That sounds like my first 6 years of editing except I was using 2 Mini-DV cameras as the play and record decks. And I would jump to FCE, But you'll want the ilife package as others have stated due to getting iDVD which is very easy to use. And I use lacie external stuff (FireWire Drives) and have had no problems. Enjoy the Mac Scott

Yea that needs to be fixed, its an out action that needs to be re-associated. But what if I changed the sound to the roadrunner zipping out of scene?. I've always laughed when I read your signature Quade and never thought it was true, but it is (just kidding) actually I'm just the opposite of conservative and I see the world as a very colorful place just look at our canopies and rigs and jumpsuits, some people are literally glowing, and the clients get conservative if thats what they want but I like gaudy for my personal projects. So I guess I can be a conformist when I have to just not this time. And thanks for testing it out and the feed back. And Phree ill check out your suggestion for readyhosting and thanks for the info and ill see you guys soon I hope. And we still need more CDL drivers for the dropzone.com trucker ways at the WFFC this year. Blue Ones Scott

Hey Folks I'm expanding into building custom media players/containers for my and others skydiving videos or other types of media. This custom QT player Multi Player Test is a test of functionality and the video was more of an after thought, I just threw it together for the player. What this player basically does is to only load the videos (3 separate videos) when the appropriate links are clicked on and it seems to work pretty well but is still under construction, the content is video right now but it could be used for any thing like music, text documents, slide shows, Quick Time VRs or flash to name a few. Any comments as to how well it worked for you would be appreciated if you can spare a few minuets. The player will open on your desktop so you must have Quick Time installed on your system Win/Mac (the player skips the browser plug-in). I used QT but I could have use Windows Media or Real and maybe my next project will be in the wmv format for a change of pace. And my web host is starting to suck so I'm looking for a new host and what I'm looking for is 500+MBs of space and at least 25+Gig of bandwidth per month for $25-40 per month and if any body could point me towards a host service that fits this bill it would be appreciated. I think ill put some video of you tending your pea garden on my site, would that cheer you up?. Scott

Hey AndyMan The whole video codec wars around the world really cracks me up. The my codec is better than your codec (sounds like this forum sometimes Huh!) is the problem I think, instead of the major providers MS, Real and Apple working together like they promised to do they point fingers at each other going "your a Dick no your a Dick" sounding like Terance&Philip farting at each other instead of giving each other permission to add there codecs (Ram,Wma and Mov) to the others players, then allow us the end users to pick/use the player we want. Apple and Real would be the real losers here, I use QT but I would like to play Windows Media and Real Media in my QT player if thatÕs the format that someone else wants to use. And the recent legal ruling against Microsoft (UK) that does not allow them to bundle there player may be a start to getting this done?. At least Apple and Real have added the MPEG-4 codec to there players but Microsoft still hasn't like they promised several years ago, bill gates just can't seem to get on the bus with this cross platform use of codecs and he reminds me of the person with there hands over there ears humming "I can't hear you I can't hear you" to all of the content providers out there who are complaining to Microsoft to drop the proprietary crap and let them in. This is going to be going on for a long time and with more folks coming up with new codecs it can only get worse. *These are my opinions and my opinions only and are subject to change if you can find me and beat me with a dead hamster* Blue Ones Scott

I use Camera Heads (Bullet Cams) mounted on a stiff shoe for my shoe shots i don't see a reason to mount a PC or other type of camera on my shoe, except maybe a Sony IP model due to there small size, but the Bullet Cams offer the most flexibility with good resolution and safety for me, and there's little chance of breaking the Bullet Cam on a bad landing+you can get waterproof ones for that cool looking pond swooping shot. Scott
-
Check this company out KTNC they make 420 and higher resolution bullet cams, also several waterproof bullet cams for the pond swoopers, and I have some bullet cam shots in my WFFC-2003 and SGC-2003 videos for anybody interested (some hand and shoe mounted shots) Scott

Yea, Mac's are only 10-15% of all computer users in the U.S. so PC's are the norm. -Scott You get what you pay for.

When we drove thru Salt Lake city on our way to Hollister,Ca. the city was tore up getting ready for the Olympics and then the radiator blew when we stoppped for gas and directions on how to get out of town. then Godzilla showed up and started wrecking every thing and we were lucky to get out of there with our lives. I'm never going back thru salt lake city?. and a few folks who have posted to this question should check there math because they would have to be driving faster than 100+ miles an hour for quite some time to cover the distances they claim?. and we drove bruces escort from florida to ohio in less than 4 hours in the back of our Casa does that count?, we stayed in the car for the whole trip and never had to stop for gas LOL.
-
Me and Treeboy drove from Dayton,Ohio. to Hollister, California. about 2,500 miles in 52 hours. and that included both of our cars breaking down, a blizzard in Montana, and heavy snow in nevada and Utah, a stop at the Chicken Ranch and allot of other crappy stuff along the way. this made for a good video called 2,940 frames to california that ill put back on my site with the soon to be released California Sky video shot at Adventure Center Skydiving and lodi and davis. I actually won some thing, what was the prize any way? Scott

Dude you watch TV and other peoples Videos, Movies, TV Commercials. and there are Commercials or Movies or other peoples Videos that you like because of the way they edited it, or you like some movie effect or how they moved from one scene to the next (transitions). just make your video like you want it but there is a psychology to shooting and editing video and movies (i still do what i like) and more people will like your videos if you stick with the standards and most of the other posters to your question have given what i think is considered the standards. and ill stay away from the video compression issue other than to say get a site provider who Supports Quick Time, Real Media and windows Media so that you can make a choice as to what you like because most people have all three viewers and all three media types have there Pro's and Con's. -Scotty-

I'm sure ill be put in my place by some one else soon. Scott

Yea i like velvia to and all of my shooting was with film up to late fall 2003 when i got a digital Rebel but the season was over and i'm going to have to wait until spring to go fully digital. thats why my photo page is down because i don't want to spend the money getting all of my good stuff that i shot during 2003 converted to digital and i shot some great stuff at rantoul and a few other places last year but i don't think any one will see them for some time if ever. Scotty
