QuoteThe Patriot wasn't designed to counter missiles. Just like the Scud, however, it was effective when used in the Gulf War as a psychological weapon. mh Your a wise man author. To bad it also gave a false sence of security to 15-18 national guard/reserves and that were in a barracks in dahran Saudi that got hit by a scud. I know I was a couple 100 yds away and wathed the scud come down. lots of advance notice but we were protected by the patriatic so we didn't need no stinkin low tech bunkers or a whole in the sand. Psychological weapon good, phycological defense sucks like walking intoa machine gun with a plastic key to heaven for defense. R.I.P.

Apparently or reportedly same same. Same as viet nam. We were told lots of stuff that history proved were incorrect. IMO The iraqi battalion isn't there for military reasons but for polical ones to help us win the hearts and mnds of the locals. If i was a Iraqi solider and a american g.i. was willing to die in my place to do my job. I'm really not sure what I'd do. One day the americans will leave iraq and the iraq's that fought with us may find that their neighbor's, rebels, freedom fighters didn't appreciate their bro's helping the occupying forces of the U.S. Saddam is gone let the Iraq's sort out the mess. R.I.P.

Find you a wonderhog or an early version sweethog. Build you a d-bag or use a pod, will fit fine, however you may need to turn it sideways in packtray if using a pod. PODs are cool advertised as areodnamically clean and photo graphicailly unclutterd. Had to get one of those alsofound out didn't have to worry about the top of the sleeve (or was it a sock) rotting off or the sleeve getting caught in a turning slot. R.i.P.

Beware Dave you might get a one way ticket and turned into a sex slave 24/7 until your 60or 70. No time off for skydiving. Maybe plenty of tandems. I hear they like well built blonds with round eyes. Good luck & send us pictures (when your young) R.i.P.

See my post earlier in this thread. I don't think rodeo qualifies as it's own discipline, but I've done my share of them and had a blast. You don't mind being on top do you? Bummer about the rig requirement though...mine was made to fit me perfectly at 6'0". What kind of rodeo you talking about in the air or the sack? I'm just confused not available and wouldn'y survive. SC is fun

Would you snub a fellow skydiver b/c of his politics?
slug replied to Gravitymaster's topic in Speakers Corner
skydivers skydive, as long as you can fly I don't care what you do in the closet of your mind. Politic's religion and borrowing money imo have no place on the DZ. However if your a "radical" or "space cadet" or sicko, I'd rather save my money. Free choice, free country, free speech. R.I.P. -
second hand info" local cop pulled over a guy and saw the CWP when the driver got the drivers liscense out of wallet. Driver was spread eagled on side of road until the police officer was able to verify his personal safety. News report: police stop car with family inside . Pet dog leave car and killed by shot gun blast. Dog was a nice dog. Police officer had to make a quick decision. Family was devasted by loss of gental friendly family pet that was mistaken for pit bull. Police have a tough job and have to deal with all types of people. I'd rather minimize my contact with the police so there aren't any mistakes. R.I.P.

IMO DZ's are for jumping or partying. If you want to talk politic's take it outside. If you want to borrow money or a lift ticket go home. R.I.P. -
Wing loading + pucker factor= Max Enjoy the sport the density of farmer mcnasty's in the land of the big BX, round eye's etc isn't as bad as real military jumps in SEA. You know the ones where you get a star for your jump wings. Didn't see very many of those, stars back in the day. You #1 G.I.

Well I had a friend in NYC who carried his auto at a hi state of ready. Went to school. One day he left it at his girlfriends house by accident and she had a little kid. If the kid found it and pulled the trigger Bang My friend was very concerned and lucky. Wa state has a very liberal gun law, no felony or involuntary mental commitment, back ground check, $45 a couple of weeks your good to go. A friend got his liscense to carry in tacoma which has a high gang population. While waiting in line to fill out his app. He said that almost half the guy's in line wore red bandanas (bloods) and the other half wore blue bandana's (crips). FWIW Bloods and Crips are rival gangs and don't like each other but they can get a CWP as long as they have a clean record. The DC sniper obtained his AR-15 that was last seen on the shelf in a gun store in Tacoma. After the FEDs tracked the gun down to the store the owner was surprised to find out the rifle was missing. A inventory of the store found that 250 guns were unaccounted for. Eventually the store owner lost his FFL and sold the store to a friend. a couple of month's ago the late owners insurance company paid $2,000, 000 in claims to some of the victims and the gun manufator (bushmaster) paid $500,000 for gun education purposes. Last month the ex gunstore owner was charged with failure to file federal income tax returns for a number of years. Guns don't kill peope , People do. The FFL system works if the liscense holder is a responsiable person. In washington state ther is very little gun related crime because antone can be packing. But the gun laws that are on the books need to be enforced. How can a gun store lose track of 250 guns and stay in business. BTW ATF knew the gun store had a record keeping problem prior to the incident in washington D.C. For more info try a google on Tacoma Wa. the store name is the Bullseye and has a indoor range. R.I.P.

. Do you support bigamy? How about a bi-sexual bigamy where people of all sexual persuations are allowed to marry multiple partners? If so, at what point do you stop calling it marriage and refer to it as hedonism? Yes I do as long as all partners consent and can leave when they want and have the skills to support themselves in the same standard of living. Hedonism? Personnel choice as long as no one is hurt. Reprobate? I rather be a hedonist.

Is there a difference between a lie and a spin? Whats the difference between a lie and a joke? The vote was 402 to 2 = .49751 % voted in favor of the draft. IMO that's a joke

Hi SM Assuming your not concerned about needing your stuff right away. How about disassembling what you got into pieces and puting them pieces in different locations in your car while transporting. I'm not a lawyer but imo your just transporting gun parts, and ammo. A added benifit is if/when someone breaks into. or steals your car all they got is a car with a bunch of gun parts. Hmmm might be no law about carrying a critical part in your pocket. Slide, or whatever. If you know your going to need it assembled deal with the law later it will be the least of your problems. I don't think Mr Mcveigh was executed for carrying a conceled weapon, just arrested. R.I.P. BTW: Going to Canada leave everything at home. Unless you want to try body cavities.

what are some of the pros and cons of aad? new to the sport
slug replied to treeman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Sundevil From what I've seen (haven't jumped in 2-3 yr's) the reason people were dumping high was because they felt it was safer and gave them more time to think about what to do in case they had a mal. IMO With the operating range of the cypress the jumpers opening at 3.6 or 4k aren't worrying about having 2 out. They just think opening at 2k isn't safe due to their confusion of the reaction time required to handle a mal. R.I.P. Have you hugged your kids today? You lucky man
