It was actually my mum who inspired me to jump. She did a couple of S/Ls just after 40. When I told my famliy I was doing AFF she was the only one who said to go with it.

I haven't actually had much experience of XP home (I work mostly with corporate stuff) if you go to control panel and look in Admin tools, Event viewer, system, there may be a message time stamped around the last time you tried to burn a CD to no avail. 5 weeks to go now, up and walking no crutches although I have to use one crutch to walk properly. However, fully weight bearing, can do one footed heal lifts so it is looking good for 31st August. My main problem will be getting all the time off I think. Not sure how keen they will be to let me have a week off when I've been out for 10 weeks, but I did get the doc to sign me back into work a couple of weeks early so hopefully that will influnce the decision.
