I'm still recovering from Bay to Breakers, so this will be short and sweet. Congrats to Connie Krusi on her victory in Saturdays CPC @ Byron! She said she found her groove at the last comp in Davis and definitely proved it this weekend! Thanks to all who competed, judged and helped out. Full results are attached. 1 Connie Krusi 2 Adam Teeling 3 Rob Pooley 4 Andy De Mars 5 Thom Van O's 6 Renaud-Roland Hubert Blog Clicky

Canopy Piloting Circuit #3 is this Saturday, 5/20 in Byron, with Sunday 5/21 as a weather day. We are looking to be wheels up @ 10am this time, so please be there by 9:30am so we can get the groups organized. Please bring $100 cash ($150 if you have yet to register w/ CPC for the season) for the 6 Hop and Pops. As usual, we are looking for judges. Let me know if you can help out. Meet #4 in Davis has somehow landed on the same weekend as the American Boogie. (Oops!) Probably not going to work! I will verify a new date this weekend (probably July 1st). Please let me know if there are any conflicts you may have. Cheers! Andy D Blog Clicky

Meet #2 of the NorCal CPC is this Saturday, 4/29 at Skydance in Davis. I want to have wheels up at 9am again. Please arrive ready to jump at 8:30 so you can fill out any necessary paperwork, and so we can organize the loads and groups. It will again be $100 for the six Hop and Pops. Please bring cash so we can keep manifest happy. We will be setting up the course on Friday... rain or shine this time, dammit! I've been driving around with dowels and all colors of "noodles" in the back of my car for more than a week! We had great people judging and filming at the last comp, and we need some again. We will need 3-4 judges. We will also need 2 cameras for the speed course, and only 1 for the accuracy and distance course gates, as well as someone to operate them. Please let me know if youself, or anyone else can help us out. There were 11 competitors at the first Byron meet, and I would love to see some more come out for this one. Spread the word! More to follow. Andy Blog Clicky

The first meet of the 2006 NorCal Canopy Piloting Circuit is complete. Thanks to all who came out and competed. The weather agreed all day... even the wind (mostly) and the comp went off without any major issues. A bunch of folks chipped in and helped us get this event off. Thanks to the judges. Dave, Tom, Mark, Vic, and Ryan. Thanks to Sandi, Connie and Farrah at manifest, and everyone else who helped out. Also, thanks to Steve for taking the Salmon award off my hands before the pond dries out for the season! Meet 2 will be at Skydance in Davis on 4/29. Oh, yeah... here are the results! As the fist event quickly approaches, we have finalized the dates for all five events. The dates are as follows, with the Sundays reserved as weather days: April 8-9 Byron April 29-30 Davis May 20-21 Byron June 24-25 Davis July 22-23 Byron Each event will be $100. That will include 6 hop and pops, supplies (blades, noodles and other goodies for the courses) and the remainder will go towards prize money. You will also have to register with the PST. You will be able to do this at the first comp. This is from the PST website: "Membership will consist of a $50 annual fee, which will go towards CPC membership services and the CPC Championships. Membership will allow the member to compete in sanctioned events, training camps and to have their competition points tallied for qualification into the CPC Championships. Non members will pay an additional fee of 15.00 for competition and annual dues will not cover entry fees or jumps." I would like to start getting a headcount for the first event, so we can organize start times, aircraft, and pilots. Also people interested in becoming judges, please let me know. Lastly, I would like to get in touch with some Davis locals to help out during the comps, and also set up a time in the next few weeks to map out and set up the courses. More info, course layots and rules can be found at http://www.canopypiloting.com/cpc.htm More updates to follow... Thanks! Andy De Mars skydivexxl@yahoo.com Blog Clicky
