I do respect the artists, i think I was in a bad mood and went off on one just a tad. My apologies. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  2. I see your reasoning but the discussion is not about excuses and defence tactics when going to trial. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  3. And that is the reason why you should have a knife with you. Hey, I've got a hundred jumps or so, I know all the shit "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  4. Yo, whats up my nigger! "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  5. Not necessary. Some criminals have faked it before - like saying they were insane at that moment. Mostly to avoid death penalty, or to reduce charges. Could you explain your line of thought there, I dont quite get why you are not nuts if you kill people for sexual purposes? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  6. Ok, sorry for going the wrong way. Why do you think the entitlement thing has arisen? Is it because less advantaged people have been patronised and given handouts rather than hand ups? I kind of lean that way. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  7. The only way e-voting can be regarded as valid is if the software, firmware and silicon are open to public inspection. Don't get me wrong, I'm a techie through and through, but if you cant audit the process due to commercial sensitivity then it has no valid reason to be involved in elections. Imagine if they still counted papers and said, sorry, we cant tell you our methods, we used base X which is commercialy sensitve. You tell them to fuck off surely? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  8. Doesn't someone who commits a 'sadistic sex murder' have to be intrinsically nuts. I can see a sane person commit murder (fuck, you should have the guy that bragged to me about relations with my little sister, thanks to friends I didn't kill him) but to do so in a way that you actually take pleasure in the killing, then you are nuts and need to be locked up in a very secure hospital, not killed. Mental humans are not rabid dogs and should not be treated as such. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  9. While I don't disagree, I think todays "entitlement syndrome" seems to play into it, as well. Very valid. People seem to value objects over people and that is just plain wrong. I cleansed myself recently, got rid of everything I did not need. I ended up with my PCs which I need for work (but gave away 2), 1/4 my clothes, my books (I've kept every book since I was 8, you don't throw knowledge away), my skydiving stuff, my push bike and photos/letters. It felt so good, I didn't feel tied down anymore by my collection of crap that we all acumalate. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  10. Do you know what he said? That would give context but all the outlets seem to be avoiding reporting what he actually said. I was about to try and define words that shouldn't be said but realised all my gay mates (OK I only have 2 that I know of) use them all the time about themselves. I guess context counts massively. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  11. then mad/bad, see my response above. Where I live we are very lucky, there are about 100k people, we get 1 murder roughly every 7 years, 1 or so reported rapes a year. Some murders can also be attributed to socio-economics, if you don't feel that you are valued by society then you don't value society. Therefore you may feel no qualms about sticking a knife (in the UK just for JR) or capping someone. Put it this way, if people tell you are shit repeatedly, at some point you start acting like shit. I'm not trying to make excuses but this seems to be the way it is. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  12. Victim less crimes. Let me think, Speeding on an open road Smoking homegrown pot Skateboarding in public areas without grinding on every shit you see Being drunk off your ass and not getting in a fight or pissing/puking every where. So that is 4 off the top off my head. Guess which one I've been arrested for twice as an adult. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  13. If so why do areas of poverty experience more crime. People who have no money and feel dissociated from society tend to lack respect for that society and don't feel bound by the norms. Therefore they feel it is OK to jack the guy with the nice coat, fat wallet and iPhone. What the fuck has the 'rich' guy done to help? Don't get me wrong, I'm not making excuses just looking to see what we all can do to make everyones lives better. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  14. That is a fair point. Do you think we should look at why they are not learning their lessons? Even if we cant fix them we can learn lessons from why and apply them to the next that comes along. Because one will "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  15. I do have one class of criminals I'd like to see do more time. White collar criminals who defraud and fuck the pensions of millions. Now they may not have hit anyone but I guess if you asked anyone who lost serious wad with Enron they would have rather been kicked in the nuts than what happened. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  16. I agree with 1 and 2. Why do we put people who do drugs in prison. As long as you fuck your self up and no one else go for it, have fun. Legalise all drugs now, take the 'cool' factor out of it and I reckon a lot of kids out there wouldn't go do them. You also remove the profit motive, who would buy on the street corner some shite cooked up in someone house when they can go to the chemist and buy some proper quality shit, knowing what strenth it is so they don't OD. This is what happened in the UK before the '70s. Heroin addicts (they were not smackheads) used to queue up outside Boots in the AM, then go shootup as required throughout the day. They were functioning addicts and led semi productive lives without the need to go on the rob as their Drs gave them what they needed. It is a shame they were not helped kick it but at least they were not out nicking peoples shit. For crimes against the person a few days in pokey then weeks (maybe months) of community service doing what you do best, for the community. If you aint got no skills, then you get taught one, then you work for the community paying off your debt and the debt for the skills you've learnt. Then you have a skill, have paid off your debt, and have something to go on with. If you cant learn a skill then pick up rubbish for a while. 