Hey quit yer damn bitching! The percentage of money that goes towards the beer in the boogie fee is usually like an extra dollar or something. As for the rest of it, I always thought a boogie was a way for the dropzone to say thank you to the people that give them all their money all year long and also to create a nice big buzz about the dropzone, get some publicity, etc. so more people will come visit. A lot of the times things get donated anyway. Paying an extra grand (or whatever it costs to bring another plane in, I really have no idea) shouldn't be such an ordeal. If you want to throw a big boogie then do it. Especially when all your locals are going out of their way to get their friends to come out and so many people are donating their time and effort AND money to make it big! I don't see why it's so hard for dropzones to help each other out too. We're all in this sport because we love it. Sure making some money off it is great but if it's at the expense of losing your locals is it really worth it? Sorry, didn't mean to rant.
