  1. Ya think the winning bidder meant to bid a max on $20.25, not $2025?
  2. In the recent Lodi incident, a low-time jumper made a 270 degree approach to final, misjudged, and bounced off of the freeway, after saying something along the line of "watch this swoop." It was done under a canopy that I would not have recommend for him (Stiletto), but the same manuever under a similar sized Spectre or Saber2 would likely have had a similar result, as they lose even more altitude in a turn. His primary training was done elsewhere. I don't think that Lodi has the best student program available, especially after the initial training, but I wouldn't have a problem sending a friend there.
  3. If I understand correctly, Lodi will only do the AFF training during the week, not on weekends. If you can get off work during the week, it's great to do a lot of jumps in just a few days. It really speeds the learning process. I haven't seen much in the way of formal coach jumps at Lodi, after you get done with the primary training, but I really don't pay that much attention to student operations. Bodypilot1 can fill you in much better -- send him a message.
  4. How was the fit of the FreeZR, compared to the Z1, etc.? Is there any more room for eye glasses?
  5. Here's how to hypnotize a man. Go to the web site below. Click somewhere in the middle of the bum photo, drag, and release. http://www.w2rst.com/hypnotize/ [url]
  6. Go to the "How Gay Are You" thread, take the test, report back here with your test score If you are too straight for modern times, give yourself an extra 8% for that necklace...
  7. They won't give you extra altitude for showing your tits, either.
  8. Attach it to a "harness" with a fake body or skeleton, hang it from a tree in your yard, set a briefcase by it with fake money, and it's a D.B. Cooper halloween decoration. Don't climb the tree to retrieve before that hangover subsides...
  9. Just a DZ record, not NorCal. Still a lot of fun, and great to see some jumpers getting their first opportunities at formation loads and big way skills. There was a lot of improvement since we started doing these in June. A big thank you to Bill Shipley for driving this!
  10. Hi Bill, How much installed area per kW?
  11. The guy in the V needs to have his right foot in the V, not just his ass.

  13. Yes, I think that everyone except for me should get them.
  14. I'm saving this for sometime later. I'm not quite to that point in my relationship. If I pass this on now, I never will be!
  15. About $675, but it was a used reserve. Papillon main, 24 flat circular reserve, GreenStar container, no AOD.
  16. You'll probably like the Sabre2 210 also. It will give you a bit more range than the 190, getting back from a long spot, is certainly sporty enough at your weight to allow you to learn the full range of canopy flying techniques, and will let you handle less-than-ideal situations better. Check the PD web page, and you will see that you are a bit heavy, or too inexperienced, for a 190. In fact, as a novice, you will be a bit above the maximum recommended exit weight for a 210, assuming your body weight is 175, plus clothes, rig, main and reserve. http://www.performancedesigns.com/sabre2.htm There's nothing that you can learn on a 190 that you can't learn on a 210. In fact, you will probably be able to learn quicker, as well as more safely, on the larger canopy. Your instructors may even recommend a larger one. BTW, the Spectre and Sabre2 lose more altitude in a turn than a Stiletto, according to PD. They require more control input, so they are less "twitchy," but you can easily put yourself in a bad situation the Sabre2 or Spectre. Choose well, have fun, be safe!
  17. World team '94, Bratislava, Slovakia. Landing off (we initially had some bad spots!) in the adjacent corn fields, there was ganja growing between the rows of corn. At Lake Wales 201+ ways, bad spot. I was one of the first down into a cow pasture. At first, the cows just moved away from me. As other jumpers started landing en masse, the cattle reversed direction. It was a stampede, just like in some old "b" cowboy movie. Went from amusing to pretty scary in a matter of seconds, as one cow was freaked enough to trample right across her calf, and cattle were crowding by.
  18. Gave me goosebumps when I first read it. Just re-read as I was posting, and it did it again.
