  1. 3 Grand for a 6 year old rig and an 8 year old Cypres!!??! 6 years is not an old rig. It's a Vector 3 which is modern enough to have all of the safety concerns addressed for freeflying. A new one would be close to $2k. Have you looked around for a used cypres lately? The ones with an 8 year done are selling for around $500.00. Fact. A new PD reserve is about a grand. Used ones generally go for around $700.00 The Silouette may be valued around $800.00. So yes. Around $3,000.00. Depending on the condition of the rig. Give or take. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. If it's a Vector 3, then bring it up to $3,000.00. That is what my market in Nor Cal dictates. You'll find that prices and tolerances will varry from region to region. It's all about supply and demand ya know? So all these fancy formulas sorta go out the window. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. Oh shit! I thought your order form said Hot Pink, not Royal Blue! Oh well. Too late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  4. My best educated guess is around $2,500.00. Vector II, right? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Most containers can accomodate a couple/few size main canopies. Each container and size will differ as to exactly what you can put in there. Best to consult with your Dealer or the Manufacturer to plan out your new rig for your current needs with consideration for the next phase of your jumping. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 6. Pick up the phone and ask the people who will know for sure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. Why? That didn't seem too bad actually. It was pretty factual. Even a hint of admiration. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. I thought that was a joke..... ....hope it was a joke.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. If you are going to Rantoul, we'll have some there to see, touch, fly... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. What type of gear are you using? How experienced are your instructors? How long do you spend with ground instruction covering canopy flight and flaring techniques? Generally, if there is a trend, it is not the individual, but the instruction and/or equipment. Just my opinion, worth what you paid for it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 14. I still jump my 10 year old Bev Suit for AFF jumps. I has about 1,000 jumps on it, has had the sleeve cut to accomodate an IV, I've gained 20 lbs since I started jumping (all muscle, I'm sure).... ....and I have NEVER had a seam blow out. I've also sold my fair share of Bev suits, and my customer saticfaction on her products is 100%. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. I took my husbands out of the closet while he was out of town, and sort of fancied it up a bit. Lany? Pic? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. >>Dont assume, as Bonnie may have, that I was telling you that you did the wrong thing. You asked "could I have", and thats what I answered.>Some tend to poorly maintain line sets on the rigs they own unfortunatly, but broken steering lines aren't that common.
  17. Eddy, you have a few thousand more jumps than JP. He's a new TM. JP. If you're walking and talking' you did the right thing. More importantly, your student is safe and sound. And you have another cool entry in your log book. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. Or, you could buy a properly sized parachute that is used, then put 100 jumps on it, sell it for what you bought it for, buy another used canopy for the same price, put 100 jumps on it..... repeat as necessary. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. Wow! Sounds like Byron. Except without the water.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  23. That is a tough one. Because Tandem gear is jumped so much, most equipment is used until it is unairworthy. Look for a dropzone going out of business or basically upgrading their gear. Maybe call some of the major Tandem gear manufacturers to find out who is buying a new fleet. Then call that DZ to see if they are selling their old stuff. You also might want to check Bill Dause at the Parachute Center in Lodi. ParachuteCenter.com Is this for a main or reserve for yourself? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! 24. Funner is unanimous! The Spectre has tapered ends. It will glide in and out of turns better.... more responsive. The flare is powerful! You'll love it. Take some time to discuss the flight charactoristics with an instructor before going up. Open with enough altitude to play around for a bit. Feel the difference in the turns. Also practice brake turns. Find the flare point. Most of all. Have fun! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. I grew up in San Diego. Watched my friends endure being called beeners, wet-backs and spics. And yes, I've done a few things in my time. Baby sit for women who worked the fields all day. I've spent some days digging ditches and picking fruit myself. Enough to know that I hated it, and feel VERY fortunate for all that I have. Now I do have a tendancy to bring lightly used clothes to that community instead of Goodwill. My Mom used to take us down to TJ to bring blankets, clothing and other items. Even though I grew up below the poverty level, I never felt poor compared to some of the Mexican Families that work the fields. Yup. You struck a cord.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies!
