No titanium for poor shadow. They are actually not going to fuse or set the bone. Sice the break occured right before the ball on the hip joint, they said the best course of action would be to do a new femoral head proceedure. They took out the old broken head of the bone, sanded down the other half, and are going to allow it to heal into possition. They said that it will take a while to heal completely but, with in a few months the ligaments and muscles will hold it in place properly. I used to be that way too, but with this cat it is different... I don't know why. I used to be mister insensitive, but I have gotten soft with my age. Plus, it is not easy to look into your fiances crying eyes and say NO. Sometimes it is just easier to open the wallet. We are splitting the cost though. If it make you feel any better, I just did jump #30, and I was more scared than the tandums that were on my load. When ever I am in the plane there is a little voice in my head that says... "What the Fuck are you doing?" The voice has gotten a bit quieter, but it is still there. My nerves aren't centered on dying now... They tend to be more centered on screwing up the dive. It is all speculation at this point, and there is no way to be certain of the exact cause because he ain't talking, but my theory is; SHADOW (my cat) jealous of my skydiving talants tried to copy me and took a dive off of our tall dresser. Needless to say he didn't PLF good and snapped his Femur right near the ball socket of the hip. He is under the knife as we speak and he is expected to make a full recovery. Do you guys and gals remember when the news was just news? Facts given with no speculation or emotional attachment? That is news. Personally I like fox, I am generally a bit right of center on most issues, but on others I am left. I know from my experience and my view points that the general media is slightly left. I don't need facts to know that, I watch many news casts from different outlets every day. I also know that Fox leans slightly right, because I too watch them everyday. Shows like O'reillys show is great IMO because it is a new concept. Bill says he is independent, but I know he is a bit right of that. But for the most part he is fair. THe incident with donahue and the guy billvon just show a small segment of is not the norm, but it is clearly stated by Bill that he Will not allow spin or emotions on his show. The gentleman (Glick) who lost his father was showing a good deal of emotion and was playing the blame game to explain his Fathers death. This has happened twice on O'reilly. One of them was Phil Donahue, and he deserved it. Phil began screaming and literally crying on the show. A clear case of emotions getting in the way of rational thought, and therefore Bill cut the mic. I would have too. You make the statement "False pretences" but what I think people in the USA forget, and people in the rest of the world don't realize or have not heard is the "Intelligence scandle" prior to 9/11. Intelligence is not always what it seems. This has always been the case. Let me fill you in on a bit of what happened after 9/11. People were going crazy looking for answers blaming both sides. There is still an ongoing investigation on whether the administration had knowledge about an attack or not. But, the Pres was being blamed for having information which may or may not have been credible that there were going to be attacks in the US. Now, Bush did not act on that intelligence, and 9/11 happened. A couple years later some more intel comes is, credible or not who knows. Bush being scared that if he doesn't act, and something happens he is in deep shit. We knew from past evidence Iraq had some nasty stuff, and they were willing to use it, and new intel (good or bad) was showing this again. It is a unique situation which I don't think the world can appreciate, however, put yourself in the administrations shoes and I would like to see what you would do. I tend to believe you would respond by saying "I wouldn't have gone to Iraq". Did England come to Iraq with us? Was Spain on the US side? I would beg to differ with your assessment, and I would say some contries like FRANCE, Germany, and China acted in their own interest not going to IRAQ. Don't be blind to both sides of the situation. You can not dissagree with the fact that those countries had pretty sweet business deals going with Iraq. Disagreeing with the government doesn't mean that they are not influenced by them. As you know the the BBC has many reporters, and many stories, and not ALL of them have to support the Governments decisions. All I said was that the BBC was a government run media outlet which is true. Example: Bill O'reilly pretty well known for being a conservative and a strong supporter of Bush has recently been criticizing Bush for the way he has not updated the public on the WMD situation. That wouldn't make Bill a Liberal would it? No, It just means in this instance he does not agree with Bush. What's funny about the statement you just said is, that is what the BBC, and CBC wants you to believe. 2 state run, state influenced foriegn media outlets. I do not in anyway believe that foriegn media is an example of how the VAST majority of the civilized world thinks. I know the media in the USA doesn't influence me, right or left. I am perfectly capable of seeing a situation from both sides, and determining my oppinions and views from my experience and good judgement. So, in the near future we need to be afraid of going to Canada or England? I doubt it. Going to Jordan or Syria however, is probably not advised. Rational people can draw rational conclusions. I doubt very much that the majority of the people in countries such as England, or Canada dislike us as much as the BBC or CBC want them too. I have to say, I sorta miss the feeling of my first 2 jumps. I don't really feel anything now when i go. On my first jump, i didn't feel like I lost my stomache, it felt more like GOD himself put his hand on my back and was pushing me toward the earth. Naturally after reaching terminal the sensation goes away. But now when I jump, i don't even notice anything. It feels like stepping into a pool to me...except a bit windier... Why wear a cypres if you jump a highly loaded reserve? Example: You get knocked out in FF from a collision. You can't pull and your cypres fires at 750ft. You wanted to load your reserve at 1.3, so now when your unconscience limp body hits the ground under a good reserve, you die from the impact. So I say F*** the cypres. Right? Well, THe only thing I can think to tell you is, call Sonic up at the ranch and ask him if he knows any of the riggers up there, and where they live. Or, do the same for Skydive Long Island. I know there are a lot of people that jump at both places that live in Queens and Nassau County. I don't know if there riggers, but call and find out!!!!! I have never personally dealt with cummings, but i have heard stories lately, and seen some stuff with my own eyes. Go to Skydive Long Island. It is closer than the Ranch, and there are very friendly and trustworthy people there. Infact, I am getting my newly bought rig inspected there next week.
