    I would really hope that you would NOT do that. Next time you are flying your canopy, look up and see how much of your parachute is controlled by your break lines. But cutting them with your hook knife, you are giving up nearly a third of your fabric over your head. I would rather take a wrap on the opposite toggle, test the stall point, and prepare for a good PLF, than to give up ANY of my parachute that is still working.     It will likely be a bit long in the harness. They yoke may be correct. Best bet is to go download the order form, PM me or someone that can help you determine what your harness size is based on your measurements.     First check your altimeter. Then you can tuck into a ball. That will eliminate your helicopter rotors. Take a deep breath, then pop back into an arch.     This is the exact reason we have two JMs jumping out with you. They will help make your exit more comfortable. As an AFF-JM myself, I love a challenge. No matter what you do on exit, you'll be in freefall. There's lots of altitude to get stable. The feeling you get when you land your own parachute for the first time, will absolutely trump your tandem experience. Go for it! Get some air! Tear it up! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies!     Each manufacturer constructs their harness a bit differently. They require measuerment that will best fit you into their construction. Also Different manufacturers have different philosophies about sizing. Just go by the directions on the order form.     I just think that his perception of a "good track" might be based on seeing the initial departure from the skydive.
