If you get the new risers, please be aware that your flare point will be lower. i.e., to get the same flare, you will have to pull down further. In full flight there is no difference. Since the full flight position for the shorter risers would be lower (by 4 inches if you get 20" risers), the flare point is also lower. Practice flares at altitude and be especially careful for the first jumps. After five or ten jumps you will have gotten used to the change.

But they keep demonstrating on how to cum quickly -- can't you follow an example?

Is that a pistil in your petals, or are you just glad to see me?

I'll be late too. What could be safer on Safety Day, than for the other jumpers not to have me in the air?

This coming from a guy (correct me if it wasn't you) who once, while wearing a cast on his wrist and finding that he couldn't release his Capewell while on the ground, said "it'll work in the air." Man, what's the world coming to? -

"Even in the narrow context of trust fund accounting, investing in stocks is not a reliable way to increase trust fund balances. Although stocks can be expected to outperform bonds, on average (a difference often referred to as the "equity premium"), the performance of the stock market is never certain. Indeed, even over long periods of time, there is a chance that stocks could perform worse--perhaps much worse--than bonds. According to historical data, investors face about a 25 percent chance of realizing lower returns from holding a portfolio of S&P 500 stocks for 10 years than from holding 10-year government bonds over the same period.(11) Even during the great postwar boom of the past 50 years, stocks have returned no more than Treasury debt in some long periods. For example, between 1966 and 1981, the real rate of return on stocks was -0.4 percent, lower than the real rate of return on short-term Treasury securities (-0.2 percent).(12) More recently, in the 12 months that ended on September 30, 2002, the S&P 500 portfolio fell by 20.5 percent, while bonds (as measured by Barclay's U.S. Debt Index) provided returns of 8.6 percent. It is the risk of greater potential losses that causes investors to demand a premium to hold stocks rather than bonds. Stocks must provide higher returns than bonds, on average, because otherwise no one would be willing to invest in them." quoted from http://www.cbo.gov/showdoc.cfm?index=4023&sequence=0

Being screwed by skydiving center
headoverheels replied to AiRpollUtiOn's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Even if they make one or two partial payments, they are likely to screw you for the remainder, as it becomes less and less likely that you will take legal action as the remaining debt is decreased. -

As far as jumper positions, it was exactly like being in the air with the dive, and watching the waves fly in and dock. Yes, they were moving vertically as well as horizontally. It's been a while, and I don't remember if they moved body parts. I don't know what software was used, but it seemed to be interactively run. I don't think that it was a video clip which would run without the 3D animation software, but perhaps an output to a standard video format could be made. Maybe someone here knows the diver that did the animation.
