  1. A little bit more here: http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/08/panasonics-hdc-sd1-and-hdc-dx1-avchd-1080i-camcorders-loosed/ Compression is variable If it has a remote, it MIGHT be good - time will tell and I doubt I will be the first kid on the block with one but the time of tapeless video is coming soon I think. illegible usually
  2. This looks good. Have to wait and see if it fits our needs http://www.dvguru.com/2006/11/08/panasonic-releases-2-new-avchd-1080i-camcorders/ illegible usually
  3. HOly shit that was funny. illegible usually
  4. I am so jealous. That is one wicked looking canopy. If you ever want to part with it, I'd be VERY interested. illegible usually
  5. Understood. Just pointing out that it is possible. Just not ready for us poor skydivers... illegible usually
  6. actually panasonic has several HD cameras that use solid state recording. http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelList?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&catGroupId=34401 They just need to be a little smaller (and a lot cheaper) before you'll see many skydiving. illegible usually
  7. Off topic responce to: Not quite true. I had one for 15 very nice years. Best dog I ever had - BUT - you had better be willing to really spend a LOT of time working with them and getting them excercise. Mine used to run beside my bike and I had to run her about 5 miles every day or she would practically drive you nuts. She was the smartest, most loyal dog I ever had and was absolutely great with kids. Only dog I ever knew that would actually climb trees. illegible usually
  8. It hasn't happened to my current camera but I have had a similar problem in the past. My guess is that your heads are misaligned slightly and the camera does need to be mechanically repaired. When I had mine done 2 years ago it cost about $200 at a local shop. The fact that it clears up when you whack it indicates that something is shifting inside the transport mechanism - that is what mine was doing according to the tech that repaired it. The cam is still working fine, but no longer used for jumping. illegible usually
  9. But maybe I have to spell it out for you though. Lets make it close to home. You find documentation in 2003 that I am abusing children. You know I am up for election in 2006 so you hold on to the docs until such time as you can get the max impact from the releas of those documents. Are you a crook? YES. (edit to add: I am not actually a crook, but agree that one that withholds evidence of a felony crime, is himself a criminal) illegible usually
  10. It can (and has to this point to my knowledge) be done without the minor being named. Are you the one that thinks it's ok to jack off while IM'ing a 16YO? illegible usually
  11. No, I figure your outlook will change for the better and you will become protective of your children in the same way that this boy's parents did. Hopefully you won't allow your children to be exploited by the press for political gain...hopefully. I am a parent. If I found out my kid was being sent IM's like this from a congressman (or anyone else for that matter) there would truely be hell to pay. I really wouldn't give a damn what position the sender was, I would take any means necessary to assure he couldn't act out his perverse fantasy with any child. IMO any parent that knew of this behavior and allow it to continue is neglectign their responsibility to that child. illegible usually
  12. I suppose that a young girl raped by her uncle should just keep quiet as well since it could be damaging to his career? It is illegal and quite disgusting to try to solicit sex with a minor. *(unless of course you are a minor-then it's just naughty)* Don't even try to turn Mark Foley into a victim. He isn't. You may be deluded, but you are getting lonely on this one. illegible usually
  13. No. That isn't the question at all. Nice attempt to blame the messenger though. illegible usually
  14. Not too bad considering some of the shots must have been rushed. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2512737 illegible usually

  16. Yeah, shouldn't it be the other way 'round? illegible usually
  17. I've had really good experiance with reciever (football) gloves. If it's colder, the tackified linemans gloves work really good. gloves like these: http://www.sportsdepot.com/footballgloves.html aren't the cheapest but they have good grip, good tactile sensation and hold up well in our demanding environment. Check your local sporting goods store to see if they carry some and try 'em on. illegible usually
  18. From reuters http://today.reuters.com/news/articleinvesting.aspx?type=bondsNews&storyID=2006-09-29T195629Z_01_N29387735_RTRIDST_0_POLITICS-FOLEY-UPDATE-1.XML Is it a witch hunt or just another scumbag politician? illegible usually
  19. Just a bump to an old thread. I just recieved this in an email. Another virgin mary sighting... http://www.divine-interventions.com/mary.html illegible usually
  20. I made one jump there with my wife last weekend (Thanks Urban) and as usual the people were great. basically, Eugene skydivers is using a field a few miles to the north for landing and running a shuttle back to the airport. The landing field is big, with lots of outs, but there is a river just to the north that could eat any poorly spotted cut-aways. If you want to read the local press about Urban's fight look HERE: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=eugene+skydivers&btnG=Search+News illegible usually

  23. thought this was from http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A157187 This enigmatic 'sport' roughly consists of playing 'chicken' with the Earth from high altitudes, wearing nothing more than a fabric safety mechanism housed in a bag anchored around your crotch. This can be attested posthumously by those skydivers who have left their mark in, on, and/or scattered in pieces about this world: the Earth has yet to flinch. Probably started by accident or on a drunken bet, some think that after a long, dusty, laborious, and largely cable-free evolution, skydiving is proof-positive that our evolution has not only stopped, it has in fact started to devolve. And when you consider that many people who practice this sport tend to have monosyllabic names that rhyme with various grunting noises, this claim is not without its merits. Non-skydivers will never really understand the passion skydivers have for their sport, but let me give you an idea: put quite simply it's as exciting as waking up and realizing you've been sleeping at the wheel of your car, you're going a hundred-and-twenty miles per hour and a very large truck is coming directly towards you. Only, your car happens to have a parachute that slows you down to about ten miles an hour but does nothing to the truck. Be sure to bend your knees! illegible usually