3 I have a problem with. Repeat persistent offenders should be looked at why they are doing it. If they are mad (which lots of them are, at lot of the time drug related, see above) off to hospital till they find a way to help, if they cant enjoy the slippers. If they are truly bad then lock the fuckers up, see you laters. But at what point do you say, right, you've done this 3 times off to prison. What if some one commits a crime when they are 18, then 28, then 58? should they goto jail? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  17. We also have judges who should be impeached for the shit they do. What like finding mentally (and like really mental, climbing up the wall shit, not gender issues) guilty of murder and sentencing them to death? How about trying children (usually black) as adults because they did something really bad and the people demand 'justice'. That kind of thing? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  18. Instead of arguing about guns and whether they should be legal or not, here is a novel suggestion: Let us do something about the causes of crime and the reasons why it occurs. Yes, there are some cunts out there that will do crime whatever but there are socio-economic reasons why people commit crimes. You don't see many middle class people jacking people on the street. I am not anti-gun and held some WW2 stuff for a while that my step grandfather liberated but after a few months i realised I'd never use them for sport and as a family we decided to donate them to a local museum (where I live, the Channel Islands, we were the only UK soil to be occupied during WW2, lots of bunkers etc here). I still hold my port d'armes and go clay shooting or .22 every year or so. I'm not particulary pro-gun either, a gun is just a tool, it takes a person to make it a weapon. Anyway, what do you guys, on both sides of the argument, think we can do to reduce crime itself, rather than blathering on about guns good/bad ? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave

Copyright issues aside be careful. It is often distributed with spyware if not got directly from there site. If you don't care about copyright you are better using bit torrent and thepiratebay.net but that is full of mostly copyrighted material that the RIAA/MPAA will prosecute you for if you redistribute it. So stop uploads :o). Before DSE or others that work in the industry chip in I do not condone copyright infringement and you should respect the artists and technicians that made the effort to create content you want. And also support the RIAA/MPAA acting, as some have suggested, in violation of the RICO act, in suing mothers of children for hundreds of thousand of dollars because their 6 year old downloaded a track. 20. Been thinking about this. Over here it is now common for kids to use the words gay or gayer meaning bad or crap. Now I guess the useage came from a homophobic start but it has evolved from there. It is used now without intent of derogation of homosexuals. Is it now acceptable to use these words? Gay didn't always mean homosexual. Any one out there who is homosexual (I kind of want to use gay but doesn't fit the context at all) care to chime in? Your input would be appreciated. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  21. What is funny is that he is using racial sterotypes such as 'booming black man's voice' etc to make his case. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  22. I have to ask this. Are you the one in prison wanting this procedure? Fuck no, who in their right mind would want their dick turned inside out and fake tits? "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  23. As soon as you quoted Moore you credibility went right down the shitter. There are hundreds of stories where people come from other countries to get life saving procedures that are months out in federal systems. Once again, you can Z(think) you have the best. So go ahead and keep it. We do not want it and for dam sure we do not need it. I quoted Moore to give the high end and I think that is pretty obvious, sorry if I didn't make it clear enough. I quoted USAToday to give a more reasonable expectation of what is actually true. I would imagine you have no idea about the health system here in Jersey. For example I broke my ankle (rough guess how ) and when I turned up at the hospital I was seen immediately, had X-Rays within 30 minutes of walking through the door. I had to wait 8 hours for my food/water levels to go down, then was operated on by the senior Ortho Dr (who used to work at one of the leading UK hospitals). I was given a bed in a room with 1 other young guy who'd crashed his bike, spent 7 days eating Ok food, had full access to all drugs required. They even wanted to keep me in for 3 more days to make sure I didn't do anything to f up my ankle more. At no point in time did I have think how much does this cost, will my insurance cover it. And the nurses were pretty hot and they wheeled me into to the smoking room every couple of hours. They even moved me over by the window so I could watch the Dropzone, it is only about 2.5 miles away and I could just about see what was going on. So yeah, I think our system is pretty good. But we digress. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  24. I hate to play the old slippery slope argument because I know how it can be abused, but can you not see the precident this sets. Instead of letting the prison counsellor (provided by taxpayers) help him cope with the depression he has about being a guy we are to pay to change what it is about him that depresses him. I will speculate that good lawyers will then be able to argue that people who are depressed about their weight should be afforded subsidized liposuction. Ugly faces- Subsidized Facelifts. Overbite-Subsidized Orthodontics? Breast implants for female convicts. I can see your arguments. If it was deemed medically that those above example should go ahead I'd have to agree. I am not a Dr and am not going to challenge them on issues which I am not qualified to do so. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
  25. A prisoner has a right to medical treatment, yes? Mental issues are medical, yes? By carrying out this medical procedure, which the majority of medical people asked agree should happen, his mental issues will be resolved, yes ? A judge has said this should happen, yes? At first glance it does seem kind of silly that they should have their cock turned inside out on your dime but to me if all the above are true, and I think they are, then it should happen. I wonder how much the cost of fighting this versus just carrying it out are? I am aware they are trying to stop a precedent being set before anyway feels the need to point that out. "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
