  1. Byron is similar. I have dial up too. But the way it was presented to us and the way we would consider doing it, would only require going home and clicking a button. PM me for details. I suck at trying to type things out in explaination. But our Video Concession owner was also concerned about time too. Once he leaves the DZ, it's family time. He seems pretty keen on it... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. I usually sit down with my customers and color some selections the good old fashioned way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. Work? Click. Click. Send. As long as you have a good connection. Otherwise it's an extra step to bring it home and simply upload from there. Presuming you have high speed at home. Initial investment is reasonable considering the return. Also if all your neighboring DZs have it. You should strongly consider it. Word of mouth on the internet spreads faster than a brush fire in June at Byron. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  4. Auctions always work great for us. Serve alcohol. Get a really good auctioneer. People get really competative and bid crazy prices for all sorts of stuff. When you get around to collecting auction items, PM me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. I've done some shirts. I'm trying to figure out what you want to have on the shirt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. Your glasses are fairly low profile and your head should fit most full face helmets. Go to Boneheads site at www.boneheadcomposites.com They also offer the Mamba which has a lower profile than the Havoc, which is a bit bulky. I have had better customer feedback for the Mamba vs. the Havoc. Then again. Judging by the first pic, you look a bit intimidating. The Havoc could enhance that look for ya! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. I am going to print that and post it at our drop zone. Lately it seems our boys are acting like a pack of wild animals. We have a new infusion of really hot women at Byron and it's become a spectator sport. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. Any chance you can post a pic of you wearing your glasses? A profile would be good. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. My experience has been that lines sets take about 2 weeks to arrive. Usually, I send the entire canopy to PD and have them do the line set and inspection. From the west coast it usually takes about 3 weeks. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. Perfect. My maternal instincts. Caryy on. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. Scoop, Do you have 13 jumps and jump with an audible? Might a make a suggestion? In order to develope good "skydiver instincts", you MAY want to try setting your beeps for just after break of, just after deployment. You should be altitude aware and break off BEFORE you hear the beeps. As you turn, your Pro Dytter will let you know you are on track. Same for deployment. You should be reaching back and going through the pull sequence as the Dytter beeps. Do this for about 100 jumps. That way you are training yourself to rely on you instead of a mechanical device. One day the batteries may die, or the unit may fail. And it would suck to see you waiting for that beep until your other backup device fires.... assuming you have one. Just a thought. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  12. I guess I assumed you meant the ear vents to be no coverage as opposed to the half shell. My bad. Most skydivers that are enjoying the freefall portion of our sport tend to stick with the full cut for noise reduction as well as warmth in the chilly months. A full cut Pro Tec is about $35 if your configuration doesn't work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. All built for protection? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  14. That's not a full cut Pro Tec. Your ears are exposed. It will be hard to hear an audible in this case. Here are a couple of pictures of the Full Cut Protec. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. You can add a thin layer of padding in the ears piece of the protec to help make it a bit more quiet for fly in. Otherwise a bit of gaffers tape on the outside.... or both. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. You may also consider the Pro Tec Snow or the Gath Convertible. They are both affordible, have crash test ratings and you won't have to mess with them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. That helmet looks like a good low profile helmet. But do me a favor. Don't just put tape over the snap. REMOVE IT! Tape comes off over repeated exposure to 120+ mph wind. Consider that your lines are deploying from your back and often brush up the backside of your head. And I have to agree with Cocheese. Skydiving helmets are expensive because they are not mass produced, but they DO cater to all of our demands as skydivers. Most of which were listed in his post. And for those of you who were teasing him about #11 and skull protection... that's just cheezy. (pun intended). We all assumed we use a helmet for head protection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. Okay. Now I've laughed out loud. You really should have a spare pair of glasses. Or maybe corrective goggles. It was cold here on Saturday too. But Sunday was niiiiiice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. Elisha (Olly), Where have you been. Come back to Byron. We got lots of new videos and you can watch them in the store before you buy them.... ...but you'll have to share the couch with Jett. And possibly color too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. Generally I see students start off with an altimeter, log book and goggles. At our DZ it's fairly easy to borrow a helmet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. http://www.extremephoto.ru/photo/1/599/next/&k=&s=1&v=0 I liked this one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. Mabye trim? Maybe spacing between line attachments? I do know, that I DON'T want to be the test dummy on this one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. Iwan is right. We almost never encounter wind at Byron. I have a pattented student briefing "in case the winds pick up." Stop. Drop. Reel and Run. As soon as your body is stopped, drop one toggle, reel the other one in hand over hand until you reach fabric all the while you are running around to get behind your canopy. Once you are behind it, hide the nose from the wind. A 280 is a bit harder to tame than a 150, but it can be done. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. You may want to consider buying a rig with a PD160r and a 170 main. This will accomodate a 150 main very nicely when you are ready. A used 170 in good shape sells quite quickly. I bet you can buy a used 170, put 100 jumps on it, and sell it for what you bought it for. This way you can fly what is appropriate now, and keep your body in one piece to fly that 150 by the end of the season.... provided you stay current. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. I was taught to only toss one brake line (the one with the line over ) and fly one brake line and one rear riser. I saw a jumper at bridge day toss both, and luckily he landed in water. It was U G L Y. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
