It can be argued the federal assault weapons ban of the 90's is what lost the dems control of congress. I agree Barack is smart and will likely not attempt any sort of federal ban, however, I would not say the same about Congress. And as far as anyone who thinks there are bigger fish to fry....did we forget about how involved the senate got with MLB and steroid use? Also they tried to get involved when Bellicheat was caught cheating. Do not underestimate the stupidity of our Congressmen. www.FourWheelerHB.com

I open the car door for my girl when we're getting in but not when we're getting out. She does the same for me when she drives. I bitch at her when she doesn't. Hey I deserve my door to be opened too! www.FourWheelerHB.com

Vote, don't vote. It is a right. Not a duty. And it certainly isn't rocket science. Why would we need further requirements to vote? Would it have a significant impact on the results of an election? I don't think so. A voter can actively research all the information that had any bearing on what or who they were voting on and still end up as equally confused as when they first started. In fact the more informed a person is probably just means they are less decisive because once a person makes a decision regarding their vote they need not research any longer and nothing short of criminal charges would sway their mind and even then it may not...*cough* Alaska *cough* Marion Barry *cough* So does that mean the folks who are most informed are moderate?....perhaps. Intelligence and education? What possible difference could this make? Absolutely none in my opinion. Take two individuals who are highly intelligent or highly educated or both and yet they will still disagree. Why is that? Is it because there is no right answer ? If so(which I believe is the case), how can intelligence and education have an impact on the results? That being said....we do need requirements. 18 years of age seems logical to me. We can't allow all children to vote and we have to draw a line somewhere so why not when the government considers a person an adult? Citizenship? Of course. Registration? I'm not even sure why it is we have a registration process. Now let's see if that's more understandable than yesterday. www.FourWheelerHB.com

holy christ people. 15 posts and still no clicky. where's dsquared? www.FourWheelerHB.com -
As I'm reading it you're setting up some limits on a spectrum (& please correct any mis-assumptions on my part); at one end "less informed" voters and at the other end "smart well-educated people." I would note that smart may not equal well-educated & vice-versa ... but that's my opinion. Or maybe it's more of a Venn diagram ... Is it ethical/moral to set/create some method for determining where along the spectrum one falls into the "too uninformed" range? What's the hurdle to move from "too uniformed"? VR/Marg Yeah I'm tired as hell so I wasn't sure if I understood what I wrote either. So yeah I'll revisit this tomorrow. www.FourWheelerHB.com

I actually think the larger the margin....the less informed the voters were. But that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is how people preach everyone should vote and then turn around and say only smart well-educated people should vote. And of course only smart well-educated voters voted their way. And besides...how does one become well-imformed when elections and state measures are not based on fact? www.FourWheelerHB.com

But isnt that the way it usually works? There is a chick that works here in the same building as me and she constantly has an elitist attitude (you know the opinionated bitch that nobody wants to talk to). Not only that but she's pretty much a fatass, and very sensitive about her weight. Anyway, she cought me on a "bad day" (I was pissed because I had to work late and couldnt go jump) and had the nerve to tell me how much of an anit-social prick I was because all I cared about is skydiving. Then I came up with something clever. I told her to go eat another doughnut and leave me the fuck alone (you have to be carefull to to call someone "fat" or you can get into big trouble). I havent had a problem with this person since. -

Ain't it weird how often a good one always hangs out with a bozo one? I think it has to do with self-esteem...on BOTH their parts. The bozo makes the other one look good and the bozo gets to live vicariously through the other....leftovers and all that. THAT explains the friend request I received from you yesterday! www.FourWheelerHB.com -
Firstly, you must mean two years as the campaigns are now two years long. Second, no. She's done. She may not think she's done, some of her supporters may not think she's done, but the Republican party is driving a stake through the undead corpse of Sarah Palin's political career. She may go back to Alaska and may even get support for another term as governor, but as far as national politics goes . . . done. Hey if a newly convicted felon can be reelected...anything can happen. Marion Barry got reelected after being caught with crack and a hooker. Palin's chances?....slim but not impossible. www.FourWheelerHB.com

That's what peaked my interest though. You're telling me that McCain's campaign did not look into her or did a full check on anything that might damage his ticket with her as a VP pick. I never did like her, but I think the GOP are using her as a scapegoat for their loss on Tuesday. It's too convenient that all this is now just coming up. Hath no fury like a woman scorned? I agree. They are using her for a scapegoat and trying to deflect the nation's attention away from the GOP, whom the majority of the people blame for our country's problems. This just might be the motivation she needs to hit the books for the next four years and come back in 2012 prepared to destroy her opponents. Could be interesting. www.FourWheelerHB.com

Keep in mind the Lee Harvey Oswald was only about 80 yards away with a scoped rifle. For a marksman, a very easy shot to make. During combat range training in the Marines I has able to hit the stick held by another Marine that was holding the target at 100 yards with an normally sighted M16. And I'm no Carlos Hathcock. www.FourWheelerHB.com
