  1. Mine is: "You have an Australian kiss -- like a French kiss, but it comes from down under."
  2. She could, if it were of someone else! Gary
  3. You are beyond the absolute maximum weight PD states for the 107, so I suspect that it would be too heavily loaded for best performance.
  4. Well, if you don't want to eat them or wear them, you can still stuff them http://www.acaseofcuriosities.com/potter.html
  5. Saturday is looking like a few clouds early, clear later, on www.weather.com I'm leaving for the east coast on Sunday, so it's Saturday or nothing for me.
  6. Doesn't much matter in Memphis, where they differ by less than a degree, and runway headings are in ten degree increments. I've seen runway numbers changed, as the magnetic pole drifts over time.
  7. I dunno, I still like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26428&item=2441739057 and much cheaper. Not really trailerable, though.
  8. I bought a Boeri Axis Performance. It's really for more of a round head, but is really nice. I'm going to shave down some of the hard styrofoam liner to improve the fit. The Axis Performance only goes up to XXL, at least online at http://shopslms.com/ski---snowboard-helmets-boeri-ski---snowboard-helmets.html There's still a lot of Myto Air helmets around, left over, but may be harder to find your size. I'm not sure, but think they may a bit more oval. The Myto Switch helmet seems to have replaced that one; it has more versitle venting for skiing in various conditions, but that's not really of much concern for skydiving. I didn't like the way the Myto Switch neckstrap cut against my throat. The switch goes up to XXXL
  9. [reply} Yeah, that's the other thing. She had the opportunity to take her stuff the other day, but didn't. I'm pretty sure it was the old "leave behind" so that I'd have to see her again. eBay.
  10. That's so you can read the license tag number after the wreck.
  11. On the runway numbers. On the taxiway. Not at the same airport.
  12. Hi JP, Have you jumped the FreeZR yet? I liked it, except it grabbed too much air when deployment stood me up, and would move around too much. I had a full set of all liner sizes, so I mixed and matched for best snug fit, but wasn't happy with the motion on deployment. The chin strap doesn't do much, as it just goes straight across the bottom of the shell; tightening it didn't really snug it to my chin. I might have been able to stuff some padding down there, adding a bit of homemade liner, but I decided to pass. Lots of room for eyeglasses, and better ventilation to keep them from fogging, compared to a Z1.
  13. I was having the occasional popped toggle, either after opening or by knocking it when steering with my rear risers just after opening. I had the elastic replaced with new/tighter elastic, while getting a line set replaced, and have had zero popped toggles since then, in ~160 jumps. The elastic is tighter than originally, if I can recall that far back.
  14. It's better to have one than not, at any experience level, in my opinion. Many people, whether newbies or not, simply haven't seen enough situations to really grasp what can happen, or have the truly naive attitude that it can't happen to them. I'm not someone who would hesitate to jump without one, if mine were out for repair or I wanted to try a rig that didn't have one. I would not be totally comfortable about that, having jumped many years before the first reasonably reliable AAD made it to market. However, I normally do have a functioning AAD in my rig, and think it was a very worthwhile way to spend my money.
  15. Here's another report, which says the numbers were smaller. Also, multiple protests against the occupation. http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/2003_12_01_riverbendblog_archive.html
  16. 8/10; would have been 9, but I thought too much about one of them. (Hey, I'm still thinking!)
  17. I'll be there, by 9:30 or 10am, unless weather is obviously bad. Gotta leave early, maybe 3:15; got a limo affair in the city. I'll be flat flying. Gary
  18. Is gaffer's tape something you can pick up locally? What stores commonly carry it? Thanks, Gary
  19. Ya just need to see Matrix a few more times...
  20. Sweet sticky juices running down my mouth and chin dreaming of mango
  21. I mostly agree. I'd tone down that bit about "greatly" improving your track to "somewhat." There is a big difference in initial acceleration when you first stick your feet out, and less difference for top-end track speed. Optimal body postion will be different, but you'll figure that out. Booties are much better for typical 4 to 8 way sequential formation dives, where you will be turning yourself or turning pieces. You'll probably have to wear about 5# more lead with a bootie suit.
  22. Go to www.performancedesigns.com, where you will find white papers on each of the canopies. They are compared to each other there. There must be hundreds of posts here on dz.com, so if you are really interested in opinions, search for them in this group and the swooping group; there's lots more there than will ever respond to this thread, unless you have some very specific question.
  23. I put over 800 jumps on my Tony suit, with barely noticable wear on the soles of the booties. I put them on just before getting in the plane, take them off after I land before walking back. I never repaired or coated the soles with anything.
