Some people are really shallow. I think if you are so uncomfortable with your body that you feel it must be fixed, well, then go ahead and "fix" it. But, if at all possible, accept & embrace what you were given and don't fall into the plastic surgery trend. I think it is quite disgusting that people alter their bodies the way they do, just to fit in. If you are super fat and want lipo to start over because you are unhealthy at that weight, (and do plan on keeping healthy after surgery), that's one thing... but to go injecting collagen, and stuffing bags of silicone inside of you for cosmetic purposes is just sick, imo. It's sad that society has led people to believe that they must fit a certain mold to be considered beautiful. We are all different and unique, i'm glad I don't look like everyone else. Angela.

Cool. I don't have the best landing pattern, anyhow, so I can use help with that. It will be nice to get some input on my technique, and some stuff to practice on after that. I can't see how it wouldn't be beneficial as no one has given my any input on my canopy ctrl to this point. I weigh in at about 125, so a 150 canopy is probably 1:1 wingloading. I am comfortable with trying it out. I certainly don' t plan on trying any low to the ground turns, or anything outrageous on it until I know what i'm doing. I do appreciate the concern, of course. I will not be downsizing from there, I will be buying a 150sf canopy. Thanks again guys ! Angela.

You can't be serious!! A RIG! Who needs boobs? I don't have any! haha. Plus, I hate the whole fake thing, I think being natural is much more beautiful. :) Angela.

um,k. But, why would anyone carry a flag? I don't get it Glad he enjoyed it . Seems he should have time.. ya know, being single and all Angela.

I'll try that with the brakes. Also, how would I get a feb/mar issue of the magazine? I will certainly heed bikerbabe's advice, tho. Although i'm generally not one to get stage fright, I can understand getting it in front of these greats of canopy ctrl... but, i'm sure they see people worse than me, and am not trying to conceal my weaknesses. I mean, recognizing my weak points is going to be critical when it comes to improving them, so how can I be embarrassed about them? I will do what I know how to, that is really all that can be done short of practice and reading in the meanwhile. Thanks again! Angela.

whatever, man. We don't skin animals alive here (to the best of my knowledge), it is plain cruel. Angela. -
2 months this Saturday. Hey, cool, more of a reason to celebrate, haha! Lots of cool memories in only 2 months. First time I was off of AFF and did my first high solo. I realized that I could do anything I wanted, so I did tracking, flips, tracking with barrel rolls, it was awesome! I felt so free. :) When I downsized to a Sabre II 170sf canopy from a Sabre 190. It was so neat. I looked up, and it seemed so small. And, the toggle turns were super responsive, and I was going fast (at least compared to the 190)! It was really cool! Now i'm trying to sit fly, when I finally get it, THAT will be cool! Angela.

Wow, looks like he had a blast!! You think he's gonna go back for another? What was his take on it? Why did you have to do a demo with a flag and land in a cornfield? I don't get it? . ! Angela.

Hi, Steve! Thanks so much for the study tips. I will look into them most certainly. I read all of the canopy articles in the link I posted, are there more on the pd website? That's definitely a good idea to see how much alti I lose performing different maneuvers, I will give that a try. I think i'll make my first jump on the 150 canopy a hop-n-pop from alti. Yes, they are bad ass! I have had the pleasure of watching 2 swoop competitions in z-hills, and i'll be up in Deland to see the one they are holding on the 4th of October, as well. I'm quite excited! It'll be an awesome trip; swooping & free beer on Saturday, then canopy control lessons on Sunday. I'm hoping Sunnydee123 will come along! :) (Yep, 'twas you who told me to contact her, right? She's an awesome chick, very focused yet relaxed, and all around a pleasure to hang with.) Cool you got a new canopy:) Mind if I ask what you are switching from and to? I've heard good things about hooknswoop. I'll most certainly let you know how my course with Scott goes. I'm very excited and privileged to be able to spend the day soaking up the knowledge he has to offer. :) Thanks again! Angela.

