  1. Tommy D. "Up at the crack of noon." You and GFD were two of my first friends at Byron. You had very subtle sense of humor, but I usually got it. You're the only guy I know who had a coozy for a growler. The look on your face when I'd walk out to the plane, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, with a 250lb tandem student was priceless... "Thanks for the drag, dude!" To know Tom was to love him. I will miss my hello and goodbye hugs every weekend. I will miss a lot more about him, too. And, damn... I just started to understand all the mumbles. Fly free, Tom. I'll see you on the other side, too. Say hi to Cliff, Shannon and the rest for me. Love you, brother. Andy Blog Clicky
  2. I heard ALL about Cliff from Aviva before he even showed up at Hollister. Our relationship was not ideal, but we respected each other. We disagreed on pretty much everything, and never shied from a debate. But when the day was done we'd cheers, tip our drinks, and have some laughs. Thanks for the jumps and the friendship. Thanks for teaching my ill-fitting ugly green and purple Flite suit how to fly! My thoughts are with you, your friends and family. Fly free, Cliff. I'll see you on the other side. Andy Blog Clicky

  12. Thanks to all who came out and competed! We had twelve pilots in all, five flying crossbraced and seven flying 9 cell. The breakdown is attached as a .pdf below. 16. Here are the final details: Bay Area Skydiving. Saturday 10/28, 9am sharp. $100 cash for six jumps, no CPC registration. There will be medals, prize money, and 50% off certificates for the top pilots. Please be on time so we can organize groups and exit orders. Limited # of 2006 NorCal Classic t-shirts will be for sale (all proceeds go towards prize $$$.) Looks like we will have a pretty good turnout, and great weather. As usual, we will also need some volunteers to help with judging. CPC rules will be enforced (helmets etc…) See the official rules at http://www.canopypiloting.com/cpcrules.htm and http://www.canopypiloting.com/home.asp?ItemID=488&rcid=97&pcid=95&cid=97 and for the “weight rules”, http://www.proswoopingtour.tv/WCS.pdf Email me with any questions, Andy De Mars SkydiveXXL at Yahoo.com Blog Clicky

  20. The best advice I've gotten was to NOT "try" 270's until you have perfected the 90. You should be at your setup point at relatively the same altitude every time. There is no rush to nail a 270. A good looking safe 90 is ALWAYS better than a janky, sketchy, scary 270. IMHO. Blog Clicky
