take out the sleeves of the dvd and turn them inside out so they are nothing but white. *open the dvd like you were going to take out the dvd but keep folding it like 270(degrees) then just grab the piece of paper and flip it around. Now all they will be able to see is the stamp on the DVD. which would be hard to see. edited to say: You could also flip the DVD over so the stamp would be hidden too.

So where do low hook turns , canopy collisions, misjudgement etc...come in to play? say 50% of the deaths are user related error and not equipment failure, then I believe that you have a lot better than 1/20,000 chance. -
Hah, the only one who has only jumped below 10,000 ft! yay. so far all I have done was a tandem from 9,500 feet and a IAD 1 from 4,500 feet. (this wont be for long though)

or you could use the gravitational attraction of objects. G=(m1*m2)/r^2 m1 is the mass of the earth. and m2 is the jumper mass. So if you increase the mass of the jumper, you increase the Gravitational attraction of the object or Force of the Earth on the object thus giving a higher terminal velocity because the Force of gravity is stronger(albeit a little). -
Well I'm not a parent but My girlfriends neice is 4 and her daycare is having her do homework!!! simple stuff like tracing letters etc. And her nephew has had homework for the past 2-3 yrs (dont know about kindergarten though) hes 9. Im in college now and I only have homework due once a week in 2/4 classes. edited because I cant spell.

Great Idea!!!! I'm gona get some of those tonight. incase I accidentally go to the DZ over the weekend and happen to need a parachute. Thanks for all your opinions!! I cant wait.

WhoHoo! Everything went great. Only had 3-4 linetwists. I'd sell my bike for jump money but then I cant get to work/schoo/DZ so...(Its my only mode of transportation). TK and JC were awesome, I got to fly a navigator-280 (I weigh 250) and the only problems I had were the Leg straps cutting into my legs (I posted under rigging forum) and I flared like 1' too high and just ploped down onto my feet/butt and stood up. I was going to aim for the peas(only off by 100' or so)... Next time.

Well I did a tandem 2.5yrs ago and went out to Z-hills and talked to TK about starting my training and the next day I was sitting in my FJC. I was met by nothing but smiling faces and confidence inspring comments by all the staff and fun jumpers. I did an IAD from 4500' about 4-5 minutes from takeoff (Twin-Otter) and had a perfect opening on a student 280. After I landed I dropped off the rig for the packer and got plenty of "congratulations" and "good jobs." I can't wait to get back. Jeffrey Dahle.

Ok well I did my first IAD today and everything went fine until my legs started to hurt really bad from the leg straps. Since I am tall 6'2" and 250lbs the leg straps were digging into my groin. SO much that it almost ruined the canopy ride for me because I didn't want to do to many turns because it hurt so much. I talked to the master rigger and he said he might have some slip over leg covers (just makes the leg strap wider) because the webbing is what I was resting on, and not the actual leg straps that are like 3" wide. he also said I could try some foam, or sliding the legstraps down so I would be more like sitting on a swing. Any sugestions welcome. Thanks.

Well after some financial reconfiguring I signed up for my FJC with TK out at Zhills. So starting tomorow I will finally get into the air. So if anyone around Zhills sees a 6'2" guy on a red motorcycle its me.

Well I know of 2 ways to do this. 1. Rig up a release mechanism that will pull a pin out of a holding ring (around whatever your dropping) using a servo. but this requires mounting whatever your dropping on the bottom. 2. Rig up a vertical pole so the CG will not be affected and then slide whatever you are going to drop on the top of it. (some what like a model rocket launch pad). Then when you are going to drop it just do an aileron roll /stay inverted and it will fall off. *note #1 is good for aim, #2 is cheap and easy.

I was looking into IAD (similar to SL) and the benifit I see is more canopy time/ more jumps etc... but AFF you will concentrate more on FreeFall and not canopy. Granted it takes longer but each jump is also cheaper.

Make sure they take a lump sum. and invest at least half of it, and pretend they didn't win. THen just start using all of the interest to do whatever they want to. OH and the best/safest investment would be $100,000 CD's all at different banks. (FDIC only insures 100k at each bank your with) Just dont start asking them for money, I'd hate that if I won. Of course I would help out my friends on my own but I woulden't give them a dime if they asked me for it. Still waiting for my ticket though. come on 1/23,000,000 odds !!! Edited to say ** Most people that win the lottery go bankrupt.

If they dont leave it, look in the phone book for your FedEx distribution center and give them a call and ask if you can pick up a package. My GF picked up a Steer-Hide at 8pm from a UPS center once.

I did it without even thinking about it. Where ever I have been (I've lived in 5 states and 2 countries) I have been yelled at for calling someone black. I really dont care who/what someone is, but I said it because I thought it would be easier to identify who it was.

Well just an update. A friend and myself need to go to a student organization meeting on saturday (9-20) and then we are going to turn in the paperwork on monday. WHOHOO!!!!

I weighed 260lbs for my tandem. Got to go with Jay stokes (small guy from Arizona Airplay) I've got video but dont have a way to put it on the net. If the gear can handle it then it will be hard on him. I about passed out because of all the weight on the leg straps on opening, I got a bruise from underarm to underarm from the chest strap because is smacked me on opening. We even had a standup landing. But it can be done just depends on where/equipment and it wont be a comfortable canopy ride.
