it was a joke

Isn’t paying billions of dollars to countries to get them to do what they would otherwise not do, a bribe? ;-)

You are correct, I should have said, the trade war is slowing the growth rate of China’s energy demand. The point is that China’s reversal on renewables has nothing to do with our current trade dispute. Do you really think if we dropped the tariffs and INCREASED the demand for Chinese goods that their energy needs would decrease?
-
And that is why China is INVESTING in fossil fuels, they simply have a greater ROI than renewable. BTW our trade war is SLOWING China's economy and REDUCING its need for energy not the other way around.
-
Put another way, that is what happens when China makes a sober assessment of its future energy needs and drastically cuts investment in renewables and goes “all in” on fossil fuels. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&ved=2ahUKEwjPgPyTmojmAhWtxVkKHcN6AcwQFjAFegQIAhAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.technologyreview.com%2Ff%2F613938%2Fclean-energy-investments-are-plummeting-bloomberg-bnef%2F&usg=AOvVaw1VXOin9fRBq8O_9Z7LePm8

The US has reduced CO2 emissions more than any country on the planet, by far. (Thanks to fracking and natural gas) We are leading by example.

https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/china-was-the-climate-champion-of-paris-now-its-doing-a-complete-u-turn looks like the green new deal is dead in China as well.

I'm not so sure. The first time, I wrote in Mickey Mouse (because I couldn't spell Condoleezza Rice and thought that a fictional cartoon rodent would make a better choice than either candidate) but Trump has delivered on taxes, fossil fuels, deregulation, judicial appointments and confronting China. I personally think the man is a loathsome idiot but his policies are largely conservative boiler plate policies. In a perfect world Trump would be impeached and removed from office and Pence would take his place. Otherwise I will probably be forced to vote for him this time around.

Not only the pharmacies, the taxi drivers as well.

One of our instructors/videographers works for that department as does one of our former pilots.

I was referring to regulations that create barriers to entry and quash competition.
-
The vast majority of the certification process was done under the Obama administration. Trumps appointee was not emplace until June 2017, three month AFTER the certification by the Obama lead FAA.
-
That is why the regulatory state is so nefarious, the big corporations have a seat at the table and help shape regulations in a way to eliminate the competition.
-
I never said I had a problem with it, I just said it was ironic. Don't you agree? BTW if you ever have the opportunity to make it to State College (Penn State) look me up. I will take you to the range for a day you will not forget.

No coal will be more. It will be producing more electricity world wide than the aforementioned unicorn farts.
-
It's ironic that a state so anti-gun is home to an industry which glorifies them.

https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/forget-green-new-deal-america-now-energy-superpower-95476 According to the experts, less than 9% of our energy will come from wind and solar by the year 2050.

Can you have this in California? It transforms from an oddly shaped collection of metal and plastic to a 31 round “freedom bean” launcher in twenty seconds, (just three if I leave the optic on the bottom rail and use the iron sights)

That's not a law that is a bill

We didn't import them as much as Europe exported them. As far as the folks who want cheap labor to tend to their gardens, you must be talking about the Democrats, I will remind you, the Republicans nominated a build-the-wall-and-keep-them-out candidate.
-
What are you talking about? The wealthiest nation on the planet does not have the ability to gain operational control over its southern border. And just who are "the rich" you speak of?
-
Limiting immigration is difficult because the poor are not going to put up having the growth of their wealth limited. After all, that is why they are coming here.
-
The key to controlling the population is economic development. Developed countries have indigenous growth rates of nearly zero.

I wonder how, looks like time is running out for a transatlantic sailboat trip. I'm going to guess it will involve some sort of "carbon offset" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_offset#Controversies
