  1. ------------------------------------------------------- It seems like that Coolidge DC-4 held 120 jumpers. I made many many jumps from it in the early 80s They used it to haul frozen fish during the season in Alaska then we go it during the off time. Nice airplane bozo Hi Jimbo http://www.boeing.com/history/mdc/dc-4.htm Interesting history Clicky? R.I.P.
  2. Hi acme ""The owner of the local Rainbow factory called me back about an hour ago. He said that at the time I purchased my system, they found several deficiencies in required buyer education from the install and sales team at that time. Apparently the ropes were not the only issue customers were calling about; apparently you are only supposed to tighten bolts that are color coded red or blue annually. The others you are not to touch, their service techs are the only ones authorized to change/adjust those."" In my opinion rainbo is giving you a snow job the problem isn't in the consumer not reading the instuctions it's in the lack of a suitable design at the rope attachment point. IOW a defect produced by the manufactor. Law rocket where are you ""Ahh nevermind, it's just been one of those days. "" You got the pics don't stop now, do the right thing (the manufactor isn't losing any sleep that some little kids are going to get hurt due to theeir error) Send your concerns to the consumer product safety commision so they can encourage the manufactor to communicate with their customers (bad for businees) about this defect. The life you save may be a kids
  3. Hi GM Might depend Was this their first date Wonder if the dude died with a smile on his face (heart attack) or it was just a date gone bad. Losing you life trying to get laid is dumb enough But a horse He's never going to live this down, and the horse may lose her/his stall in the barn. R.I.P. R.I.P.
  4. Lots. Vancouver is a very nice town BTW. Been there? If not, how do you get your "pissant town" reference? Hi MC Some people probably don't understand the financial avantages of living in Vancouver Wa. No state income tax in Wa state, and no sales tax across the state line in oregon
  5. Hi SB I've never heard of anyone pulling this crap but based on this thread it's obviouly happened more than once When someone sneaks on the airplane for their first jump do they still feel the "need for speed" and want to tack the FJC or continue jumping? I can imagine a airborne army type doing a surprise jump but a virgin leg would be kind of risky. I can imagine the DZO/pilot being Don't think I'd stay for the derief R.I.P.
  6. Hi 377 I'm still kicking myself for missing out on the chance to jump the connie at the WFFC in 94 (wind). But we did get some nice pics of it on the ground IMO The lines on that airplane are beautiful with the triple vertical stabilizers, long slim body, ...... excuse me got to go to the bathroom. Where was I Anyway just seeing the bird n person is a treat
  7. Hi Snowwhite Say what In hind sight letting the locals into the WFFC at Quincy had some unforseen consequences. Be carfull what you wish for. Sometimes no news is good news. R.I.P.
  8. There's more than one way to skin a cat The mayor of Vancouver Wa. got national press for the price of two coffee mug's. That's cost effective use of the cities advertising budget. R.I.P.
  9. Now let's give the younger generation credit; It took them years of research and development to perfect these new techniques! Hi True But they had to find a way to hurt themselves even with: AFF, a open canopy, AAD, RSL, pro track, full face helmets, booties, packers, wind tunnels, internet, coaching, USPA and all that $$$$. R.I.P.
  10. Hi John Your right But it is very . They stopped discussing the origional topic on the first page. But what the hell it's SC so carry on folks R.I.P.

  14. Did they ever exist? I've not been in the sport long enough to comment, but I'd guess not... Hi dino Nothing personnel Bingo we have a winner!!!!!! Unless your kidding you have just expresed the root of the problem, confusion etc that everyone has been argueing about for the last couple of days in various threads & forums. IMO we're talking about skydive 101. It's not your fault that you didn't recieve the right training, or that some of the DZO's don't enforce the basic's. to bad so sad Lets learn something from the incidents so they don't happen again. No telling how many canopy collisions or near miss's have happened befor now. R.I.P. R.I.P.
  15. Hi Cheese Glad to hear the family is OK
  16. Hi Some of us don't mind playing with our nickel
  17. Hi Skr >>I have no idea how to break the cycle, DZOs, S&TAs,USPA, gear sellers, experienced jumpers ... the people with the power to set trends ...>> "Back in the day" Some folks would do low pulls for grins, but from what I heard & saw the DZO's would step in a put a stop to it. One warning The DZO's can do the same thing with canopy flying. Reading the thread about the latest canopy collision tells me there's a big problem with the DZO's not enforceing the DZ rules relateing to landing direction. The DZO's cash flow has been improved by the tandems gear rental etc, and their safety job has been made a little harder due to the difffernt size of canopy's, swooping etc. The DZO's need to wake up, bite the bullet and find a way to correct the problem. Just like they did with seat belts, except this time without the FAA forceing them to do it. R.I.P.
  18. We heard that some of the employers had to fly in the worker bee's daily due to the high cost of living R.I.P.

  20. I didn't get any stinkin' silver wings after five jumps. I had to make a thousand freakin' jumps before I got any wings. I'm gonna write the USPA and demand my silver wings! When did they start this award program? Hi John What do you expect, She's a babe & looks damn good for 91 years old.
