Absolutely. Just so shocked that someone who is more closely involved with terrorism than most, could say such a thing. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

I work at an establishment for military higher education, we have British and foreign forces here. I've just gone past a group of students and heard an American (maybe he was Canadian, I can't tell) officer say 'Now the Brits know how it feels'. Unbelievable. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

No. 'No' is not a sentence. A sentence is a grammatical unit that is syntactically independent and has a subject that is expressed or, as in imperative sentences, understood and a predicate that contains at least one finite verb. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

Why is a female life more "valuable" than a male?

While I agree that the whole giving birth thing is amazing to say the least, they could not do so EVER without men. http://hum-molgen.org/NewsGen/04-2004/msg16.html Hmmm Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes -
I'd definately recommend Billy Elliot. Went to see Les Mis again the other week, was really disappointed, not nearly as good as the first time I saw it. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

Sometimes shit just happens. My parents are good people, my father is a retired Army office, he commanded 7GR http://www.regiments.org/regiments/southasia/gurkha/07GR.htm, he's OBE, MC bar etc. etc. My mother is a retired senior nurse and ex QA. http://www.army.mod.uk/qaranc/ They both have always used their time and expertise in trying to help people. But they've had their fair share of crap. My oldest sister joined a closed order and after a year had a nervous breakdown and was committed for six months. Not too bad. My middle sister ran away from home at the age of 19 to be with a married man, whilst pregnant she was caught in a fire and suffered 15% burns. Not too great, but liveable with. My other sister was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, had two brain operations which left her with a facial palsy and profoundly deaf. Sarah won't live to an old age. Too damn unfair. My stuff most of you know about. They were good parents, yes even though Clare ran away from home. They didn't deserve any of this. As a friend of my mother's once said "God must think your family is a bed of roses the amount of shit he puts on you". Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

That's exactly why I decided to never jump again. Having an internally fixed femur and a spinal injury (not skydiving related) resulting in not being able to walk without crutches is bad enough. I'd hate to bust my femur again and lose the leg completely. Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

I thought that was an urban myth. Coolio if it reallly happened. Here's one for you. I work as a Web Developer in a small team of people at a university. We're treated pretty much as computer services by the department, as we're in the same building and quicker to respond than the real computer services. Anyway, one day I get a phone call from a user. His mouse isn't working. When I go up to his office to check it out, he's waggling the mouse about whilst holding it 6 inches above the desk!!! Next Mood Swing: 6 minutes

Here's my take: Not having any 'shoulds' - He should behave like this, she shouldn't do that, etc. What someone does they do. Makes no difference what I think they 'should' do. It just gets me het up and makes for a row. Respecting the others point of view, putting yourself in their shoes. I guess this is pretty hard to do at times, I've found it easier when I have stopped taking things personally. Like if my partner is late, not thinking he was doing it just to piss me off! Self-talk can be really negative. You know, when we talk ourselves into bad states "Oh why didn't he call? Maybe he's busy. Maybe he's busy seeing someone else. Maybe he's busy seeing someone else and having a better time than he does with me. Maybe he's busy seeing someone else and having a better time than he does with me and so he's going to marry her!" So only using self-talk for good things -"I can do that really scary, exciting thing that will challenge me and make me feel good"

Fuck of death? I think, if that's the term, it describes pretty well how the gay community feels about it.

Sounds a lot like something Allen Carr would say? I agree, by the way. I gave up September last year and have tried to concentrate on the fact that I'm a non-smoker rather than an ex-smoker. That's helped, along with all the other suggestions of remembering the reasons for giving up in the first place. I probably only want a cigarette once a month now. Aftermid, its brilliant what you're doing, for yourself, for your loved ones, for everyone. Keep it up, there really is light at the end of the tunnel, and its not from a match!
