Console and PC. At the moment I'm stuck on Neverwinter Nights 2 and have been since Xmas. I've played the hell out of CoD4 (Xbox 360) online but couldn't get into CoD World at War since they added unrealistic weapon attachments and dogs...wtf is with the dogs?! Tried WoW for about 30 seconds but I'm more of a purist D&Der when it comes to my fantasy RPGs. And no I'm not ashamed like Livendive is. www.FourWheelerHB.com

Geek - Someone who has a ton of expertise in a non-athletic subject that they do not get paid for (sci-fi, fantasy, video game). Geeks have a one-track mind. See: A Star Trek convention Nerd - Someone who has a ton of expertise in a non-athletic subject that they do get paid for. See: Stephen Hawking Squint - Someone whose job is in the lab sciences field, who actually spends their day squinting at things. See: Louis Pasteur Which one are you?

I dislike ‘talk’ – small or otherwise – that is intentionally cruel or willfully mean. I dislike ‘talk’ that is ignorantly arrogant or pridefully wallows in ignorance. I dislike misogyny, including spoken/written under the guise of joking banter. No, I don’t hate small talk. It’s not a binary choice for me. My response/engagement/tolerance is highly situational. Some small talk can be tedious & superficial … otoh, it can also be silly, playful, and fun. It can establish ‘inside’ jokes that are between two people or a small group that increase group/team cohesiveness and function. I like flirting and intellectual sparring -- both of which some might consider small talk. Small talk can be beneficial – I struck up a conversation with a couple in 2001 when I was in Chamonix, France. It started with small talk. Two years later, my trekking partner & I stayed with the wife while we were in Bangkok. She even enlisted one of her nephews to be our tour guide. He didn’t seem to mind (too much) escorting around two young American women. Yes, I prefer substantive conversation. I prefer intellectually provocative, inquisitive conversation, even moreso, e.g., the kind of stuff that gets dismissed as “too serious” or “pointy-headed drivel.” I.e., the kind of stuff I respond to & write about over in Speakers Corner. At the same time, I can both appreciate the value of small talk and respect those who would prefer to not participate in either small talk or in (over)-serious conversation. Just my experience … your personal mileage may vary.

I'm guessing he's talking about the odds of it going inop during a life threatening emergency. Question; of the number of rounds you've ever fired, how many of them are rounds that you had to fire or your life would have ended? Obviously this is different for law enforcement and military vs others. I knew exactly what he meant. The fact you felt like his statement needed explaining only confirms he needed to read it again. When deciding on which firearm you are going to purchase for self/home defense, isn't the chances a particular firearm will render you defenseless when you need it the most one of the top factors on whether or not you will purchase the piece? Every cop I know carries a backup and that backup is a revolver. Food for thought. Oh and I have never had to fire my weapon in defense of myself or someone else. Thank goodness.

Also it's not the additional testing that is the problem, it's the cost of certification. My employer recently had to change the catalytic converters on his wife's Jeep Liberty. Unfortunately they weren't available from anyone other than Jeep thanks to CARB. $1,800.00 just for the catalytics. Out of state non-CARB approved were $400.00. After pulling some strings he did get the out of state cats and they proved cleaner than originals. The difference? The company was not willing to spend $150k for the certification. $50k per part number for 3 cats. And that certification has to be done for every year of the vehicle regardless of if two disimilar years utilize the same part numbers. In the end who pays for this? We do. www.FourWheelerHB.com

I'm a big time introvert and my extrovert friends often regard me as weird and anti-social because of it which is not true at all. I happened to stumble across an article that describes us introverts pretty well so I thought I'd share. http://briankim.net/blog/2007/10/top-5-things-every-extrovert-should-know-about-introverts/ Any other introverts out there in dz.com land? www.FourWheelerHB.com

That is pretty ripe considering pro gunners in USA seem to think that it is impossible to have a safe environment without guns. Most of the rest of the world seems to manage! Guns shouldn't need to be banned, people like yourself and most of the posters in this forum need to relise thast 1 gun is enough, they are not a status symbol, and more than 1 gun for every citizen in a country with more that 300 million citizens is absolutely reaterded. Just like Ford f250's are retarded, hummers for civillian use are retarded, the american dream of everyone having a 1/2 acre section with a palace and 4 car garage is retarded, un sustainable and the reason we are all (the world economy) in the shit right now. And you try to talk to me about ignorance, Isn't the above post an exceprt out of the book How to win friends and influence people ? www.FourWheelerHB.com
