  1. It's not about deterrence. It's about punishment. LWOP is punishment LWOP for 20 yr's and Death is revenge. The american way is the only way. Love it or leave it. As you were R.I.P.
  2. Affirmative Bottom line everything is politic's and the other party's at fault. No wonder a FUBAR As you were Left wing right wingliberalcons how can you expect the three different groups in Iraq to work things out. We can't do it in the US or SC. R.I.P.
  3. Hi Zenister Lets try and make this political That cut and paste crap your quoting from aint worth the toilet paper it's written on. Because it comes from the commie liberal bush bashing media and we can't believe any of that crap (toilet paper) that those guy write.Just because they write it don't mean it's true I'm not going to believe anything unless I see it with my own eye's or the neo cons. pentagon says it true Rummy's the main man he's says it you better believe it We want to see 100% execution with zero negative indicator's and if you can't deliver we don't want to hear about it. Don't confuse the issue with the facts.Just complete the report with your yes stamp. The No stamp is missing until further notice. As you were. R.I.P.
  4. Hi PJ Tuna IMO Tuna just likes to be "outstanding" so he does his thing. Talk is cheap, but it serves tuna's objective. Tuna Mission accompished
  5. Hi CSB I'm wondering who would be willing to step up and try and turn this thing around. I don't see a solution except sending in more troops but if they don't have the right equipment whats the point? We're stuck with a mess. The only thing that is left to do IMO is put a spin on it, Democratic election pull put the troops out claim a success and don't look back R.I.P.
  6. Alright then, how about this. The war started in March 2003 - we are about to hit the two year mark. How much more time is needed to ramp up production? How many more billions are needed? Sounds like someone in the DOD needs to learn how to use Quickbooks. Maybe we can pay a little less to Haliburton or refuse their jacked up prices so our troops can get what they need? I don't think we'll ever find out why the pentagon failed to put the armor procurement on the fast track. They do have special powers during a war. I don't agree with the use of company's like Haliburtan in a war zone. But based on their job order contract if they had been tasked with supplying the armor ASAP their procurement folks would have gotten it done before now. At additonal cost of course Haliburton can't work for free. But whats the value of your life and limb. R.I.P.
  7. Because the correct punishment was handed down. I am always happy to see scumbag, murdering assholes die. Tuna Negative Sorry to bust you bubble but you won't get to see him die. If you live long enough you can read about the guy execution, muderer, or death from natural causes in the newspaper, net, martians. $$$$$ Let the appeals begin. Care to predict how long it's going to take to go thru the appeal process. Don't know how old you are but I might die from old age first. R.I.P.
  8. Affirmative (military lingo for we agree) R.I.P.
  9. Wouldn't that pretty much be what he probably would ahve done if you move this scene to LA? let's say he was a cop and had a little gang shootout with some kids. One gets stuck in a burning truck, heavily wounded. You would be ok with the cop being a doctor (deciding he could not medically be saved) and judge and jury and executioner? Of course not the cop would have followed dept procedures and called the fire trucks and the EMT's. Hopefully he would have waited in his car with the radio turned up so he didn't have to listen to the screams while waiting for the rescue people get there to late. R.I.P. R.I.P.
  10. I'm waiting for the "Rest of the Story" I'm surprised Clinton didn't nominate him. I thought the Libs believed a persons private life wasn't important and had no bearing on their ability to do their job? Why don't we hear the same outcry from the Left in support Kerik at the same level as their defense of Clinton? Ummm, maybe because Clinton's job wasn't specifically to oversee control of blow jobs. Why don't we hear the same outcry of denouncements from the right against Kerik as their attacks on Clinton? Politic's again Bottom line the guy was a Bum the nanny storry was a smoke screen for the rest of the story. According to the congress people intervied on T.V. a FBI background check isn't initiated until after the appointee is selected. The FBI had just started scratching the service of the sewer when the when the unqualified canidate with a questionable past withdrew his name from consideration. The nanny story was a token execuse that would have done the least damage to the guy's reputation. R.I.P.
  11. Completely disagree. He made a wrong desision taking a human life in no-combat situation. Ok your correct so the soldier should have walked away and let the kid burn to death. R.I.P.
  12. What if 450 is the correct level of planning and upping production to 550 is just public relations as a direct result of the forum comments? That would equal unnecessary spending. Of course the supplier will go on record in a position which will increase their profits. Briliant move. Most of the lefties will have a hard time here - who do they hate more, the government or a military contractor? All these postings assume "more is better". Typical. Why should that be correct vs just working to the plan? Sorry my posting is based on supporting our troops so the won't get hurt because their riding in a tin can.Politic has nothing to do with it Rummy told the troops that the armored Humvees were being produced at the max rate. A increase of 22% in production isn't close to max rate. Rummy screwed up he should have said I'll look into it and get with you. Then he would have gotten the credit for the increase in rate of production. The total number of heavy humvees ordered hasn't changed just the rate of production. The increase in the production rate will require a change to the origional contract due to the aditional cost of labor (overtime). The contractor's cost will increase so his profit will also go up but the percentage will stay the same. Don't have a clue of labor costs vs material costs. Politic's card: left right who's the prick in the middle R.I.P.
