The Murderer, The Sex Change, and Your Tax Dollars
jjiimmyyt replied to Trent's topic in Speakers Corner
Nice hyperbole. It's nuts to try to make this a lynch mob. People don't want to pay for a sex change on a murderer or anyone else. Simple. I'm not trying to call you guys a lynch mob, just pointing out that we have judges and laws and we should follow them. If you don't like that fine. "This isn't an iron lung, people. ??? You haven't presented a logical reason yet as to why taxpayer money should fund this surgery. The MAN is a convicted killer. Why should he get elective surgery? See post 30. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -

I'm sorry but when 43.6 million (according to USAToday) or 60 million according to Moore (who I cant stand) don't have health insurance and large amounts of those that do have insurance and are denied care due to spurious reasons then you cant have the best system. Maybe the best qualified Drs, best hospitals and procedures more than probably, but best system, no way. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on the US, I loved my time at Lake Wales and Perris and met some cool people and look forward to going back. It is a cool place, just it is not as rosey as sometimes it is made out. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -

If a mental condition requires medical treatment which is acceptable to the majority of medical people who have assessed the case I would not consider it elective. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -
It was meant mostly in jest. Yes there are people here that blindly follow one way or the other and I skip over their posts but for the most I like to think they don't follow the left or right like sheep. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

I would imagine that if all that if you took the profit motive out of health care in the US and still spent the same proportion of your GDP on health care you could easily afford a decent standard of care for all. That is why I love the health service where I live, we pay relatively little tax here in Jersey, certainly less than in the US, and have excellent health care. But this all a different issue than the threads intent. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -
I hope that stuff is not addictive, you seem to be banging on about it a lot lately "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

After reading the article not only is he playing the race card he is playing the whole deck. If he did it once, and apologised he might have got away with it but he has shown himself to be homophobic which is no longer acceptable. Bet you didn't expect that response from me now? None of what you guys has any reason or logic behind it. You all seem to come from a point of retribution and hate. This person is scum, no doubt, but a judge has ruled that the surgery should be carried out, although he failed to order it done due, I would imagine, due to public sentiment such as you have demonstrated. Its funny how you guys are all about law and order apart from when it comes to rapists/murders and Scooter Libby. Life is not fair, but the thing about being human, to me at least, is to strive as much as possible to make it so. Thats why you have laws and judges rather than lynch mobs and lynchings. If you are going to do that you have to be fair to everyone that includes the person mentioned. As for honest hard working people not being able to afford decent health care that is a different issue. I suggest you go see or download Sicko and find that not every country has a health system such as yours. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -

It is not a question of whether they deserve to be made a woman. The fact is qualified medical people have said that gender re-assignment should be carried out. The authorities have a duty of care to provide medical treatment for this person. Therefore it should be carried out. One thing we can agree on, they are a piece of shit and should be in prison. This asshat gave up his rights when he decided to take another person's life. If he wants to be a woman then put him in with Bubba over in cellblock C. I'm sure Bubba will train him to be a proper bitch in a matter of a few days. I thought the whole point about putting rapists and murders in prison is what they do is wrong. To then say its ok for them to raped whilst in prison is just barbaric. I'm not saying it should be a holiday camp but FFS... "This isn't an iron lung, people. And how does this require surgery? Will he die w/o it? Is it causing a physical disability? Sorry, but this is a mental problem, not a medical problem. What do we do with a nutcase who thinks he is a dog? Perform surgery to add a tail and a muzzle? A mental problem is a medical problem. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -

If this person really does have a defined medical condition that requires surgery do you not agree that it should happen? Just because I don't understand it doesn't mean that it should not happen. The reasoning to stop it because it would a security nightmare is totally secondary. The whole argument that they would be raped etc is totally laughable as authorities and some of the public seem to think that goes with the territory. "This isn't an iron lung, people. Where I live (Jersey, part of the UK put internally independent) you can get a permit for almost anyway weapon, (including 50 cal stuff). When my stepmum's dad died we found his old service revolver and several german weapons he acquired off of some Germans a few years back. I took them to the local cops and they asked if I wanted a port d'armes (gun permit). So virtually anyone can have a gun, but we have no gun crime. Hell, we have virtually no crime apart from kids getting pissed up and nicking cars and a few smackheads. The only time the armed response unit gets called is when some nutjob takes potshots at birds from his back garden. I think we had a bank job a few years back Why is that? My guess is we are relatively affluent, socially inclusive society. It is not guns that cause crime, it is poverty and social exclusion. I think if you fix that (fuck knows how) you are well on the way. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Yeah, lets kill them all and let God sort it out. Except there is no god. If medical experts, not you and me, have deemed this proper who are we to judge. I cant understand the attitude that because people are in prison they deserve bad treatment, it just seems so medieval. People make jokes about prison rape etc. they are not funny. Yes, some of these people have done horrific things and have had their liberty denied for a reason. However we need to put ourselves above them. Denying them proper medical care and ignoring their abuse just seems wrong. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave -

Look, even if you are joking leave comments like that out of here. This is a serious discussion and should be left to people with experience/qualification to comment. How would you feel if someone chopped a perfectly landable canopy then had a mal on their reserve? It has happened. Idiotic comments like yours are not needed. "This isn't an iron lung, people. Male marsupials usually have a 2 pronged penis and the females 2 vaginas (or at least 2 opening to the uterus). How cool is that? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Depends on how suck-cessful she was. No snowball for me. But since only two women have ever been able to get the job completely done with just a BJ in my entire life.. It is not usually an issue. Oral is just Foreplay. So you've had 2 bj's ever? wow "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
