I cannot meet on Friday due to a prior commitment, but count me in on Saturday night, SFB!
-
Wishing you a very happy birthday, baby girl! Love you, Paige!
-
Hahaha...Lisamarie, when he said that it was a 45, he meant that was the European size of the shoe, not the price of the shoe!
-
Gia, you're so funny! Btw, don't feel bad because you know that I'm shorter, than you (...unless I'm wearing shoes...)

I agree with Mike MNealtx and JohnRich's posts 100%. Imo, JumpingJimmy's post, especially made in this thread, is an insult to Max and to all that he has been through and accomplished. I only answered his post, so as to take the focus/insult onto myself and not have this go to SC. I like Mike and John's bold answers much better. This simply isn't the appropriate place for that kind of discussion. This is the place to give kudos to Max.

No, the tie-dye designs on the sleeves are different. There is more of the darker blue dye used in a more dense fabric area. The streaking effect looks tighter and less aesthetically pleasing. (I don't like the look.) Today's young girls don't want to wear baby blue...sorry Dave! I promise not to hate you because you're beautiful!
-
I actually really love that particular tie-dye effect from the legs of that suit, so I am saving it in one of my design inspiration folders. That tie-dye would look beautiful as bell sleeve designs on a junior's knit top. The only thing is that I would change is the color because it's too overtly girlie for today's young ladies. Dave or anyone else, if you find any more pics of old-fashioned skydiver jumpsuits, can you please PM them to me. Thank you so much!

Well, I was trying to compliment him. My own ex went to Iraq last year and will be going back soon. He had reentered the miliatary after 12 years of being out. He also went to the Persian Gulf several times, when he was younger. It was a sacrifice for Spencer to be apart from his son (from first marriage), his parents and very much so from myself during that time, even though he was doing what he felt he should do for our country. It felt really difficult for myself, as well. I never thought that it would be that hard for me. I truly feared for his safety and felt such pain at not knowing if he was ok at times. I imagine that it may have been the same for Max and for his wife. That is how I meant my comment. It came from my own and many of my own friends' experiences.
-
Congratulations Max, that is wonderful news! Thank you and thank your gorgeous wife for all the sacrifices that you two have made for the country. You two are an inspiration to all of us.

Hahaha...no, the problem is that I have NO rig or main. I am renting what my home DZ has available in my size. I ideally need a 13" harness with cut-in laterals and very small leg straps, as I am narrow everywhere. I was jumping a 14" harness, and it did this when I arched. (See pic.) However, that rig in the pic is the smallest harness that I have ever had. (I've sold it.) The rentals would be unsafe. The only rig that will fit me anywhere near decent is a highly adjustable student rig at my DZ that holds a 220 main. The others were just too big and loose everywhere on me. Therefore, I jumped the school's adjustable rig with the 220 on my recurrency jump. I wore about 14 lbs. of lead, but still, the canopy was like a freaking boat. My landing was not good, although my body flying with Mel was so much FUN! Then, when I did my canopy coaching on Thursday (I wanted two days of coaching), we switched out the 220 from the student rig and put in a 190 rented main. To switch out the 220 and put in a 170 into that rig would not be a good idea. Today, I called Gia, and she called her rigger. I am borrowing her rig tomorrow (she is dropping it off on her way to an event in the morning), which has a 150. I am switching out a 150 with a 170 for tomorrow. I am so happy to have a solution for now. GIA ROCKS!!!

Hey everyone~ I am getting some canopy coaching tomorrow at Skydive Elsinore. It will be my third day back in the sky. (Last week, I became recurrent, after not jumping for about a year and a half.) Tomorrow, I need a 190 main. The one at the DZ's gear shop may not be available. (Yesterday, it had a very noticeable built in left-hand turn. It seems desperately out of trim.) Anyway, I was wondering if anyone at all would have a 190 that I could borrow for the day. I will pay to use the canopy, if I need to. I am ok jumping a Sabre 2, Spectre, Sabre, etc. Please post, PM or send me an e-mail at Vanillaskygirl_ro@yahoo.com. Thank you!

I'm with Casie. I "DENY" aka delete all of the weirdos, also. Still...if I think that I might know the person from skydiving, rockclimbing or my past artistic/design work, but I can't place the face, I will ask them how we know each other. I don't add them or reply, if they cannot tell me how they know me/have ties to me.

Wow, I almost logged off to go to an appointment and missed this thread entirely. Am I supposed to be wanting to do this? I will let you know right now that there in no way that I'm hitting that many posts this week. I'll be gone at the DZ beginning tomorrow morning, and I will be there over the weekend, too. Sorry to disappoint you.

What's with the puffy lips on every chic on tv ?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to cocheese's topic in The Bonfire
No worries, April! I do not even watch television. I agree again about Angelina, Pamela, etc. These people look much different up close in the light of day, rather than when posed in photos. "Hollyweird", for sure! -

Thanks for the info, April. I'm with you about Angelina's lips. I don't care what magazine's declare her to be "sexiest". Her lips are overblown, making her look like a blowfish. For the most part, I find Angelina's look and her, in general, to be quite foul. If I ever saw her smile or laugh, I might think that she was actually human or had some kind of heart/soul. -

Which one for my costume? Please post why.
VanillaSkyGirl replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in The Bonfire
If it's not cold, I can try the skirt. If not, I still want to look somewhat like a women! Andrea, I was so shocked at how dowdy I looked in that picture! WTH! -

Look at how disgusting and plain that I look HERE. That is a current picture of me in Elsinore's "Around the DZ" pics. See, this is how non-sexy and even non-flattering that I can look at the DZ. I cannot believe that I am even posting this pic. It's such a horrid picture of me...hate it! Anyway, I do NOT want to look this asexual. My body is always covered up so much. I felt that I looked like a young boy, after seeing that picture of myself. -

Hey! I can be one of the boys...sort-of. Anyway, the theme of the costume party is "Come As You Dare!" Just to give people a clue as to what the party is going to be like. -

I LOVE IT, GIA!!! (I'm sure that you can guess why I would be thinking about wearing a skirt this time!) You are going to look so HOT, girlie. Mike~ It's ok...I totally understand. I hope that you know that I'm not upset. -

No, no...I will be wearing the costume, my friend. I will be going to the DZ alone.