I'm trying to schedule a canopy ctrl class with Scott Miller for Oct 5th. I have 26 jumps thusfar. I just got my A license. I downsized to a Sabre II 170 from a 190 canopy and am very comfortable with the landings i've gotten on both. I would still like to go a bit faster, so i'm going to try a 150 this Saturday at z-hills to see if I like it and feel comfortable on it. I figure on making 5 or 6 jumps on Sat. Anyhow, I am wondering how to make the most out of this class. I know that i'll get a lot out of it as he's a super awesome canopy pilot and teacher so far as i've heard. But, I would like to prepare myself in the coming weeks so that I can really maximize what I can take in from the instruction. I've read the articles on the PD website (http://www.performancedesigns.com/education.asp), any other recommended reading? Also, do I make lots of hop n pops? Should I make some from altitude to practice stuff? What should I try to pull off in air? Practice flat turns, riser turns, etc? Practice coming out of a hard turn? What can I focus on here that will benefit me? I have 3 weekends between then and now. I want to buy a rig soon, so I would really like to get good at canopy control and know what size canopy i'm looking for. Any tips are helpful. Thanks so much:) Angela.

I wanna be a swooper!
SkydiveNFlorida replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I am currently working out scheduling canopy coaching with Scott Miller, hopefully this will be the first wknd of Oct after the swoop meet. So, if you toss a hat that high, you can actually go fast enough to catch it? I think i'll try that. :) thx! Angela. -
(((huggsss))) I'm very much appreciative for everything around me. Life is awesome! Much respect and gratitude for the troops and fallen men as well. Thanks for posting, Dee! It's sure nice to have each other:) Angela.

I'm really bad at saving $$.. . and prioritizing expenses. I'm really bad at remembering jokes/telling jokes. I'm a poor liar, so I don't even try. I'm bad at going the speed limit *sigh*. I'm bad at sitting still and being quiet, this includes watching movies. I'm pretty darn bad at Calculus due to the fact that i'm very bad at sitting still and studying (see above). Angela.

Naaah, not too hard. I work 'til midnight and make it to the dz on Sat & Sun. :p Angela.

I'm good at helping people. I like to help people in class when I can, I also like to help out on the coral reef forums when i'm not PWing on dz.com . I also think i'm really good at reef keeping. I am really good at criticizing myself, especially when it comes to school work and to new hobbies n stuff (skydiving). I'm really good at socializing. I also like to think i'm a pretty good cook:) Angela.

I agree with the balance ball routines. I love the balance ball and it definitely makes me feel more in shape when i'm doing routines regularly! Funny, looks like a joke at first glance, but do a day or two and you'll see it isn't as easy as it looks. Angela.

Hey, man, that is messed up! ! You know, it is possible to not fit into one particular catagory. My house is generally clean, but cluttered with paperwork, though my temporary roommates are making the clean part harder to maintain... prior to that, I found that absence promoted cleanliness:p I love to come home to a clean house. My car is a wreck filled with school papers and receipts. I have one of those small rat-sized dogs. I do not know anyone who burys things in the backyard, though I have been known to throw out perfectly good dishes that are discovered in the fridge since i'd rather not know what is in them. And, I most certainly sit on the toilet seat in my own home. (Of course I am not going to sit on a public toilet seat, eeww). If you cannot aim w/in the bounds of the seat, lift it up, and don't forget to put it back down cuz if I wake up to pee in the middle of the night and fall in, you're really gonna hear it! Most of the men i've dated have not painted the best picture for you all, either, btw. Angela.

Ever jump while you're sick?
SkydiveNFlorida replied to charleslittle's topic in Safety and Training
I went up a couple weekends back even though I was still a bit congested. I took 4 sudafed non-drowsy over the course of a couple hrs, then when I felt better, I made jumps. All was well thankfully. Not saying this is adviseable. Sometimes i'm not too bright Angela -
Any pix in those tweed pants and that stained soccer shirt? heehee. :) I actually never had a sense of style. I get dressed up now and again to go out on the town, but day to day I am no trend-setter. I almost exclusively shop on sale racks (75% off at dillards mainly). I never wear any makeup except for special occassions which are few and far between. I have long hair, but generally wear it up because it is easier that way and I don't have time to be combing it all day. I have a thousand lotions and potions, but when it comes to style, I just don't have it. . . And i'm only 22, so don't feel bad. Angela.

Unless you wear a T-shirt that reads: "Being a tramp is my bag, baby." LOL!!! You're a riot, Jess! Angela.
