    Now that winter has set in (North east) we all drift to the drop zones that stay open on weekends. Would'nt it be nice for those DZ's to post an aerial view of the drop zone on their web sites. It would give a newcomer a little more confidence when peering down at a new terrain. Hey just a little food for thought

    Hey reg, Great job, I did pretty much the same,scared the snot out me. back to earth??? looked at my alti 3000', I dumped had a few line twist and made it back. There was a guy named Kip on the load who saw me flaundering as if I wanted to get back to the plane. He said "arch" I said yeah yeah I know but. "just watch the plane as soon as you get out till your neck hurts" best advice on exit I have rec'd. Im now stable in 2 seconds. We can laugh now but It's still a serious situation. We discuss this stuff here but you learn from your instructor. Also PLEASE read Frognog's reply... Great point!!! Enjoy & be well

    My son always would include me with his group of friends to do different things,biking,skiing,rock climbing... and then he said lets skydive. I said "cool" lets do it, and that was last year. Well my sons friends thought I was the coolest Dad around..now they say " whats up with your old man" "He's LIKE out there dude" They all could not believe that I pursued this. I went from a 45 yr old guy to a 25 yr old guy, but still keep my 45 years of the thought process that I didnt have @ 25. As for 2nd question, she left me for a wuffo

    Money is always the big nut when you start, just think about other $ that one pisses away. Just cram for about 6 months and then your one of us.     It depends on what you like to do getting out, run like a dog is about to bite you in the ass(skyvan) or fall out like a slab of meat while sitting in the door. I feel the only difference with them all 172,182 207,otter etc.. is the difference in time to get stable. The helicopter rocks and wait to do the baloon.

    what does one do during these winter weekends. I find myself checking my rig on saturday morning to make sure it's still there, going outside @ 4:15 with a beer hoping to see a low flying plane to raise the mean green, taking a ride on the freeway at 75 and throw my cigarette out of the window and think "relative wind".. Watching skydiving videos like a porn freak. What da f%^&. One trip to FL next month with hopefully cure me.

    when your new just do what I do(see my name) just bring beer, don't ask just observe who's reaching for what after the sunset load. I figuire at 55 jumps I am doing first's on just about every jump. When someone asks "is that the firstime" you say I got it covered bro. More over it's fun to buy beer at 9am and watch the people looking at you... look up and say " I hate milk with my wheaties". pull your pants down just enough to show some plumbers crack and smile.

    Think about the question..... an item that only cost about 8 bucks, will not hinder your skydive and in the event you needed it and didnt have one, lets just call you Izzy while you go in thinking about the $8 you saved. Hope I have put it to perspective. Be safe Brother

    I am always amazed to watch Willie (skydive long Is) swoop down barefoot and I would cringe with those flashbacks of the stubbed toe syndrome when it would look like it got hit with a shotgun..AAARRRG Willie is still the best. I would get concerned when I showed up at the DZ and he had sneakers on, hence put the rig away and have a beer. LMAO

    welcome, did my first jump with my son & his friends, I was instantly mezmorized by the fact that a human could literally fly. So I did another tandem a month later and then waited till the following year. At that point I said "just do it" I am 45 just divorced, no more mortgage, kids grown then it was all uphill. Life began at 45. Keep it up because it will make you a better person, more focused,aware in your everyday life. It makes you thinker to a great degree,so use it to your advantage.     great question,I am also new w/55 jumps. I just bought new equipment and opted for the RSL. I just listened to alot of people then made my decision This issue is a 50/50 and very good PROS & CONS. Well here is what I thought.... I have a better chance of having a brain fart then other more experienced guys. Please dont wait for the answer you want to hear, listen...listen...read...read. Try to think of your strong points as apposed to the weak ones then go from there. This question is like asking a lawyer for a yes or no answer..
