I know a few of us UK guys have applied! hope we beat the rush!!! thanks to R&J for the efforts to keep the numbers and history alive!!!!
-
I beleive that he took a 38 and not a 42...... is this incorrect??
-
I have heard several "experienced" jumpers state the period around 30 to 70 jumps is the "danger zone" - luckily 850 has just come through this period with just bust up tib and fib!! Also is it accepted that you will have a mentor during your first 100 jumps???????? I have never had a mentor and most people I jump with have never had one........... in the UK there is not enough people experienced enough to mentor (and the ones that do IMHO dont have enough experience too). We are all adults and we make our own decisions - we are just thrown out there to make these decisions early on in our jumping........... i think this makes us learn more faster! just my 2 groats......
-
100% that my kit is going to open if i have rigged it up for the jump i am about to do............. there is no failure fear in my eyes - it just wont happen... failure of gear (IMHO) occurs when then are other aspects missed.............. its not the gear that mals its the choices that the jumper makes that mals!! just my thoughts.................. be safe people!
-
Not sure of the dates but Hinton normally closes for a couple of weeks or so over around the Xmas / New Year period (a more regular club member should be able to confirm this) - Langar I beleive still runs everyday over Xmas / New Year.........
-
please tell me you are trying to catch someone to rise to this............... please dont tell me you ACTUALLY beleive these jumps you made are BASE jumps............ Sometimes I hate text - you cant hear the tone of voice behind it!!
-
not quite a BASE jump though hey!
-
just pointing out the link.......... its an interesting discussion on the distance gained from an object from a static exit. What the fuck??? your on the wrong forum mate! try the local swim and diving forums...........
-
Some relevance to why you are asking this question………(perhaps…….)………?????? http://www.blincmagazine.com/forum/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=4829&mesg_id=4829&page=

This may give you some insight http://www.blincmagazine.com/forum/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=7&topic_id=15320&mesg_id=15320&page=3

Not at all........ it is an advanced jump in its own right. When I first read your post I read it that it was only twisting aerials that were deemed advanced jumps - I just wanted to clarify that this was not the case - but on re-reading your post I may have misread slightly - apologies.
-
On beginner jumps, yes. On 99% of intermediate jumps, yes. Body armor will inhibit some advanced jumps (for example, it's difficult to perform a twisting aerial in a full suit of Dainese armor). But don't worry, when you are ready to do these jumps, you'll know which ones they are. are you saying that its only an advanced jump where you will perform "twisting aerials"?? surely "advanced jumps" is something more then whether you perform an aerial?? just my thoughts.........

Why is it that some people do this? i guess it makes great video?! Fuck video its all about the memories......... A sucessful jump is one that goes unnoticed....... No respect for the sport, the people in it or the objects...........
-
This site is also quite scarey and is a stalkers dream http://www.b4usearch.co.uk/ but only for the UK'ers out there!!
-
faber! just reading the shit after your 1st trip!!! nice one bro!!! wait til this time around!!!! Rock and Roll!!!
-
wind! now theres a surprise that it effects your canopy!! I think too many people dont think about the effect of wind on their canopy. if the wind at my dz is coming over the hanger at strong strength people will still go up and wonder why they were getting dumped in - when it got too high the experienced jumpers back off and the inexperienced carried on. Please learn about the way wind reacts! Wind and the effect on your canopy will hurt you. I have ended up with an injury from a "simple" jump because of the small curl over from the trees near by - do not under estimate the power and the nature of the wind........... just look on a windy day when the wind has to travel over objects to get to the landing area at how the canopies are being effected............. yes it may be a "fuck me its buffing around day" but those days will break some bones............. be safe......
-
Mate! I know I have said this - but big respect on the objects bagged since returning to this windy shitty island........... The UK aint the "softest" place to grab the objects that you have done since you returned here...... no one can take away the fact that you have "gone hard" - jumps maybe sparse week in week out in this Country but you made up for that with the jumping of the "low and gnarly"!! - Nice work brother! Glad you could join us!! -
-
Myself and the Danish mincer will be ripping a trail around the UK and we will be in Laaadan town during his time here.............. creating some urban mayhem........... (faber - there is a new 200ft tower available thanks to a friend opening it!!!)
-
MuthaPhuqker!!.............. hehehehe.......... Well I guess I dont know you and know your sense of humour............. so not great surprise I was duped!! - Well done you !! hehehehe I agree with ya though .......this sport can be done safely......... as much as it allows........ my aims and objectives in this sport is not to be able to pull off a double gainer from sub 300ft, or to fly birdman off an A or to freefall sub200 (well maybe a few times)........... my aim is to get through my jumping life enjoying the "flat and stable" and loving the groundrush whilst staying [serious] injury free.......... Yes shit does happen and people do get injured or die - but I do everything i can to ensure I jump as safely as possible.......... I walk down / away alot - but I also maintain a nice current jumping life............. if I do get injured or die - I hope it will be because of a "shit happens" thing and not anything that means my last words are "I knew I should not of done that - bugger" Dont do things beyond your skill or that are marginal - then everyone can be safe and have fun................. lots of fun
-
Fair Play mate........... a tough decision indeed........ But hey........the number "386" is yours forever............ no one can ever take that from you....... Peace out and fly free...........
-
or offer to swap them eh Mac? Honest guv I werent trying to stitch ya up.............. thought the 46 would be good for back up when you SL or sumfing guv'nor............... cheap as chips too!! Well to be honest they do only have 5-10 jumps on them both - so are relatively "brand new" - its just they seem to oscillate a little toooooo much for my liking - but maybe not for someone elses liking! Not so much as needing retiring - just a preference of mine to have spoked / AV......................... and PC's that dont dance around like a chimpanzee on Ecstasy............ "Got any Jungle in Guy??......................"
-
I once robbed a tramp of his last money and as he was pretty drunk I managed to walk away from it................ To me that was pretty low...........
-
Just curious as I have heard opinion on that there is little point in having an AV 46" - my 46 is non AV as the manufacturer would only make me an AV on special request........... I decided to only get AV on my 42 and 38....... Sorry I meant just on the top skin of the PC. Yeah you aint the first person to explain it this way to me. Kinda my thoughts - after some video of my PC's "dancing around like a mongoose on acid" I decided to get myself some new ones! Nice one! Cheers
-
Anyone jumping PC's without load tapes? I am trying to sell 2 PC's without load tapes that are made by a BASE manufacturer ……………. But no one will touch them……… I prefer spokes and AV on my Pc’s – I have my own thoughts and reasons for this………. But I just wonder if anyone has any “public” thoughts on “plain ZP” PC’s
