I expect that Biden would do much better debating an empty chair (podium) than Clint Eastwood did in 2012.

Hope Hicks has Covid. CDC rules are that Trump should quarantine
headoverheels replied to JoeWeber's topic in Speakers Corner
Knowing this administration, they could be lying about her having it. Just so they could say "see, no big deal, not that easily transmitted." You just cannot know. Clorox on standby. -
And then, we have the Governor of Alabama signing a bill which prohibits abortion when there is a detectable heartbeat, which would typically be at ~6 weeks.

The full John Oliver episode goes into a lot more detail on SLAPP lawsuits, and the way Bob Murray has used them repeatedly for intimidation.

Comment online regarding Sweden's approach of not shutting down for Covid19: "I think culture is a big part of it. In Sweden, we're tired of the 2m social distancing. We wish this to be over so we can go back to the Swedish norm of 5m"

Maybe, but M.T.Greene is in a House district one over from Ron.

Don't change the debate rules.

Every CEO of every company I worked for professionally actually did try to hire people that knew more than they did, and used their advice. Not many direct underlings were fired, and none that I know of for butting heads with the CEO, but a couple of CEOs were replaced involuntarily.

Trump has contempt for his religious supporters
headoverheels replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
Trump pretty much has contempt for everyone, except authoritarian leaders of other countries. -
I thought the debate was pretty much a tossup, between Xi and Putin.

Many of them are racist, and few actually have a high-school understanding of the Constitution -- very few could pass the immigrant citizenship written test.

I don't know how far back the "average polls" went. The actual vote was affected by the last minute Comey strangeness. I'm sure there will be no lack of last minute bs this time around.

I'm guessing that your expert is neither CIA nor DOD.

Many states ended up with more Trump votes, by 1% to 4% of total cast, than the 2016 poll averages showed. Only a few states had substantially more Clinton votes than the poll average reflected.

Trump's taxes show chronic losses and years of tax avoidance
headoverheels replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
The Trump base will not think less of him for avoiding taxes. Heck, he probably paid $750 too much. A few will take note of his dismal business losses year after year, in the middle of the best economy of their lives, but most will pay that no mind either. -

Must have been property tax. -
Trump will not actually debate. Not his style in the least, and he wouldn't be that capable anyway.

duplicate post, system acting up

No, quite the opposite. The Dems had the majority of both houses of Congress when Obama was elected. He naively tried to reach out to the Republicans, who had already stated (McConnell) that their only priority would be not to pass anything promoted by the administration. The ACA should have been rammed through in the first year, without making 200 modifications to appease the R's. It would have been a better program, and you would have been able to keep your doctor (if you liked, and she didn't retire or go concierge).

McConnell et. al. also refused to consider Garland when he was nominated by Clinton for a district judge position. When Clinton was re-elected, he re-nominated Garland, who was confirmed in a 76-23 vote, with McConnell, Grassley and Sessions voting against confirmation, supposedly on the grounds that the district didn't need that many judges.

Yes, as President, Biden will be over a Vice President. I think most of us know that by age 4. Q drops are about as valid as the dozens of SurveyMonkey poll drops that fell today. i.e., of no legitimacy.

8 justices is really not a problem. Most cases will not be a tie, and those that are a tie will merely go back to a lower court with instruction, or go with that court's original decision.
