Why doesn't the Javelin look freefly friendly to you? In realtiy almost every rig on the market today is freefly friendly. If you are buying new that is. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I agree. $1,200.00 is fair. You may want to offer a friend the "bro deal" for say, $1,100.00. After 200 jumps they are just broken in. Easier to pack, with lots of life left. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

What is your budget? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I agree. Sell the cypres. There are a lot of jumpers not using a cypres simply because they cannot afford to buy a new one. You can get a very fair price for it and it won't depreciate any further. Plus you'll feel good knowing your gave another jumper a chance at jumping with a backup device. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

If you don't buy it, please let me know. I'll take it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I'ld like to add: Always keep your legs in a position to best absorb impact should/when it occurs. Don't get in a habit of coming in with what I can the femor stance. One leg sticking straight forward. I personally like slightly bent legs with feet off to the side for swoop style landings. That way the impact will be on my upper thigh and I could continue that into a PLF if I need to. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I'ld have to concur with Bev Suits. When it comes to form fitting, Bev has got it down pat! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Alana, Your rig is worth about $500. I'm trying to remember if your reserve was a PD or Micro Raven and what year. Lemme know. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I jumped a pull-out for about 1000 jumps and it gave me a shoulder problem. Every once in a while the PC would just catch air before I release it and it would tweak my shoulder. My current rig has a hackey handle throw out. How did your PC wrap your ring site, Miami? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

$3,500.00. Look for any maintenance items that might be due: Pilot chute, risers, brake lines. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Are you buying new or used? If you are buying used, no need to limit your search. Make a wish list of canopies that would be suitable, then see what is available and fits your budget. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Buying used gear? Don't get hung up on a brand name. That will limit your choices. Look for a rig that is modern. Has the right size container for your desired canopies. Has the right length main lift web. Has the right width side laterals. There are so many great containers to choose from. So there is no need to limit your search. Better to have a rig that fits well and is modern than to have a specific brand and compromise either of those. With the limited information your provided, I would suggest a container that will fit both a 190 main and a 170 main. Start with the 190 until you are absolutely kicking ass on it, then sell it or trade it for a 170. With good quality used gear, that trade out should only cost about $50 - $100.... if that. often times it's straight across. PM me if you have more detailed questions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

Rasmack, Some of the smaller drop zones don't have rental gear, or don't have poor rental gear. So it is not unheard of to buy right after graduation. THere are loads of options. First determine what would work for you. Then look at both the used and new gear market to see what is available and fits your budget. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

I would try BASE jumping first before you buy a rig. What if you don't like it? I know a couple of people that bought brand new BASE gear, went up and jumped it and said never again. On the bright side. There is some lightly used BASE gear for sale now. What kind of rig are you considering? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
