WARNING: DO NOT TALK ABOUT SKYDIVING WITH BOSS!
akarunway replied to RkyMtnHigh's topic in The Bonfire
I had a Saftey Man on a const. site try to get me run off the job when he found out I jumped. Said that was unsafe behaviour and it prolly carried over to my work I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. -
And add to that: NEW YORK (Jan. 14) - The federal government is planning to overhaul its employee drug testing program to include scrutiny of workers' hair, saliva and sweat, a shift that could spur more businesses to revise screening for millions of their own workers. BIG Brother's knocking at the door AP file New federal standrds could lead to tougher testing of employees by business. Um. I don't know is it? I was just hoping some of my more politically educated brethren have any info on this. If it's true it PISSES ME OFF. I searched and can't find their pension plans as they're so buried in legal mumbo jumbo it ain't funny I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Forwarded to me. I searched and found their salaries but I can't find the pension plans. Is this for real? GET A BILL STARTED TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOC. SEC. 2004 Election Issue!! This must be an issue in "2004". Please! Keep it going. ---------------------------------- SOCIAL SECURITY: (This is worth reading. It is short and to the point.) Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all pract! ical pur poses their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. For example, former Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275,000.00 during the last years of their lives.! This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries. Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA....ZILCH.... This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds; "OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, -every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer)- we can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 y ears and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits! Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made. That change would be to jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us ... then sit back and watch how fast they would fix it. If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe good changes will evolve. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Thanks. Now that I think about it I think they were on the backside of the risers. Hey, I was a student, I didn't have a clue. They told to jump, I jumped. So what kind of system was I jumping? I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
-
Maybe a dumb question but when I first started jumping (98, rental gear) somebody asked about my three rings, said they where upside down. I was told it was a reversed 3 ring system. Is that the same as reversed riser system? I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Me too. But not for long I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

In Fla. last I checked you can get a dealer license, pretty easy as long as no convictions(can own full autos) and concealed firearm permit is easy. You can buy anthing you want at a gun show w/ no problem, shit, check the classified in the papers and they'll deliver them to your home. I love Fla. I bought a new 1999 Dodge Ram P/U. Paid cash. After many, many problems before even 5000k miles(assembled in Mexico) I finally called up and told the GM, "I'm gonna call channel 2, 6, and 9 and have them across the street and I'm going to DRIVE THIS FUCKING TRUCK THROUGH YOUR SHOWROOM WINDOW AND PARK IT ON TOP OF YOUR TWO VIPERS". I had a whole new front end on the truck a couple days later.. Extreme yes, but that's what it took I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
