Congrats on the new rig Omri. I'm jumping a canopy almost twice as big as yours right now. Your mom obviously didn't feed you enough growing up.

I just happened to come across a company that makes and sells tubes. It's at GotchaCovered. They're a little pricey though. Wesley -- I want to fly!

Anyone know if PISA has a website with info on their products? The link in the gear section doesn't work. Wesley -- I want to fly!

I think you were there. I heard someone say something congratulating someone about the new website but my girlfriend was quickly walking out the door encouraging me to hurry. lol I'll say Hi next time. I'll probably be back at Monroe next Wednesday or Friday once my finals are over with. Wesley -- I want to fly!

Wow...that is one of the most amazing stories I've heard. Good job on keeping your cool and not panicking. I hope I can keep such a clear head in such a situation. Wesley -- I want to fly!

That was a great first jump story. He even wrote about how impossible it is to truly describe the event. Wesley -- I want to fly!

I can understand wanting to make the soldiers happy but why not just increase all of the soldiers pay instead of buying a surgery for a few. I could understand if maybe the surgery for the breast implant came after a woman had breast cancer to give her normal appearance. The sex change, however, should not be paid for by taxpayers. I wonder if they would pay for a penis enlarging surgery.... Wesley -- I want to fly!

There's no way I could've done another jump the same day. I was too out of it after the first one. Hopefully that will go away with experience but damn that was an awesome ride. Congrats on your passing too and good luck with finals. Wesley -- I want to fly!

My finals will be over in a little over a week so not too terribly long. The KingAir was a quick ride to altitude. Not sure how long though because my mind was a little preoccupied. Wesley -- I want to fly!

I finally did my first skydive!!! I've tried describing the experience to my friends/family and there aren't words to explain the feeling. I did an AFF1 jump at Skydive Monroe. There were no clouds in the sky and the winds were around 3-5mph. I spent a good 5 hours at the dropzone before I could jump because they were low on staff Friday and a large group of Tandams got there before me. I didn't mind too much because the people were cool and I learned some stuff. I didn't get nervous really until I got into the plane. This was my first time in a plane smaller than a commercial airliner. At least we took the King Air up instead of the C182. It felt odd but strangely comforting being crammed into the plane with everyone else. There were 9 or 10 skydivers on the plane. There was me, my two JMs, my camera guy and there was a group of five that were going to do some RW. There might've been 1 or 2 other Skydivers on board but I didn't really notice. Then, one of my JM's said it was jump run. All of a sudden the 5-way was out the door and my Reserve JM went out. I went out after, then did my "hotel check" and up-down and we released. Amazing....It's almost impossible for me to describe what came next though I'm sure you all understand. It was true flight...an awesome feeling of weightlessness. Then I noticed one of my JMs giving me the coa signal, so I did my COA then my 3 practice pulls and another COA. I kept getting the "legs straight" signal so I guess I need to work on that. Then the camera man slid over and flew in front of me. So, of course I geeked the camera a little checking my altimeter occasionally. At 5k I waved off and pulled...then I saw one of the most beautiful sights in the world. A nice big canopy unfurlling above me. It opened right, so I played around a bit until my JM started giving me directions on coming in for a landing (over the radio of course). So, I did my landing pattern and came in. I flared at the right time but was unsure so I tried to do a PLF. After talking to the JM later he said I could've stood it up if I tried. My girlfriend then ran up, I gave her a hug and a kiss and then talked to the Camera some more. I couldn't keep a grin off of my face for at least an hour afterwards. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait until my AFF2 jump. I'm very glad I got the video as I've watched it at least a dozen times. Unfortunately I made a promise to my self not to do another jump until after finals are finished with. I guess I've written enough for this post...anyone else done thier first jump lately? Wesley -- I want to fly!

Congrats on the HM. It was a great picture so I'm sure you'll do good again next year. And, I think everyone likes ihop at 10:30 at night. I usually eat it after midnight though... Wesley -- I want to fly!

Wow...great stories everyone. I can't wait to jump next week sometime. I went to my AFF1 class but it was cloudy and rainy so I haven't been able to jump yet. These stories are making me want it even more. I'd love to jump over the beach one day. Amazing.

Wow, this is about the crazies thing I've seen yet

He had oxygen right up until they closed him up and then I think they pumped oxygen into the bag until it left the plane. Not sure about the oxygen when he was in the bag though. Wesley -- I want to fly! -

I'm sure a lot of the whuffo's didn't even realize that he had a rig on his bag. Even with that though, the stunt was pretty amazing. No way in hell I'd lock myself in something falling down at 135 mph. Wesley -- I want to fly! -
I watched that last night. Wow...very close call. Those two both got very lucky. Wesley -- I want to fly!

I tried to do a search in the classified area for "Triathlon" and it said: "Your search returned 0 categories and 15 Classifieds." But, it didn't display any ads. Wesley -- I want to fly!

That sucks. Why do you have to wait that long? Hope to one day see you in the sky. Wesley -- I want to fly!

Sounds like a lot of fun until the "Ouch." But, you'll have at least half of a second of a fake freefall. I'm sure it's worth it.

I called today and scheduled my AFF1 class. I tried to schedule it for Saturday but it seems they were full so I have to go for it Sunday. I dislike having to be there at 8am though. My brain doesn't even begin to function until at least 10:30.

Truthfully, this thread is all about the truth. Either you know it or you don't. Truth is not something that can be taught. Wesley -- I want to fly!

How often do you have to jump to remain officially 'current'? Wesley -- I want to fly!

Could yal explain different types of malfunctions?

It didn't sound to me like he was being nasty. I think he was just pointing you in the right direction then saying to ask any remaining questions afterward. Of course, I could easily be wrong. Wesley -- I want to fly! -
When I die I hope I never have a friend that says something like this. Of course, I doubt I'll ever chop my own head off though... Wesley -- I want to fly!

Oh my god....I could just imagine what my parents would think hearing that had happened to me. And my poor grandmother. She'd probably have a heartattack hearing I'd died with my pants around my ankles. I'd much rather die respectfully...or better yet not ever die but I doubt I'll get much choice in the matter.
