My favorite telemarketer. "Hello" "Hey do you know who hit the most home runs in 1989?" "Babe ruth" "Thats right! Now if you can answer some more questions I will give you a trip to (wherever)" "Ok" after about 5 minutes of answering stupid trivia questions. "alright!!! now I just need some information from you" "Sorry I'm not 18" *Click* he hung up.

Well I have an idea floating around in my head. (I have 0 base, and 4 skydives) anyway is it reasonable to think that a buisness person could build a Base structure, say 1000' tall with a simple elevator and charge a few bucks a lift. I realize that this takes away the whole rebel image but. What do you think?

Alright well I did my aff level 2 about an hour ago and it was great/and a little unnerving. Here it goes. Went out to the DZ with all intentions to jump then I just sat around and watched for a bit. JC came over and asked me what was up and talked me back into jumping today. went through the training etc. got a PD-300 and loaded the plane. Great exit, two Practice Pulls went fine. Altimiter ,Left turn, altimiter, right turn, Reserve side JM let go and floated up front, Main JM said he was barely holding on, I got a little tense and potatochiped a little then got stable. RSJM redocked , ~ 7000' some light clouds, 6000' lock on, 5000' Wave/pull, one thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand, altimiter 4000', looked at Main JM, back to look at altimiter and then I felt the bag come off my back and deploy(main JM said he took his hand and basically tossed the bag out of the container). 3-4 line twists. and I stood up the landing!!! YAY. Well I asked my JM what happend and he told me that the PC is just getting old and didn't have enough pull to pull the main out of the container because of (burble, 300sqft canopy, etc) so when I dropped off the container to be repacked He removed the PC and is going to fix the problem. Did I do the right thing and wait? or should I have cutaway and pulled reserve. I know that I am alive and thats all that matters and if I had gotten any lower I would have deployed my res but it worked out.

Better yet, what the hell is gravity?!? is it magnetic? (think the High magnetic field lab at UF where they can levitate a frog) or is it pure energy confined within material? but isnt that electronegativity also?
-
so how much energy does it take to get the jumper up there?
-
IIRC it was towards the back right corner. (PS did you put chalk on the end of the cue?) its in the room on the right.
-
"Try if from a different angle" you just have to shoot the cue ball at all sorts of weired angles b4 both balls go in.

I mean one that can be articulated at will. I am thinking of something to curl the trailing edge of the armwings so they would form a J looking from the side. like this ----------\

Quick question. Has jari or anyone thought about trying to put "flaps" on a wingsuit? or something similar to the brakes on a square parachute, to create more lift while slowing the operator down?
-
I feel empty. I've attached a pic of the end if you cant wait to get there.

open the desk drawers. keep going up and to the right until your in a room that looks like outerspace floating by. open the right drawer.
-
reboot and enter DWARF hehe tricky little sum'bitch
-
take the pad of paper and pen from the highest room back to the begining and trace over the letter from the security guard.
-
look for anything that is outa place. one is all dice but there is one with 7 on it so thats it. *im in the damn room with 3 pipes of red, blue, green.

Yeah but Motorcycle racers get tossed of at >100mph all the time without getting really hurt. I think it would be more difficult to maintain control until impact/landing and then you'd need some sort of abrasive resistant material (leather) to keep your skin on. *I am sure someone will do it sometime. It has to be done.

Thanks everybody, and yes he was on his bike in the accident.
-
well I was half asleep when My mom in colorado called me with the news "Your brother was in an accident." Now he and I both ride motorcycles so I instantly felt sick and hoped to god he was ok. Turns out that he was leaving his friends house and making a turn ~ 20-30mph (lucky him) and a stupid jeep cherokee turned left in front of him so he T-boned the jeep, got knocked out and taken to the hospital. He broke his arm and wrist and is going into surgery this afternoon at 3pm. I just dont know what to do, I want to just run around screaming at everything, break stuff, not do anything, fly out there to see him, I am just going crazy. But I think hes going to be fine but now hes outa work for at least 3months and probably wont be able to work in construction again (what he does now) so now they are in even more financial trouble. I know I am very thankful he is alive, and thats the only thing keeping me sane right now.

they shouldent be tooo tight, just snug at the base to hold it on, and they usually have sizes like large, x-large, etc. so just go buy singles until you find a size that fits comfortably.
-
Make one. Use some physics, a vaccumme bell, and a control valve. determine the change in pressure related to altitude and create a valve that would simulate that. probably cost as much as the vaccumme bell costs and a vaccumme pump.

Super new and have a HARD opening question
JeffD replied to saltlakedrop's topic in Gear and Rigging
also how tight were your leg straps? if they are loose you can get a good wack on opening too. I was told to squat when you tighten your leg straps so they are good and snug. -
1. no I was taught to go from full flight, to shoulders, to chest, to waist. Flare,Flare,Flare. 2. no I haven't tried to stall it up high, just testing the flare which feels weak up high. I'll talk to my instructors and see, and try the wrap up high and see if it helps. (not on landing) Thanks for the help.
-
thats just it I just come straight into the ground with no swing, no plane, (see picture) This is what it feels like, and looks like (my perspective).

Alright well I'm a big guy (250lbs) and flying navigator and PD 280s so I'm loading it at just about 1-1. So far both my jumps have landed me on my butt because the canopy just wont plane out. I just go in at like a 20-30degree angle, feet hit and slide right down to my butt and stop. I am flaring as much as I can(arms down to my waist), but remembered that student canopies have longer steering lines to prevent students from stalling too much. I heard one of the experienced jumpers saying you could wrap the steering lines around your hands to "shorten" the steering lines and give you a stronger flare. I just cant get enough flare. Should I wrap them a few times? to see if it will help. Thanks.
