Awesome... Thanks for the cheers. Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

Well, I'm toasted now. I didn't want to be, but all the forum reading and video watching has me still up at 0100hEDT. As long as I'm here already I might as well have one more beer before bed. Seems like eventually I'll be rotating the three-rings in my sleep. If there's any addiction to this sport I'd say I've got it. Anybody with me on the last beer? Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

I went ahead and left him a guest book entry (I'd emailed him earlier). Well, given the posts here and how much I enjoy looking at his vids...I went ahead and PayPal'd him for a copy. I'm probably going to wear the tape thin watching it over and over. Especially considering the weather we've been having lately (blues during work...grays roll in before I leave work). Only one thing to do then, I guess...ditch work Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

You must be my twin. I did AFF CAT-A and CAT-B Saturday. I was scared that my CAT-A JMs would fail me because I felt like I didn't do what I thought I should (I felt like I zoned out and failed to lock on altimeter at 6k). All I could think walking back to the packing area was "jeez...my alt awareness sucked...maybe I'm not cut out for this...etc." As for your exit, I wouldn't worry about it. Jumping a different aircraft would make a world of difference in my newbie opinion. Not to mention maybe being exhausted from a long drive. Don't worry about it!! Enjoy it. Yes, I know it is snowing. Doc's videos are awesome. I found the page on Google when looking for skydiving videos this rainy Sunday afternoon. I think I've watched the "Head Down" video about twelve times today. The Nelson tribute is excellent. I had never heard of him (newbie me) but I could tell from the music/video that he was a special guy to all he touched. Yes, I know it is snowing. Nice jump log. I read through most of your AFF jumps. I recognized a lot of stuff (I found about 8 line twists on my CAT-B opening...bicycled out and it worked just like Chuck said it would...I figured he knew a thing or two ). Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

Anybody see this yet? Terminator 2 has to be the best sequel I've ever seen (most sequels leave a lot to be desired). Just curious on the merits of T3 before I venture to the theater. Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

Thanks for the welcome. You nailed that one. The first time I was out there I got the impression that something was definately "right" about RPC. The people there continue to amaze me with their dedication to the sport and with their patience and support to newbs like me who are checking it out. I owe all of them a big thanks already. I'll be sure to buy plenty of good beer when I get that much desired "A" stamp on my forehead. Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

Freedom isn't an is, it's an isn't. Freedom isn't having to worry about certain things. Freedom isn't having to fear retribution for profferring ideas. Freedom isn't having to fear execution for speech. Freedom isn't persecution for beliefs. Freedom isn't... Freedom isn't... Freedom is awesome. Yes, I know it is snowing. Nice one freeflir29! I Google'd pretty hard looking for the answer to this one. I couldn't find it . Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

I only smoke when drinking. (Smoking now, btw ). It shows that your thinking about yourself, which is a good thing. If it bothers you severely, try quitting for a couple of months. See if your quality of life improves. I quit drinking and smoking for awhile due to thoughts not unlike those you describe. Personally, I decided that I like having a few beers and smoking a few cigarettes now and then. It's not the healthiest thing, but then again neither is McDonald's or the ton of sweets I eat. Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

0:2:0 Cloudy Friday afternoon. Clouds early Saturday burned off so I could do AFF CAT-A and CAT-B. Clouds again on Sunday (raining now). Probably just as well that I didn't jump today. From the jumps Saturday, I woke up Sunday with soreness in muscles I didn't even know I had . No worries, just came home to read posts and drink beer

7 days for me! If my processor is not mistaken, I think that's around 0.019 years. Blue skies (not the rainy ones I have today)... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

First, I have no kids. Given that they are aware of dangers, etc. at a DZ and behave responsibly, I don't see why they shouldn't be there. Exposure to skydiving (or other sports) at a young age can only help them grow. As for you getting injured, if your DZ is a friendly place most people will probably know your kids and would help out in such a situation. I certainly wouldn't leave them away from the action solely due to a fear of you getting hurt. Just my USD$0.02. Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

I've done two AFF levels so far and it's just getting more and more fun (comfort level increasing). As for the money, I don't have any. Apparently though, some people at Capital One think I do, so I'm letting them pick up the tab for now. As for what other people think about what I'm doing, it's not going to bother me either way. I haven't even told anyone yet. Right now I just sneak off to the DZ after (or during) work and on weekends. It's actually quite fun keeping everything to myself. Cheers... That is a nice looking log. Lots of nifty extra features, too. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the input. Yes, the web thing is solely in addition to my comprehensive paper logbook. Cheers... Bob Yes, I know it is snowing. No, we are not putting the top up.

Hi all. Newcomer to the sport here (and the forums, obviously). I did my AFF CAT-A and CAT-B today. I thought it might be a good idea to log my jumps on my webpage. I'm thinking it might help me due to the fact that updating the page with recent jumps will require me to accurately recall what happened/how I felt/etc (as opposed to just thinking "that was an okay jump"). It might be a good way to let my family see my progress, too -- once I tell them about what I'm doing . I could just keep notes in my jump log or in a notebook but I always seem to be losing things (um...anybody seen my mind?). The relative permanence of the web-based logbook would seem to help there. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Tried it? Any info I'm leaving out on the page that may help me in the future? Thanks for any thoughts. http://home.nc.rr.com/rboyle Blue skies... I did my first jump ever this past weekend (7/6/03). It was a tandem at the Raeford Parachute Center (Thanks Tracy!). I went there for a one-time experience. The next day, I found myself thinking "that was AWESOME!!" over and over all day. On 7/8 I enrolled in the AFF course. Almost ready for my first jump now. I can't wait! Yes, I know it is snowing.
