  1. I'll try to be at CSS tomorrow about 6 PM. It is better to be lucky then smart
  2. Hey there! I'm one of CSS regulars and I live in Cary so I usually drive on 440 to Capital and US1 if you live anywhere near those highways I will be happy to pick you up on my way to DZ. My e-mail is dzenyat@relativity.com Yevgeniy
  3. Hey Eric - I'll be there today at 6:30 or something. lets take 206 and jump! yev
  4. Thank you Eric! Great pictures!
  5. Hey Guys! I will try to come after work to CSS tomorrow about 6:30PM. Anyone else wants cheep cessna jumps? Eric, I know you will! Yev
  6. Hey justaflygirl, I don’t want to question your decision to jump at those conditions (I was not there). Here is what I do if I have any doubts about the weather: I go to my DZO and ask him is it ok to jump, then I talk with very experienced instructors and if I have a single “no” or “be very careful” from any of them – I stay on the ground. This is my responsibility to ask questions and I don’t expect anyone to pull me off the load
  7. I think this was Valeri Rosov with friends - they are very experienced skydivers/base jumpers :) very impressive pictures! I'll be at CSS about 6:20 - maybe couple loads on 206?
  8. Thank you Dawn!!!!! Dzenya Tarabukhin
  9. Dawn, Eric, you guys don't mind if i try this jedei sometime? Yevgeniy
  10. I recommend taking Scot Miller Basic Canopy Control course.
  11. Hi Marion, thank you so much for this video! It goes on my “crash collection” tape!
  12. That is true, but it can help (to the certain degree) with cutaways. Some people freeze up and never pull reserve. My last cutaway was more then 1000 jumps ago. I practice EP every time before I jump but that does not make me an expert. I think this is a good reason to keep AAD.
  13. Some people think that AAD is there to open your reserve if you "forget" to pull your main There are many other situations I can think of when it can help. I usually have my AAD on.
  14. Just have a comment about pull out and "pilot chute hesitation". About a year ago I started having those and the reason was "old" pilot chute. That was F111 PC with probably 500 jumps on it so it was still in very good shape but once I changed it all my problems were gone. So for me new PC is very critical when jumping pull out.
  15. Here is how I deal with it: 1. I'm paranoid about my PC (I triple check it is uncollapsed). I check kill line every time I packed it and I replace PC ~ every 500 jumps. 2. I jump pull out so I always pull the pin myself. 3. My main is properly sized for container (to avoid container lock) Worked so far for me
  16. Thanks Dawn!!! I'll see you this weekend! Maybe even today after work. If there is anything I don't have to worry about - that is my gear! You guys take great care of it
  17. I jumped once with my friend who has same canopy model and size plus he is just a little lighter then me. So basically we loaded equally the same canopy of the same size. The only difference was that I pulled slider all the way down (loosing chest strap too) and he did not do that. I was very surprised how my canopy over performed his. We tried to fly side by side and in clean configuration (no breaks) he was sinking down.
  18. How AFF course is going? Did they do any jumps already? Looking at the weather I doubt that
  19. There is a cutaway handle in a form of "soft" loop. Some girls are using them and like them a lot. I'm thinking of getting one of those for myself :). Proper gloves could help but it is hard to keep balance they are ether too bulky and big or they are too cold :(. I also very happy with newer sun path risers, they have excellent toggle keepers.
  20. What funny is that when you actually will get all that “experience” and “jump numbers” and will be asked to participate in virtually every big way at your DZ - you probably will loose interest in doing them
  21. I think it is normal to be nervous if something unusual is about to happen. Couple weeks ago we were doing hop & pop "a little lower then 3000 ft" and I felt nervous, but then my friend opened the door, screamed something and jumped out and I did the same – that was great!
  22. i'm a proud owner of WHITE rig ok, it has a little red on reserve flap. I'm extra careful with my landings too.
  23. 3 loads on Saturday... Not bad at all!!!
  24. Big Grippers works great for exits and some blocks plus they make you look professional
