    OK, point taken, but this entire discussion is about closing Racers and thats what I am refering to in my post above. well, we'll see about the gruntless, strainless, groanless closing next time I do one.     -Were you a Ranger? They made some nasty concoction out of the MRE coffee packet, crakers, cocoa, dry creamer, and sugar. I think that's what all went into 'Ranger Pudding'. Husband thought he'd introduce his new, young, beautiful wife to some Ranger traditions. His new, young, beautiful wife told him to shove it. ahhhh....NO. I was a Marine.     Jeez you not to bright are you? doh!! I do ANYTHING for my morning coffee. Ain't got no cup - but the pot holds ALOT of coffee. I'm with you. I've even eaten instant coffee right out of the jar when I didn't have hot water or a cup. Scars remind us that the past is real

    I do the same. If they bring it in packed, I ask them to go through the pull sequence - throw the PC, simulate a check, then cut away and pull. Sometimes, I'll grab their shoulder and shake them if they've done it a few times already. Scars remind us that the past is real

    about that last strip with the burning ring of fire.... When I started at MIT, my office mate lived in a dorm room that was a 4 room suite. He had one of his 'roomies' that was a grad student in Computer Science....they never saw him during the day light, but 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the entire semester, he played Johnny Cash's Burning ring of fire.... My office mate moved out of that suite the next semester and as far as we know - ring of fire is still playing. All I had to do was start humming it in the office and he would go nuts.     Well, apparently they don't sell those in Canadia. Some such nonsense about branding yada yada yada. But there might be half a dozen hypothetical Cuban cigars in my bag. People will just have to seek me out to find out if that's an April Fools' joke or not.     You are leaving the closing loops nice and loose, right? You can tighten them after the pins are in place. If the loops are loose, use the part of the ripcord past the top pin to pull the pin into the loop. If you're trying to push it in (like every other pin you've ever seated) you're just asking for a hard time. okay - THIS information would have been very handy last night... Yeah, I had the loops cinched down and tight just like any other rig. I'll know better in 120 days since this is the only racer on the DZ. Scars remind us that the past is real

    reading the manual... put the hemostat in the wrong grommet because I did it like the pic but when it came time to run the bodkin through - that couldn't be right...unbag it and do over. flipping the damn over...and loosing the pilot chute The biggest thing - getting the top pin in! It was way too close to the hard housing and it took a little wrangling (and two ppl) to get it in. I will say the canopy went in the bag very easy. Scars remind us that the past is real
