  1. Was she bragging or complaining?
  2. By that reasoning, so would be getting a snowball.
  3. She did. Just don't follow her when she's lost!

  6. Type 7 webbing is rated to 6000 pounds. A stainless steel #4 Rapide link has a safe working load of 615 pounds. 725 Spectra has a strength of, well, 725 pounds. 725 X 4 lines = 2900 pounds total. Seems like the Rapide link is the weak link. A Rapide link can work loose and then fail on opening, a Slink doesn’t. Derek Why do you mix tensile strengths with working load? I don't have any problem with either system. I don't like the increased time required to install/re-install the soft links, but otherwise they are good. Both systems are plenty strong for the application. Rapide links are not as strong, but they can be re-used for thousands of jumps. Bumpers and stainless steel slider grommets mean no nicks/burrs ever. My bumpers required one replacement, at about 1000 jumps on my old canopy. I've gone to soft links, since that is what came with my main, and they pack up a bit flatter (mainly owing to no required bumpers).
  7. The more on the back of the hand, the more in the burble, and the higher it reads relative to true altitude while in a freefall position which puts it in the burble.
  8. The MicroRaven is not the same version as the Raven Dash M reserve. It would be good if the MicroRaven were added to the select list, for posting classifieds and for editing profiles. The MicroRaven was not subject to the service bulletin that the -M was.
  9. Q. What's the difference between an oral thermometer and a rectal thermometer? A. The flavor.
  10. Oh. I thought you asked whether I like packing cervixes. Never mind.
  11. I'm slowly nodding and contemplating, as I do in an art museum when I see something that I cannot believe that someone would provide space to show, much less insult the public (or not, as most will never know) by showing it.
  12. It says I'm a fork, but I know myself to be more of a Spork -- I can fork you, then spoon.
  13. If you throw that cutaway handle away, it will probably come all the way out.
  14. Are things like golfing greens fees taxed? Ice skating rinks?
  15. Heck, I'll even take your dog flying. http://punchbaby.com/media/gitfakt/clips/cool/FlyingFriend.wmv
  16. You'll be passing lots of good DZ's along the way, although it's a hot time of year. Other things to do would be angle north and see the Grand Canyon on your way through, or see Carlsbad Caverns, or numerous other POIs. Good luck parking two cars in Berkeley
  17. Francine McFilthy, followed by Blood Upon the Risers.
  18. Yes. Not that I particularly recommend pulling the reserve with the right hand. I also have several hundred pulls on mains with ripcords. The motion is not much different -- left hand crossing overhead, right hand comes in and pulls. It is pretty much the same motion with the left hand that I make when doing a right hand BOC throwout, for that matter. It would be interesting to see whether I would be as stable at terminal, if I were to use my left hand to pull. I think my right arm would "know" where to go, but that motion is not as ingrained. I also throw away cutaway handles.
  19. Not that likely. I've never pulled my reserve with my left hand. I don't barrel roll when I reach for my main, either.
  20. I had shoulder problems about 12 years ago. MRI showed minor damage, but surgery wasn't suggested. Therapy didn't seem to help, so I just stopped doing any exercise with it. After a few months it got better. I was out for 6 or 7 months. Now it is never perfect, always there, sometimes worse. Freefall position seems to be the worst for it. So, who's gonna coach me in freeflying now?
  21. Will you pack for me? I'll be there, the second weekend.
