that reminds me of jango edwards (u know that hairy clown guy) singing a song where the refrain went like ".....chillums from amsterdam..." (the melodie was the same as in this terrible "schlager" tulips from amsterdam) and endend with him stumbling into dogshit (gross!) anyway - i know the netherlands is an extremely nice place and amsterdam was the only city i visited i could imagine to live in. great place to go (and definitely not because u have these coffee-shops

i was just wondering if there were any jokes on blondes. or has political correctness and the fear of getting sued for discrimination wiped them out? The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

if you decide to take matters in your own hand why should you bother to hear others arguments or thought. why should you ever even consider to listen, when you have an almighty army in your back that blows the shit out of every (imagined) enemy? as long as there are countries (no names) that do not have a slightest problem to do business with the utmost corrupt regime as long as there is some sort af bargain (politics, power, energy - u name it) or influence over a region i will mistrust them. in this case it's the states. the us govnt didn't give a shit abaout sadam, they didn't give a damn on the muslim freaks in afghanistan, the didn't..... the list is too long. the longer i think about it, the clearer the pattrenb becomes: It's reaction and niot action. and i guess in for successfull worldwide politics action – in the sense of longterm, wellthought planning – is way better than bombing a whole nation back to stoneage. that makes a lot of people very uneasy when it comes down to the attitude of the us-president and his followers. to much unrestricted, unquestioned power in the hands of a religious farmer with a cowboy attitude (for the religion thing - i can't find any difference between g.w. and the average muslim fanatic - both think only their way leads to a better life) but i'm only a dumbass european leaningf out of a plane The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

There they go your wordly posessions... but on the other hand - you don't need them anyway once you are out of the plane

If it's just a toy for some rich person it'll go down faster than you can imagine. especially if he/she is not rreally involved. it's definitely not enough to put a nice plane to a landing field and start business. from what i know this has never worked. to start a DZ and to bring it to prosper u have to deal with a lot of people not involved in skydiving and who follow very different goals. you have to make agreements with the other pilots who are just into flying. you have to make arrangements with the neighborhood of the DZ (noise etc). you have to bring experienced jumpers to the place and give them something they cant find anywhere else (or not within a certain area) all in all you should be really talented in communication - i you're not forget it. i've seen it and right now, "mr i'm rich so i run the place" is broke and the rest of the bunch is trying to restore business owning or running a DZ on a non-profit base is imho the best way to do it. if it turns out you actually make some extra dough - congrats! something between 2.5 & 3. if we go for h&p on our DZ its just because we have some of the students doing their low altitude exits and somebody just goes with it. no big deal from these altitudes. if i was to go lower than just because the pilot tell me to get my ass out of a freaking plane. and below 2k i'd sure as hell go for silver one thing i really like to do is a h&p from 13.5 on a beautyfull sunset when it's still warm - gives you tons of time flying your canopy and enjoying the scenery The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

I finally told one of my family members...(a success story)
feuergnom replied to BobB's topic in The Bonfire
what i don't undestand - why didn't you tell your relatives in the first place? it's not illegal, you can't get sued for jumping, It doesn't harm other people and it's not offensive. if my kid did some kinda sport i lack the understandig for, i'd sit down and think about it or let him explain why he's doing it. even if it wasn't my cup of tea i'd still encourage him to do it, 'cause it's his life anyway - congrats that u found the guts and i think it's great that your dad want's to do a tandem (i wish i still had my dad so i could suggest the same thing to him) blue skies - feuergnom The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666 -
i do not think of this as 'exciting' - it's just a way to point out a really dumbass question. as i'm not really into making fun of whuffo's i try to answer their questions in a polity way so maybe they get an understanding of my/our sport so they eventually decide to take a closer look and do a tandem or start jumping themselves - got the point? thanks for finding an excellent quote that pins down what i was trying to say (sometimes it really sucks if you are at a loss of words in a foreign language) if anything was so easy as a prejudice! they come in so handy. and the appeal to our lazyness. because its far easier to live with such a prejudice than to try and understand the why's and get involved. i don't think that reclusion is an adequate answer. cause - unless you get stranded on a remote island (which doesn#t happen that often) you have to be priviledged to make a choice to step aside or drop out... and for the motifs of our life: he man thats probably the oldest question ever. where do i come from, waht am i doing here and where do i go from here. not a simple task solving that puzzle.... oh nooohhhhhh! thats really gross! i work for a group of tm'S and if theres some dimwit whuffo complaining that our sport is so "unspectacular" and "nothing" happens i always ask them if they want to watch their jumping loved ones burn in... first of all - thx for beeing clear at last. aabout the situation in europe over the last years e.g. the kosovo-conflict and the civil war in ex-yugoslavia: thats our neighborhodd. and it was deeply depressing to see how the governments of most european countries acted (even "my" government was just bullshitting). no excuses accepted. it was lameassed, less than halfharted, mostly looking away from genocide. f*#@ing hypocrites! so i go along with you and once again - it takes guts, will and power to make decisions if - and only if - people in a country can't help themselves and get rid of a ridiculous regime. damn right! maybe "we" in the "old world" (what a stupid term indeed) are just scared shitless because of our history and tend to act like "sissies" (thx for the spelling-help) - there were far to many wars for no reason at all in europe. sometimes i wonder if there's anyplace here, were no blood was spillt whilst fighting battles I'd like to see the same. but i guess thats like believing in father christmas The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
