I agree somewhat but also depends on where you jump, how often you jump and how much $$$ you got. tandem masters haul passengers to make cash schools haul students to do the same? (of course i know that any dz benefits if the scholl has a lot of students. but i feel that something valuable is lost if you walk on _this_ way) > IMO Students will be very careful packing their own rig. "Back in the day" of static lines student malfuntions were due more to poor poor body position (reverse arch) than poor packing. Hi quasi Where's Adventure Skydiving located at.? 3 minute video, no Tandem certificate (in color) to hang on your wall. Any other DZ's in your area???. Tandems, Video & AFF bring in the big bucks so the DZ will usually try and give those customers First class service. IMO no pt in complaining. First time shame on them second time shame on you. IMO your incorrect (beat me beat me) If I had kids and had to drive from the north end of the metroplex to the south end to visit them I might not get to see them very often. Remember we previously dicussed getting together for a "Amazon" super lift and you said no problemo just drive on up to "snohomish" . Even for a short, perverted, male who enjoys being tossed around by 6'2" women the drive thru the metroplex just wasn't worth it. So I can understand why your jump buddies are going to stay up north for at least a while nothing personnel its the traffic The good news is we can practice the Amazon super lift without me having to drive to the north end I'm going to get my climbing gear, safety gear, exercise and practice my PLF's just in case these old little bones can't take it. The south end is waiting for the "Amazon" lets pick up the fall rate no one goes low.

Hi Bill I agree with you that this is a very serious subject seeing/reading about folks young and old, some more experienced than others, getting seriously busted up or worse is getting very old. For some unknown reason the GMDZO's/USPA has failed to address this problem. There's a minimum opening altitude for a reason to give a jumper a second chance. I never was a swooper and don't jump anymore but is it even possiable to allow people to jump what they want and stay safe.?The margin for swooping error is minimal maybe even less than a terminal opening at 1000'. I guess the reason the sucessful swoopers can do it on a reguler basis is because they worked they way up over a long period of time and are making a big bunch of jumps/yr to keep their edge. Sad old jokewhen this trend first developed: Who says skydivers are stupid? We invented a whole new way to kill ourselves! At that time I never would have guessed that this crap is still going on. I've read the referenced newpaper article the whistle blower blew it! He broke the law to collect the evidence and the chain of command was a bunch of good old boy's, so the deck was stacked against him. I doubt if he'll win on appeal, the idiot bugged his bosses computer & the Governor doesn't get involved in petty crap he just passes it back to the good old boy's. I started a doomsday file five years befor I retired. After I retired it took 2 yr's but Bingo!. Documentation can work if there are checks and balances and the paper trail is collected in a legal manner.
