Please don't take this the wrong way but: Remember this is NOT a democracy here, what HH says goes, doesn't have to explain himself. I tend to think of it like being on a real DZ, DZO owns the places, sets the rules, and we follow them or we don't jump there. All the good times I have had jumping/posting here have always outweighed the negatives (even if I don't agree with the rules all the time). It's their ball, they can take it away if they want to. A Rigger mate of mine tells the story that when he learnt to jump he asked his instructor this question. The reply: 2/3 of your disposable income for the rest of your life. You start looking at your TV wondering, how many jumps is that worth? I thought this was BS (I only had 2 jumps when he told me) but it seems to be so true now. "This isn't an iron lung, people. I had one AFF instructor (who if I hadn't had I'd probably given up on skydiving, he taught me relax and have FUN, gotta love him) who, to be honest, was larger than average, as it were. He had one of the baggiest suits I've ever seen, we actually got 2 people in it when he wasn't around. Sorry not really on topic but hey, brings back happy memories. Back on subject, get what ever suit you need for the disciplne you are flying, just make sure it is baggy as hell. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -
Cool, I'm looking forward to escaping the cold weather here in the UK. Still can't really believe I'm going, my buddy (skydivejersey on these pages)rang me today said fancy a trip to the States. 3 hrs later all booked and we are off Wednesday morning. Welcome, I got my folks to pay for a cypress. You know the routine, "Hey Dad, got a rig, main parachute, reserve and harness, gonna jump it soon. btw the way have you heard about these cool little things called AADs, you don't really need one but..."
