the Gov't propaganda that the evil weed leads to harder drugs. Shall we move on to caffeine? Befor its 4:20 someplace in the world R.I.P.
  2. One or two people can't do it alone No offense MR Von & HS & Derek. IMO It's going to take a majority of USPA National, regional directors that are commited to the challenge of getting USPA back to working for the jumpers, and encourage the DZO's to start their own organization. I might even rejoin USPA so I could vote if there was something worth voting for. This grass roots effort wouldn't have been possiable before the internet. Challenges can be addressed and changed as long as people will vote and there are people willing to devote their time once they get elected. Time will tell. R.I.P.
  3. Hi Hook IMO There are enough people on DZ.com to change the root of the problem. How? Simple the majority of the people on this site are USPA members they all have the ability to vote and change the good old boy & GMDZ system and elect folks that will stop the illusion created by the USPA GMDZO stamp of approval. Will it happen? probably not most folks just want to jump and go with the flow. R.I.P.
  4. I would not be happy if I had burn holes in my reserve because the rigger was smokeing while packing my reserve. I prefer to use a rigger that uses a checklist when packing my reserve, and that they return the checklist with my rig to insure they didn't forget something. Smoking dope is illegal, immoral, will lead to harder drugs and all that bad stuff, professional riggers wouldn't smoke that shit just in case I require a piss test just to be sure.
  5. Hi WC Next time your at the DZ talk with someone you have confidence in and watch some of the other jumpers in the landing pattern (that know what their doing). Also keep a eye on the windsock when watching the landing pattern. On no wind days someone on the load has to establish a landing pattern it's usually decided prior to boarding the A/C/ If you don't know ask
  6. That's pretty young RIP; were you a Microsoft Samurai or 'ya doing the 5150 thing? Hi Rms Never heard of the 5150 thing. To old for microssoft. To quote a famous old skydiver in response to a T.V. interviewers question if there was anything he wouldn't do. Pappy told me don't shoot heroin or work for the Gov't. I worked for the FEDs Got a early out with 25 yr's service any age. (46Y.O.) reduced annutity. There is no gov't conspiracy, not all gov't employee's are bad people, but if your in the wrong job at the wrong time with the wrong folks, The B.S. can get really deep. No kids, no debts no reason to stay. R.I.P.
  7. Hi Guy's and Dolls Packers need to make a living to you know
  8. Hi PJ & AD - Interesting discussion about what to do to get the most bang for the buck. $4k rig, tandem, video, Aff, coaching, tunnel time, Beer, lift tickets, USPA, reserve repacks, Medical bills and sitting around the DZ.. Vs Buying a fun bike, hitting the open road buy some gas money, mechanic work, Medical bills. So many choices, Mr thinks getting my 15 y.o. gear out of the closest ,cost less than $100 to get back in the air and buy the wife a nice two wheeler for $8-10K. Plus I get to hang on tight for a nice ride. Maybe the best of both worlds.
  9. Yes, it will. The B.S factor in my life went way down went I stopped going to the DZ. Hi Derek I agree when the B.S. factor exceeds the fun factor at the DZ we have control over that.
  10. Hi CX We said no for the same reason. Cessna took off to catch a sucker hole. we caught the hole then it closed and we had no idea where we were. Guy spotting (from a different DZ) tells pilot "90 Rt & cut"My friends start following the idiot out the door and I just sit on my butt and shake my head no way! Everyone climbs back in the plane and we find the DZ 10 minutes later and jump. Playing follow the leader is easy, knowing when to say no is a little harder. R.I.P.
  11. Quote>BTW the movie isn't that old :-) :-) I didn't think so either, but you and I may have a little different perspective. IMO there's a couple of very good things about geting older. We're still alive
  12. Hi Ramjet Got and pictures of "Baby Face" Mr Booth from "back in the day".
  13. Hi Philly & Dave Damn now I'm gonna have to get a bike for the "Boss" (wife). I Hope she doesn't want a sissy bar. I know where to hold on. I was surprided stopped by the local Harley Shop a new 800cc only $8k. Of course the salemen was showing some dude and his babe a big boy bike. "The same one Arnold drove in terminator ?" only $23K. The saleman even let the dude and his babe sit on the bike. We did get a free catalog and parts book to give to the boss.
  14. Hi PhreeZone "Breaking up is hard to do". But eventually every jumper will be faced with making the decision when it's time to pull the plug, either due to safety, politic's, change in prioities etc. Everyone has to listen to that little voice that says this just isn't worth it anymore. It's hard to do but you can always change your mind sometime in the future and work your way back up. R.I.P.
  15. Hi Fred and Lennie Hats off to you on doing the right thing with the security & keeping the locals (non jumpers) in the corral. Good luck R.I.P.
  16. HI Daryl Ditto on waiting, Listen to your folks.
  17. Hi Mr Farrington You need to be worried Maybe you and your staff need to start wearing rubber gloves and cover your tables with plastic covers, use disposable needels on your sewing machines etc when someone sends their rig back in for a tune up. Stay safe and don't forget Monika's dress R.I.P.
