I e-mailed the Firefly about 2 weeks ago and never got a reply. I've decided to find another place to get ff pants. Unfortunate that this is the case, I heard some great things about their stuff on here, and really wanted a pair of ff pants from them. I refuse to harrass someone to take my $$, tho. Angela.

swooping & freeflying, baby! I'd like to make some base jumps eventually... i'm not ready yet, tho. Angela.

ok, that's that. If he asks, i'll just tell him I answered a question, didn't realize what was going on, and apologize. Whoa, man, .. glad that isn't me (I mean, of course, i'm not a guy, and don't have kids, and in all likelyness if I did have kids and was divorced, i'd be on her end of things, so I can't relate with him. ) Angela.

I don't know, really. I don't have 1600 skydives or an rsl or skyhook. But, here are my thoughts. You have a cutaway or two, you don't pull the reserve handle because you have rsl/skyhook/whatnot. You have some work done to your rig, .. you borrow someone elses rig. . Now, jumping this new rig/canopy... you go on a ff dive and break a little low. You get into a spinning line twist. Oh, no! better cutaway! So, you do, and you are so used to not pulling the reserve, now you've not even thought to do it. Oh, shit, i'm still falling, pull reserve. . . Hopefully the end of this scenario is an opened reserve above your head in a safe place to land it. But, these precious seconds are just that, precious. Now, if you'd not ever cutaway, maybe you'd have been better with emergency procedures than had you had cutaways you neglected to pull the reserve handle on. just my thoughts. angela.

I think I just got this guy in trouble. The security guard walks back here with two children asking for an associate. I walk them back to the front and tell the wife that he's at Gatsby's grill (employees all went tonight for food & drinks). Turns out she's an ex-wife, and an angry one at that. Asks my name, gets him on the phone and starts bitching. Um, oops. Then she proceeds to tell me how he'd rather drink than see his kids he was supposed to have for the weekend, and that she's taking them home. what am I supposed to say to this guy now? I thought this info was harmless, but I didn't realize I might get someone in trouble. Angela.

There is a suggestion in the suggestion forum. I posted to it. I think that even just a separate forum set up for people to post good/bad experiences would be good. Angela. -
Love you, too, Katie! (damn, it's colder in this computer room than outside! ) Angela.

What do you want to be when you grow up? ?
SkydiveNFlorida replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in The Bonfire
You know, when you can say something like that, you're doing awesome! I feel the same way sometimes. I have so much debt, so little freetime out of work & school... but, I wouldn't trade now for anything. I am learning so much in school. Doing better than I ever thought I could. I make myself very proud. . . and, my sit-fly is coming along pretty nicely, too:D Angela. -
Or, you could cook the ... err, nevermind. Angela.

What makes a skydiver a skydiver? AKA be nice to the tandems
SkydiveNFlorida replied to Brian425's topic in The Bonfire
I'm still an aff student. On my level 3, on the release I went into a spin that I couldn't stop. My JM could not re-dock with me. I was on my own. Once under canopy, my radio failed, I was on my own and I landed not only in one piece, but within 50 yards of the target. I may have been a student, but trust me, my life was in my hands. Chris I hear ya,... and I don't doubt that if you could've jumped alone you would have,... but you were still in the JMs hands, or so you thought, when you left that plane. I have no doubt that you'll be making more skydives, so i'd call you a skydiver... Not that i'm really one to judge, I am just a baby to this sport myself. These are just my opinions & thoughts... and since you replied to them, I figure i'd do the same:) Take care and heal well. Angela. -

SkydiveNFlorida replied to Brian425's topic in The Bonfire
If you have to question whether or not you will go back up once healed, then no, you're not a skydiver yet. Sorry you got hurt, but I can tell you for certain that if I get hurt, and heal enough to be physically able to skydive again, that's exactly what i'll do. And, I can say that without a doubt. Angela. -
Well, it's cold as hell here, too!! It's gotta be, what, like 72f out??? Angela.

I may not make the most $$ in the world, but I LOVE MY JOB! I just got back from Gatsby's Grill... the managers paid for everyone in IT to go out, drink, eat & be merry. I only had one beer, since I had to come back to work... but, they paid me to go out and eat. mmm, fried calamari, grilled wings, spinach dip, califoria rolls, southwestern egg rolls, portabello & sun-dried tomato pizza... and there was more I couldn't even get to. Beer was also good:) And now, since the semester is over, I get to come back here and slack while I earn $$ for jumps:D life is good! Angela.

I had inquired on a container at one point and the person's dz sent it to me to check it out. It didn't fit, I sent it back. No problems. I just purchased a helmet from the classifieds,... it hasn't arrived yet, but should be here next week. I am sure it will be in good order, and the person I bought it from seemed like a nice guy and posts often on the forums. I don't know if i'd personally trust sending $$ to someone that wasn't a poster on the site,... 100$ is 100$ when you're not rich (like me). It isn't like e-bay,... you have some assurance there I believe. Angela. -
I didn't believe you... part of me wanted to, but I knew of 3 questions i'd certainly gotten wrong... I am quite in awe of this. I generally don't work to hard and just get 'b's... so when i'd really worked for this and thought i'd gotten a 'b', I just wanted to cry. Now I still want to cry, but out of sheer happiness! Thanks so much to you all for the hugs & vibes! :D Angela.

Painting Helmet - Good or Bad Idea?
SkydiveNFlorida replied to sunnydee123's topic in Gear and Rigging
Awesome job, Denise! I really like white helmets, but the yellow is really cool, too. Looks very professional:) I thought you had stenciled that stuff, I can't believe you can right so nicely. I only wish I could do that! See you very soon! :D Angela. -
At least wait until after she talks to the owner... maybe she can get this straightened out. I really can't believe they just threw it away, and didn't even contact you! I could understand if there was no contact info, but seriously! Angela.

Well, I can't believe it, but I GOT AN A!!! I went to the teachers office today, and I got an 87% on the exam, which gave me a 90 in the class,... I juuuust made it! I am SO happy I could cry! On top of that, all your hugs and vibes may have really helped me get through my chem test today. I am most certain that I got a 'b' on that exam, so i'll keep my 'b'! :D Thanks! Angela .

Shit! You mean if I keep putting this off i'll end up owning a gear store, hanging out with cool peeps all day, making skydives when I please, and deeming 12:30pm beer-thirty if I want? Oh, no.. I better decide quick, cuz that would be pure misery! Angela.
