He needs to try living with them for a while. That will make a believer out of you

Did a word exist in ancient Hebrew for kill, separate from the word for murder? Do you have a reference? Yes, at least that's what some of the ancient Hebrew experts think: http://people.ucalgary.ca/~elsegal/Shokel/001102_ThouShaltNotMurder.html This came up in conversation with a friend over here who really is a Hebrew language expert and she gave me a similar explanation.

Yeah it's a RRA 7" pistol upper I had trouble with. I didn't mess with it much. It didn't run worth a damn on my M16A1 lower. Maybe it's just a matter of tweaking the gas port or buffer weight. I'll give it another shot when I get home I guess. I'm really not sure what a 7" barreled M16 is good for anyway. You would probably be better off with an UZI
-
Yeah I guess we're on the same page. I just wanted to point out that the original design wasn't without merit. Back then people were using Sten's. How 40 years later they managed to market and sell it as a 11lb 9mm pistol is something else entirely. Those 16 inch barrels are hilarious as well. I used to own a UZI SMG and it was a decent gun, very controllable, but once I got a hold of an HK...well I've never missed it much. Oh, and I'm not talking about full size UZI's at work (or the IDF). Private security here uses the shit out of the mini's. They are actually not bad SMG's but they are mostly just for show where I'm at. I think the mini SMG was by far the best of the UZI family. The IDF seems to have moved on to short barreled M-16 variants and TAVOR's. I've seen what looked to be 7 inch barreled M-16's over here and I would love to find out how they got those pistol length gas systems to work....I can't.

Piece of crap #1 kinda looks like it has an auto sear pin, pic is too crappy to tell for sure though.

"I owned an UZI back in the 80's... The biggest dumbest -imho- ever design... an 11 pound 9mm pistol." The full size UZI was designed in the 40's and it is an SMG not a pistol. It was designed for controllable full auto fire, that's not something a pistol can do. At the time it was more compact and controllable than just about anything else out there. It is a bit outdated now but still holds it's own in subgun matches. You won't see them here in Israel anymore but you do see the mini versions a lot with private security guys. Where I work they use them to keep papers from getting blown off of desks and to save your seat in the cafeteria when we go back for seconds. The semi version sold in the US is a dumb idea.

Images Show Devastation at Iran Base After Blast
sammer replied to wayneflorida's topic in Speakers Corner
Do you lose any sleep over the prospect of Iranian missiles making it to Israel, igniting retaliation, possibly nuclear, and starting WWIII? No. Iranian's can't even fuel a rocket without blowing themselves up. I look forward to them playing with nuclear bombs Oh yeah, just in case you didn't notice Israel is my neighborhood. -

I wouldn't discount the accident theory. If you've ever worked around these people you would be surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often. I don't loose any sleep over the prospect of Iranian rockets making it to my neighborhood. -
they do that shit in the UK everyday. only they hit you with a stick. wake up dick. where the fuck do you really live?

He wasn't. He was arrested because they were delivering the stuff to Al Qaeda groups in Afghanistan so they could stay warm while they were blowing up my friends. Fuck him and anyone who feels sorry for him. -
Purchase of a new container: Safe downsizing in future 190->170->150?
sammer replied to mdrejhon's topic in Gear and Rigging
It probably depends on how comfortable you are packing. I did just what you are contemplating and it worked out great for me...but other people hated packing my rig while the 190 was in it. BTW: I got a Wings (W-13 I think), and put a Hornet 190 and a PDR-176 in it. I still have the same reserve, but have gone through a Crossfire-169 and now I have a Crossfire2-149 in it. It still looks good with the 149 in it. I probably would buy a smaller container if I ever go any smaller with my main though. Sam -
Yeah, I know....I was just making fun of .380's. I've got a couple that were given to me, but it never occurred to me that you could actually shoot stuff with them I still want to see some pics.
-
There's really only one kind of .380 Anyhow, we should still get some pics.

That's the other site I was thinking of... just couldn't remember the name. I think they are the same thing as ibuydigital though, their web sites are pretty much identical, as well as their prices. You will find the following message at the top of both web sites: Shop with Confidence! All products we carry are factory sealed, complete with all factory supplied accessories, and a full manufacturers USA warranty. I think you would be safe with either of these companies. I've never heard of "grey market" before, but I am certain that's not an issue with these guys. Sam
-
I have bought from ibuydigital and I don't think they are "grey market". I actually bought a PC109 from them last year. I got the camera 1 day after I ordered it. It has all it's accessories, and it has the normal Sony warranty.
-
Damn...I'm sitting in a hotel in San Antonio with nothing to do until Sunday. I knew I should have brought my rig.

Soldering the female connector is kind of a pain in the ass, and you need to give it a good coating of liquid electrical tape or something similar once you're done. Here are a couple pics of the helmet:
-
I have been using one of these setups since a couple of weeks after I made that last post. The camera works fine with the cable plugged in. I used a flush mount female socket (think it was from the same web page). I put the socket on the bottom front part of the camera cover (mine is a FF2 also). I usually don't take the camera out except to change tapes, so it works really well. I can just plug the sony A/V cable that's allways dangling from the DZ's TV right into the helmet and play. Keep your remote handy and you won't even have to open the box on the helmet. I'll try and post some pics of mine when I get home from work.

In most states you don't need to be a C3 SOT or have any kind of FFL to own an M16. You just have to save up 15K, fill out the papers and wait. No loss of rights, just a huge loss of $. The problem I have here is that law abiding citizens are having to pay 15K for 1K rifle due to the NFA laws. Meanwhile, it's a trivial task for a criminal to gain possession of an illegal but physically identical rifle. I don't really have any problem with the registration of title II guns, but the unconstituional transferr tax, and the ban on manufacture of transferrable guns pisses me off. I really don't see a problem with select-fire weapons in the hands of civillians. You just don't hear about NFA guns being used in crimes very often. Machineguns are not really much better at mowing down crowds of people, I think you watch too much tv and need to spend more time at the range. Sam

The average person can own "full auto military weapons", he just has to save up a little more $ now days. I'm not aware of this causing any problems to date. I don't understand how adding 3-shot burst to an AR, or allowing the barrel to be shortened 1.5" would make the firearm any more lethal. Full auto is fun, but it doesn't make a firearm any more lethal.

Don't worry. I am an engineer working in an office full of engineers and I could only convince one out of 6 that I wasn't a dumbass. I also had a high school physics teacher that I couldn't convince. I might be wrong, but I don't think so.

Kinetic energy is 1/2mV^2. You still have cars going 60mph, you just have two of them. If you can imagine a plane perpendicular to the velocity of the cars that is located where the cars impact, I think you would find both cars deforming onto the plane and the end result would be the same as one car hitting a wall that didn't move/deform. That is assuming both cars are identical and symmetrical laterally.
-
Yes, there is twice the energy to dissipate....but there are also twice as many cars to absorb that kinetic energy.
