  4. "In fairness, people die for lies they believe in all the time. Just look to the current conflicts in the middle east. Do you think Koresh's followers died because they knew a truth others were blind to? During the Crusades, which team was dying for the truth?"_______________________________________________No. They died cause the fuckin FBI and their cohorts > KILLED THEM. Won't even go on about Ruby Ridge I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

  6. OK, you asked for it. Your hair stinks, your clothes stinks, your vehicle stinks, your breath stinks, you throw lit butts out of the windows and start fires, you dump you ashtrays at the stop light instead of taking it home and dumping it in the trashcan. When I have to do a paint job in the house of a smoker, I have to wash everything down that I intend to paint. You have a two year old in the backseat, and somehow, think that opening the window 1/2 inch is keeping the child from breathing smoke. Give those little lungs a break. After opening packs of cigs for twenty years, and looking directly at the warning, you still think that you have the right to sue the tobacco company for ruining your life. There! If I think of more, I'll come back. Here's another one. The worker who wastes time lighting up, squinting through smoke, taking the cig out of his mouth to exhale, and thinks that he is as valuable as the nonsmoker. First off. Thanks for all the responses. Now. As I said I don't smoke around anyone who doesn't. I don't throw butts anywhere other than an ashtray. I don't have kids a wife or animals and I think the human race pretty muck sucks so I keep my distance from people and expect them to give me MY SPACE. That way you don't have to smell my breath or hair. I've met some pretty stinky people that don't smoke including SWEATY SMELLY skydivers, people w/ nasty food on their breath etc. I know smokin is a nasty habit and hard as hell to quit. Trust me. If I can't have my alcohol and nicotine when I want it you REALLY wouldn't like me. (is that a terrorist threat nowadays?) peace out Edit to add: And farting in the plane really is so uncool I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  7. Does anyone know what the charges are? The only mention I could find of Patriot Act or terrorism came from non-US sources. None of the US media sources I checked mentioned those hot button topics. Keith Olberman(sp?) didn't mention it. Long before the passage of The Patriot Act, it was a federal offense to threaten, harass or intimidate a flight attendant. From what I've read, the charged couple scored a trifecta. It doesn't matter how shitty a flight attendant acts, you can't pull the kind of nonsense those two pulled on an airliner. It's about reading comprehension, folks. Get it right before sounding off..... in the wrong direction. Speaking of reading comprehension the flight attendant is a man. I saw that. No doubt he is gay and hates hetro sex I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  8. If I were to say it it would me something to the effect of "I'll have your job for harassing me". Prolly what he should have said in this day and age I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  9. Just a foretaste of Hillarycare for you... once you make the gov't responsible for paying your insurance, they get to say what you can/can't do, health-wise. San Mateo is just jumping the gun a bit, that's all. Look at the posts for people wanting insurance coverage for jumping - you think .gov is going to let you jump and mess up their resource? No friggin way, dude.... My insurance is covered by my union plan. And my pension too!. To bad they pissed away 1. something billion dollars of that money a couple yrs back. Fucking unions suck as bad as the the washinton crowd I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  10. I smoke but don't around anybody that doesn't. What the fuck is this world coming to? Flame away on us smokershttp://www.smdailyjournal.com/article_preview.php?id=66988 Not in my own fuckin car. Gimme a break I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  11. I'll go along w/ Gwain on that one. Fuckin all or nothing. Shit or get off the pot so to speak If they had let the troops go in full bore, I think there would be a lot less problems now. With that said, it would never happen - the news and Congress can make too much political hay over any/every thing that "goes wrong". I guess we need to go this route then?>Kucinich Calls for Cutting Off Iraq War Funds "That’s the only way we’re going to end this war." Nov 15, 2006 Congressman Kucinich called Wednesday for cutting off funding of the Iraq war, as the surest way out of Iraq. His statements were made in an interview by Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman. "I want to say that there's one solution here, and it's not to engage in a debate with the President, who has taken us down a path of disaster in Iraq, but it's for Congress to assume the full power that it has under the Constitution to cut off funds. We don't need to keep indulging in this debate about what to do, because as long as we keep temporizing, the situation gets worse in Iraq. "We have to determine that the time has come to cut off funds. There’s enough money in the pipeline to achieve the orderly withdrawal that Senator McGovern is talking about. But cut off funds, we must. That's the ultimate power of the Congress, the power of the purse. That's how we'll end this war, and that’s the only way we’re going to end this war. "We need to shift our direction." "We have to take a whole new approach. We’re spending over $400 billion a year, money that's also needed for healthcare, for education, for job creation, for seniors. We have to take a new look at this. We need to be a strong country, but strength isn't only military. Strength is also the economic strength of the people, their chance to have good neighborhoods. We spend more money than all the countries of the world put together for the military. "It's time for us to start to shift our vision about who we are as a nation, because if we don't do that -- we’re borrowing money right now to wage the war in Iraq. We’re borrowing money from China. We’re not looking at our trade deficit. We’re not looking at conditions, where people are going bankrupt trying to pay their hospital bills. We need to shift our direction, and the direction has to be away from the continued militarization of the United States society." 12. Some people(Shell) are working on more environmentally friendly ways to extract and refine oil shale;I wouldn't completely write it off yet. If we find a way to use oil shale it will only prolong our demise but hey it might mean cheap jumps for the rest of our life time. No worries. Canada will come and save the day w/ their tar sands I'd go go up there to work but it's to freakin cold and you get taxed to death by the U.S. AND Canadahttp://money.cnn.com/2006/10/04/news/economy/oil_sands/index.htm I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

  18. But the bigger question is how will we be impacted? The World's oil reserves have been declining for decades. Technically, we've been running out for over a century. On a tangential issue, why are oil prices not rising? The election was eight days ago. 20. I was there in 72 as a kid. They told us beware going off base (Clark) or the Huks would behead you. Same shit different day. Was even more fun when Marcos declared martial law. Had to be done w/ your drinkin and ho's and back on base by midnight or be shot. Man I used to roam them hills and mountains too. Beautiful territory I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
  21. I wonder why it surfaced at all. - "Gotcha!", maybe. But tipping one's hand like that would be bad form for a sub skipper, IMO. Better to egress the area and make a report back to Operations once safely in the clear. Their target will be more wary from now on. The other side of that could be to force the surface target group to expend more resources like fuel, sonobuoys, flight hours, etc. to deal with the challenge, but I wouldn't do make them do that unless it was for a very good reason; e.g., a feint of some kind to draw the surface group's attention away from something else. If the surface group was inside of territiorial waters, the skipper may have had orders to give the surface group a surprise party. If that's the case, the mission was accomplished. mh A little more from todays news>http://www.washtimes.com/national/20061114-123345-3750r.htm I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
