You have to have 200 jumps to get your C license. So there is one. If you do all jumps from 13,500, that is about 360 or so to get 6 hours of free fall so there is a second. Scars remind us that the past is real

old man greg would be more than happy to tell you about it if you asked him...plus some. Scars remind us that the past is real

This is fourth tempo I've heard of this with. The others I've actually seen and was told of other tempos with this problem by old man greg at raeford. On the ones that came into our shop, if you take the lower control line with the cat eye at the ring, the toggle would be at the hip ring (or equivalent on the mlw). He had seen it multiple times and his field fix was to shorten the lower control lines - for some reason 16 inches sticks in my head but I will ask him again this weekend. He had seen many tempos come through like that and would immediately shorten the lines. After taking out the lower control line excess, the canopies flew and landed fine. Without doing that, there is absolutely no flare on the canopy. It's almost as if a batch of tempos got through with double (or even triple) the amount of lower control line length. I can't *WAIT* to see what excuse Arvel comes up with this time to miss the film festival. Maybe the clap in Ghana will keep him away? Scars remind us that the past is real -
Why I jumped a whole Season with a BASE rig from 13K ft...
jumper03 replied to badlock's topic in Gear and Rigging
Do you say that the main reason having 120s of reserve repack cycle in US that some riggers don't know how to assemble a reserve correctly? well that was certainly a stretch of the imagination I didn't anticipate. I was saying with more frequent inspection, more errors would be caught. But another poster rightly pointed out - more chance of other errors. But on and I and R - do you disassemble the lines? I don't unless I find they are screwed up. So yes - shorter repack cycles would find assembly errors faster. Packing errors could be more frequent. Scars remind us that the past is real -

so to really throw some controversy in here... If Germany had a 120 day repack cycle, instead of a one year cycle - this would have been caught much sooner. Scars remind us that the past is real -

RAEFORD! Big Way Weekend and Retirement Party for RATBOY!!
jumper03 replied to jumper03's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Okay - program update for all you boys and girls that are planning on coming to play. Friday afternoon - fun jumping, followed by drinking. If you want to volunteer to be in the base for the bigways, we can put together some base practice loads. Saturday - 7 am to noon - fun jumping and up to 15 ways to get people without much big way experience comfortable with more people in the air. Noon to sunset - bigways/formation loads. We'll go as big as we can. There will also be other loads going up, so if you don't want to play you can fun jump with other people that will be around (either freefly or belly). Sunset on - food and drinking. They are going to start cooking at 4:30 am on saturday. If you can bring something to contribute, please do. I hate to see Ratboy provide all the food for his own retirement party. And after watching Americas Funniest Videos - there will be a pinata (I'm going to win $10,000!!!) Sunday - same schedule as saturday. Bigway/formation loads start at noon to allow people to get over their hangovers (not everyone is superhuman like Arvel). If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email or pm. See you all in a few weeks. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real -
I think the mains probably fit. I'm guessing the cadets pack their own mains and looking at the containers - they probably could fix that with packing. If you look at the bottom flap - see all the wrinkles? I'm guessing if they make their pack jobs wider rather than taller, that bottom flap would smooth out and the grommet would move up. I have seen that same problem on many, many different rigs. Change the pack job and presto. Bulk distribution on the main can be just as important as on the reserve for a good looking rig/pack job. just my $0.0000002

yeah....I hadn't slept in three days because of being sick and I had JUST dropped off and was resting - FINALLY. Until someone decided to destroy my door... And I'm not the broke back rigging buddy - I don't wear pink sweat pants. Although in Greg's defense, I'm sure they were red....30 years ago. Scars remind us that the past is real -
That figure for $/lb to launch is all the way to orbit. The boosters and the canopies don't make it to orbit will be much lower. Still a mind boggling figure but not the $150 million. Scars remind us that the past is real
