Hey guys, anybody will be jumping around 6PM today or tomorrow? let me know! yev
-
Cross country on a sunset - i'm in :) (or on?)
-
Congratulations Janine! "A" license - is a license to jump! I'll be jumping Friday at CSS. yev
-
Congratulations Guido! I have a question to everyone: how many "points" you got on John Lyman questionary from last newsletter? I got 39 ... who has more?
-
>And I dont see how a D-license jumper without >cutaways and without RW skills teaching someone >is any different. my point is that you can not teach something that you only read about. > Moreover, I dont think a person with 100 jumps >and lots of personal coaching and tunnel >experience and canopy coaching is going to be >doing a bad thing. I have not seen 100 jumps canopy flight expert (no matter how much coaching he or she had). I think you need at least 5 times more jumps to plan exit point, holding area and landing pattern for student with huge canopy if there is any wind at altitude. >Neither system is capable of weeding out bad >skydivers--we need to change the coach course-->and then B, C, or D license jumpers can all go >through it and prove that each person has the skill >to fly and the skill to teach according to their merit->-not to their jump number and not their license. I’d say let the people decide where they want to pay their money. I’m sure they will choose professional training. There are bunch of courses in RW, FF or CC with very good references.

We did some "very strange" 4way yesterday B,O,F - i think we did it like 10 times At the end I really had troubles trying to remember next point!
-
Yes I'll be there Sunday for sure!!! See you at CSS!!!
-
Hey Brian! are you going to be at CSS?!!! yev
-
Get on a 4way team, go to wind tunnel with good coach... if all that won’t help then learn how to swoop (please be careful with that one).
-
I had canopy collapse at 150ft on conventional design and switched to air-locked canopies. I did not have any problems with turbulence ever since. I’ve done many (well over hundred) downwind landings at 15+ mph (not recommended!) and I have complete trust in Big Air canopy design. Thanks Brian!

>One more thing... We hope to coordinate a >weekend of beach jumps at coastal this spring. I would go, but we need a day with light winds. Last spring we went there some guys jumped at 30 mph - very impressive! I wish John would have gone downwind, then he could probably cover entire airport on landing

i'll be there :)

Misrouted Cheststrap – How to survive?
JumpRu replied to AFFI's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Response you getting sometimes, after you catch stuff like this is really priceless. I was visiting one DZ and it was only 3 of us in that 182 so I saw a misrouted chest strap on a jump run, point it out to the guy, he looked at it, routed it correctly, yelled something like “thanks dude!” and jump out. -
Hey Darin! what happen to you man? I hope you feel better! yev

Does Front riser pressure get less with higher WL?
JumpRu replied to Viking's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
there are exceptions: jumped KA 120,107 and 97 from all 3 - 120 had lightest front riser pressure :) -
Thanks for the story! It remind me my first years in sport
-
well, my sabre 150 folded in half on final once and it was not all that windy (less then 14 mph). With airlocked canopies (sam120 and jedei105) i feel very confident that this won't happen again.
-
we took out F (open accordion) out of KA, 3 out 1 in. Inside center takes point and outside center. Good luck!
-
>Could someone explain what this funnel slider is. i think you are talking about "pocket slider". That is just a little strip of fabric along front side of your slider. Easy to put on and take off :)
-
The fact of the matter is, the sabre is a great flying canopy. It requires a little more attention during packing. Once you learn this, it can be a great opening canopy. ************************ is that why you have Specter 150 in your profile?
-
shoot downwind :)
-
Winter Neumann + thin rubber gloves (they like medical or something) under them seems to work in North Carolina.
-
not again! I think i'm one of very few people who actually experienced hangover inside wind tunnel
-
Hey Brian! see you in one month in Orlando! Yev