  18. HI BSBD Congrats on the daughter's first jump, way to go dad
  19. Hi JRock I never thought I'd be able to say that I agree with Mr Kennedy however this time I'm behind him 100%. Just because someone graduates from a military acadamy doesn't mean they will be "putting their lives on the line". It's does mean that were educated at the taxpayers expense, and once they graduate they automatically become part of the good old boy/girl club, and recieve special privilages dury and after their time in the military. I don't have any problems with officers that can walk the walk and not just talk the talk. For every Graduate from a military academy there are thousands of enlisted swine that actually do the fighting. Sorry to say some of the enlisted folks will lose their lives because of poor leadership by some of the officers you blindly admire. Ruby ridge: Sniper who took out whats his names wife while she was holding her baby a West Point graduate. Air Force acadamy: Rape scandal & coverup. What happened to the perps that were protected by the "chain of command" B.S. West point & Navy acadamy: 2 students (boy friend/girl friend) arrested and convicted of murder they commited befor entering the academy. R.I.P. USAF, enlisted swine, 66-70
  20. They are and some have. Reality is they can only restrict jumpers more than the competing DZ's to a certian extent before they loose so much business they have to close their doors. The margins in this industry (profit) are dismal, and no one want's to chip in and run a club anymore. Pay the light bill anyone? Don't know about perris, big boys and big toy's but in general terms the money in the skydivng industry is in Tandems, AFF & video. Since DZO's cant do everything they need a cadre of worker bees tandems aff vidoe that usually come up from the ranks of the fun jumpers at the DZ. The fun jumpers also put on a show for the amusement riders and their friends. Sadly sometimes the fun jumpers show the whuffo's how much they can get hurt if a tandem goes bad. I would think that a DZ the size of perris could have different programs for the different disciplines of skydiving that are run by responsiable folks. IMO the sport is dangerous enough without haveing mentors who like to take down planes lower than necessary or let folks jump canopies with little margin for error. Just my opinion R.i.P.
  21. Hi Dbattman Think contract addressing all your concerns I would check with a appraiser the county for special requirements a sewer leak into a creek is not good and may require special construction techniques. What other options does the developer have? How much money is he saving by cutting thru your property rather than going to plan B. The city/county planning dept might have some info. I'm not a lawyer but emminent domain is usually a gov't utility thing, Not a developer. Can't he run the sewer parallel to his new road. Shit even flows uphill if it goes thru a pump station $$$. A sewer could open your area into high density housing, traffic etc. Raise the value of your property were you won't be able to afford the property taxes & have to sell. What size sewer the developer talking about installing? 8", 24". Beware! R.I.P.

    Snohomish

Hi Amazon & Cassielou I enjoy reading stories of people getting banned, fired, disgruntled empoyee's etc. I spent 3 wks at a DZ in Florida and a buddy came thru the next day and he told me "R.I.P. they don't want you back". I just laughed and told him "to bad I'm a unhappy customer and already made the decision that I won't be coming back. My wife quit her job at the state womens prison because the people in prison aren't nice and then you have to deal with the inmates. The employee's are total power and control freaks and the inmates have few options. The prison couldn't have one of their employees quitting a desirable cradle to the grave state job, so they started a rumor that my wife was fired. No problem here. Whats the difference between a disgruntled employee and a Mc job? The person who tells the story! The employer or the employee! Unless we're DZ working bee's at a DZ we have every right as a customer to go to whatever DZ will treat us the way we expect to be treated. Just like any customer in any other business except prison or the military. The DZO has every right to run his business the way he/she wants to. If they want to cater to $$$$ tandems and AFF good for them as long as they have the staff to support it. If they can't find a balance between the fun jumpers and Tandems Eventually the fun jumpers will get the message and look for better customer service at another DZ. No wailing, no flailing, no bitching, no name calling. See you later! BTW amazon if you decide to jump at another local DZ let me know whats up. Snohomish was to far north, Kapows future imo may be questionable, Toledo looks a little to far south but Blue sky's might work if they have the good vibes. Might see you there this weekend for the big lift if the weather OK. R.I.P.
  23. Hi Vanillaskygirl Enjoy your cast and the whuffo questions Just try and come up with some of the most B.S. Stories and watch their faces of confusion or disbelief. How you hurt your ankle? Kick boxing Skate boarding Bronco riding Bar fight Kicked dog Wearing high heals R.I.P.
  24. Hi Wlie Rain in the PNW? Don't worry be happy
  25. Hi Lawndart I didn't witness the incident either and my comments are based on the info supplied in the incident report. IMO the reason a lot of folks yell "look out" to people on the ground is because the jumper getting ready to land isn't sure what direction the jumper on the ground is going to start walking, could be back to the packing area, could be in the opposite direction to talk with their friends that were on the same load etc. I agree at some landing area's there shouldn't be any reason for people to land that close to someone else on the ground. At some DZ's everyone wants to land as close to the packing area as possiable, or the peas