  13. Having worked directly for General Whitcomb, I can tell you that he is not a smoke blower... If Rummy asked him how his new suit looked, and he was naked, Whitcomb would tell him he was soup sandwich...Quote Hmm I've been in meetings with generals where they had a bird colonel carry their eveglasses and briefcases for them. Before the meetings started the Colonel would survey the room and place the generals eyeglasses in fromt of a strategic seat and the brief case on the chair. You may have worked with the General but unless you had a slot on the signature ladder of his coresspondence or was present during his meetings with his bosses (possiable) maybe there a difference between what he said he said and what really happened. R.I.P.
  14. QuoteAh.. I see. The old "all Generals and anyone who has anything to do with the Bush Administration are nothing but a bunch of liars who will say and do anything to cover their ass and that of their boss". Quote The generals are not political appointee's so please don't play the politic's card, their career professional soliders. After a election their bosses might change but they still have a job. R.I.P.
  15. I don't understand where you get the idea the armor isn't being supplied. Apparently it is being supplied as quickly as it can be manufactured.Quote In your previous post there's the following statement "Armor Holdings (AH:NYSE) said it could boost its output of "up-armored" Humvees by as much as 22 percent per month to 550 from 450" This increaseof 22% in the rate of production from what I'm hearing was never discussed until after Rummy was put on the spot at the town hall meeting. Also this doesn't mean that the army isn't increasing the total number of Humvee's ordered just the numbered that would be delivered/month. The cost of level one vichical is labor, materials, over head and profit. If the acelerated delivery rate results is achieved then the only increase in cost would be OT for labor. So I don't think the shortage of armored Humvees is a money problem but a failure to communicate between the buyer (pentagon) and supplier (Armor Holding). IOW A FUBAR by a REMF Anything the General says is suspect because if asked he's by Rummy how his new suit looks he's not going to tell Rummy (the king) that he's not wearing any cloth's. Not a smart move for career advancement. OTOH the G.I. who Discussed the problem at the town hall meeting had nothing to lose by putting rummy on the spot he was going to Iraq, and wasn't a career officer who was looking forward to his next promotion. In the future i suspect to prevent a repeat of this embarasing the Sec of the Def there won't be any more taped town hall mtgs. or all questions will be submitted in advance in writing thru official channels, or there will be some ringers in the audience with the Questions that rummy wants to hear. Rummy wants 100% execution with Zero negative indicator and asks the General how thing are going "Wonderful sir". R.I.P.
  16. Skr Your still the man! IMO seat packs, pilot rigs, Bailout rigs, were by their very function Reserve chutes. even todays figher pilots only have one chute. The picture's that i've seen of the German paratroopers during WW2 exiting the plane only had a main. I've heard that american solders when making a combat jump 2-300ft reserves are optional (i believe it) But when the WW2 american parartrooper were making their practice jumps in the US at 1000' were they wearing Reserves? Any really old farts (like older than dirt) remember what the trained with. A army historian or reenactor would do in a pinch. Skr we're just old farts "older than dirt" is really really old[
  17. Ok I'll try and explain. During the late 60's we were in the air force and flew with a guy who almost got in in serious trouble for shooting some VC who got onto the airfield and had bown the nose off three c-130's and his was next in line. My Buddy the FLT Engr and the co pilot killed the VC and jumped in the plane and took off. When they landed the MP's were waiting to arrest them because they killed the VC with hollow point bullets which is against the Geneva convention. The person who turned these guy's in for killing the enemy with hollow point bullets during a war was a army lieut who saw the bodies on the ramp and decided that wasn't killing fair Like a head shot is ok but a hollow pt isn't and the VC had satchel charges so if they didn't die quick they could still ignite the thing. In Iraq according to the story I read was the Guy who pulled the trigger had three choices. 1) Do nothing and listen to the iraqi scream while he burns to death. IMO not a nice way to go. From what I read the guy was traped in the wreckage. 2) Call 911 and wait until the fire is put out so the medics could try and save a dead man. 3) Or put the poor human being out of his extra 2 minutes of misery. a) The media has to do their job b) The iraqi's have to do what they think is right c) The guy who could hear the iraqi and smell and smell his burning flesh made a decision. So who reported the guy? a) That's their job b) maybe they didn't know what the options were. c) Some G.I. who thought the guy who pulled the trigger made the wrong decision. Is the G.I. who pulled the trigger being used to win the hearts and minds of the Iraqi's or set a example for the other troops so that they will wait for a offical decision from the chain of command (let the guy burn to death) We weren't there but the guy got a slap on the wrist what does that tell you? I don't second guess people that are in stressful war time situations. R.I.P.
  18. Hi CBS Can you find out from your buddy who turned the guy's in. R.I.P.
  19. GW wasn't my first choice either but he's what we got. So lets leave politics and i told you so out of it. If GW can pull this thing off good for him and us. If not he'll go down in history as a bum. Maybe if Rummy went over to Kuwait/iraq every couple of weeks for a town hall meeting with the troops the pentagon could figure out how to get the job done.
  20. Once someone asked the question the military had to come up with a answer they couldn't give the guy a walk (PR) so he got slapped. Any intell who turned the guys in R.I.P.
  21. Reread the origional post from MR Kennedy The police that used "questionable" police procedure's were rehirded with back pay but then they were reasinged to Jail duty A street cop on jail duty Don't think they will make it to retirement unless therie very close or their lawyer helps them out.
  22. This guy went from a street cop to police commisoner of NYC in 15 yr's. You don't go that far that fast by "keepng your nose clean". Brown nose maybe. He's a business partner with the ex mayor Mr G. R.I.P.
