Be careful...Texans are a very proud breed! And I don't live out in the country, either. I live in Plano, which is a suburb of Dallas, and everything I need (mall, supermarket, gas station, etc) is within 5 miles of my house. The DZ is a little drive, about 30 miles, but it's a nice drive, and it's definitely worth it. We have a pretty big DZ here... ***************************************** Blondes do have more fun!

Of course I worry about him, but I don't let it eat away at me. And he worries about me, but I think more than anything that's because I'm still just a student, and that makes him nervous. My biggest issue (which is really silly) is knowing that he watches me land, because I'm so new to this that I get embarrassed over the fact that I can't stand up a landing yet. I don't worry about him nearly as much as I would if he hadn't been jumping for 9 years already! ***************************************** Blondes do have more fun!

Yes, unfortunately, money is an issue. However, when you think about it...I used to go to the movies 2 or 3 times a week, and out to dinner 2 or 3 times a week, and at work, I would go out for lunch every day. When you add that up, along with shopping sprees and other nonsense, then you can probably come up with enough money to jump at least every couple of weeks, until you get an A license and don't have to spend a FORTUNE on every jump! Trust me, I've been totally broke since I started, but the faster you pay for it, the faster the money starts to show back up in your bank account, and I think it's worth it!

A "whuffo" is simply a non-skydiver. Trust me, it's not a stupid question, I only know because I've heard the reference about 500 times in the last month, since I made my first tandem! ***************************************** Blondes do have more fun!

Welcome! I just did my first two AFF's on Monday, too! Glad you enjoyed it; it's probably the most fun I've ever had. Hope you keep it up!

No, they aren't. But I know a girl who just graduated last year and came home to good old Wylie about 6 months ago, and all she can talk about is how great A&M is and how hard it was to leave. If I had gone to school, I would have gone to A&M. But I had other plans, so now I'm going to community college part-part time for a certification, which my company's paying for.
