off topic, but FYI- SoBe is not in West Palm. Pahokee is the name of the town. MIght mislead some travelers who read this and try to take a cab from the airport to the DZ, in for a rude awakening! SoBe/Pahokee is about 40 mins from West Palm AIrport. True. Guess I just bunch the area together, but I understand they are not one in the same. I didn't mean to mislead. Just out of curiousity, do you like parapak, or are you a die hard cordura fan? I was worried when I bought my used rig which is parapak, because my rigger said it isn't as durable, which I can't argue with, it is even apparent looking at it. But, it has such an AWESOME color! You just can't get this color with cordura! I think if I ordered a brand new rig tomorrow, it would be parapak, and i'd just be careful to keep it clean and well cared for. What do you guys think? thoughts/opinions? Angela.

I agree that simple can also be good. Although, not too plain. I bought a used rig, it is monotone, but is is a very bright purple which was kind of the selling point for me, after I tried it on, it was over.. I love it! :D Good luck on your design. If you like asymmetry, go with that. It's your rig, and if you're planning to keep it a while, go with what you want; screw resale! (it'll probly sell anyhow, I wouldn't worry too much) Angela.

flyangel, I don't cook mine breast down because the skin doesn't crisp nicely that way. But, I generally cover the turkey in cheesecloth and foil for most of the cooking. Regularly basting & injecting, the cheesecloth seems to hold more moisture and keep the breasts moist. then, at the end, I remove the cheesecloth for like the last hour or so and continually baste with butter to crisp. Of course, all times depend on size of the bird. But, i've had meat from turkeys baked breast down and they have also been very good. I just really like skin, hehe. :) Angela

Can you do tunnel time freeflying without having to do bellyflying first. I remember someone mentioned possibly having to do a bunch of bellyflying and back flying in order to freefly, and for me, it just isn't worth it to spend the $$ flying on my belly in the tunnel when that is not what i'm working toward right now. I just want to say that i've been to 4 Florida dropzones and have no idea of what you heard, but if it is bad, it is likely not true. Some people probably try to make other places look bad to favor their own home dz, but in reality, you need to take the time to visit them before forming an opinions based on the opinions of others. I loved Sebastian when I jumped there. I loved Deland when I vacationed there. I thought Z-hills was one of the most awesome places i'd been to when I visited there. And, now I jump in Pahokee, a dz that just opened in West Palm, and it is, well, AWESOME! I love it there. Take the time to visit these and other dzs, don't believe everything you hear. ' I, too, am curious as to what effects this will have on Sebastian's dz. I have heard many saying nothing's changing, etc, etc. But, this is the first time i've read this article and it seems there will be changes. I wonder what they've done thusfar. If they've quoted Vic as saying it is bad for business, then how can anyone say it won't have an effect? Best of luck to them. Angela.

um, try again. This is simply not true. swoopers are in 'drastic' turns, aren't they? You can recover from a drastic turn by flattening it out with opposite toggle, can't you? I'm not an expert, either. I only have 70 jumps and that aint shit. But, I think that making statements like these is asking for it. Where do you get this from? Most of the deaths I see are not experienced hot-headed swoopers, but rather people who make simple mistakes, or decide too late to turn, or hit someone else under canopy because they were unaware of their surroundings. Anything can happen to anyone. You cannot classify that most of the deaths related to this sport are from show offs. And, know that you have no idea how you'll react to a given situation until it occurs. So, doing something 'dumb' is not that far fetched. Also, sometimes things are unavoidable. What if someone crashes into you and collapses your canopy at 75 feet? Guess what, you didn't have to be doing anything dumb for this to happen. Other peoples stupidity CAN kill you.
