    atmonauti...

I'm not so sure. Flocking is a lot more easy to do big-ways on than atmonauti; this is especially true if you are the leader of the group. Also, generally speaking, in flocking and tracking there is an existing leader. In flocking, the relative wind is hitting the leaders' frontside. In tracking, the relative wind is hitting the leaders' back. Atmonauti is a more even playing field, Isn't it? There usually wouldn't be a leader present - just a base (whether they be on their back or stomach). For these reasons and more, I believe that it falls into its own catagory. Also, I've seen freeflyers that have 1000+ jumps who can NOT fly relative at a 45-degree angle. Flying relative isn't as difficult in a track or in a flock. You must agree that atmonauti adds difficulty to relative forward movement in the sky. I'll speak for myself when saying that I am more careful about which/how-many jumpers fly with me at a 45-degree angle. No doubt about it. Yikes!!!

    Birthdays

Great pic by the way. Best birthday I had was nothing special. Just at my house when turning the age of 12. We had all of my friends over for a party. There were enough of us to play an actual game of soccer. The most memorable part about it was that I felt lucky to have enough friends to do that. That must sound silly.
  4. Good idea. I like you. I'll do just that.
  5. Awwwwwweeee!!!!!!! You figured me out. Shucks!

    atmonauti...

That looks more like tracking. Atmonauti is supposed to be on a deeper angle. It would be cool to see a larger formation of atmonauti flyers on video. My guess is that it will be done soon enough.
  9. Couldn't help it, but this goes to back-in-the-day. Well, to about 1999 at least: http://www.geocities.com/freeflymatrix Oh my, did I do that!!!!!!
  10. Try flying so every possible section of your body. Palms included, counts. Palms up allows for spilling air. Just your hands can make you initiate a 360-turn. I personally initiate Barrel-rolls with my palms against the relative air (and lack-there-of on the opposite side). I would imagine that spinning around without my palms would take much longer and would make it look less graceful. Every part of your body making a directional difference will count in any position you're are flying. Mindset is half of learning this stuff, practice is the other.
  11. I don't have sex to enjoy the sensation of freeflying. Nor do I freefly to, intimately, connect with a woman (at least, not all of the time). Sorry dude, that's apples and oranges. I can't begin to compare them - or select one over the other. If I had to spend the rest of my life with only one - the other part of me would be dead. Either way, a tragedy will have occured.
  12. Some people argue that side-mount camera's by Sony are the best on the market. Personally, I would agree that you will get the best quality from Sony's Handicams. It is very rare to see another kind of side-mount. Be sure to stay away from JVC or panasonic though. Those are definite "NO"'s! The canon handicams are less ergonomical than the Sony series'. Meaning, the batteries are on the wrong side, the screen opens the wrong way, or they just aren't small enough yet. Good luck!
  13. Well, my Canon just got here! I'll be sure to let you dudes know the skinny on freeflyin it (pics of the mount, some shots from it, etc.). This will take about a month to post though. The GL2 camera is noticably liter than the VX2000. Another thing that I like about it is that it is less long (but more wide); I believe that this would make for a better flying scenario too. My only concern at this point will be flutter or image stabilization issues.

  15. Yeah, the GL2 is a 3-CCD camera. Hopefully it works out for the better; it is probably already sitting on my doorstep.
  16. Have you seen pictures of crack users when they aren't on crack? It isn't a pretty site. Sure, on the ground we're not as happy as in the air, but I'll never be as unhealthy as a crack-user. Have you looked at us? Skydivers are beautiful people - in the plane, in the air, on the ground.
  17. Oh damn. I didn't know that the judges gave out a re-jump. That kinda stinks considering our situation. Oh well, like I said, 'watch out' - we will not make the same mistake on doing the compulsaries out of order. LOL
  18. I don't know, but you better clear it up before you have your own gear and about 50 jumps. ...that's for sure!
  19. I had "Slacker" on my cutaway for my last rig. Now it says "Bad Ass". I've been looking for a suitable color for one that says "Dig Me".
  20. Congrats to me for being the only person to mess up the CRW dudes! Wups!!!!
  21. Sure, Jank rocked!!!...and their routines kick ass in freefly too. But everyone who put up there own time and money to compete deserves recognition.
  22. Everyone had such a great time down there. Thanks Bella-babe!!! Methane kicked as down there! The rounds they submitted were impressive - very clean movements and performed SNAPPY!!! The Eric's and I will be back with a vengence for next season. Perhaps we'll even read the rules before we get down. That means - watch out! We're coming back greener than ever and over-easy! Nationals is such an experience that it was worth the trip just to be there. I wouldn't miss the opportunity to reunite with old friends and make all the new ones. Our thanks goes out to Lake Wales and all of the officials for handling the comp like pros. CROSSKEYS REPRESENT!
  23. Help me out if you can. I'm very close to making a decision on a 3-Chip camera. It looks like the Canon GL2 has got the bells and whistles that I need without being as cumbersome as the vx2000. Plus there isn't any reports of flutter... Anyone have any positive or negative info on the setup? Let me know. thanks ahead.
