What's standard altitude at your home DZ?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to livendive's topic in The Bonfire
Dave, Gia told me about the price and altitude that you are used to (not to mention the jump planes), and I spat out some curses from the shock. You poor dear... -
Scott is one productive and utterly cool dude. Congratulations LouDiamond!
-
(Eeek...I am rude.) Congratulations, Acme! I wasn't sure if you were already a pilot or not, so I didn't know to write congrats. I must have missed something in reading your posts, but I do think that it's pretty cool that you fly planes...VERY COOL!
-
Did HH ever get that?
-
*chasing after Viking with a cane* get back here, you con-founded kids!!! Edited to add: I am old, dammit! I'm old enough to be your...um, older sister, you punk-ass snot-nose Icelandic reject! Hey, where did the cane come from? (Good accessory to have on hand, I guess!) Btw, be careful, Acme girl. You read about what happened to RevJim when he chased after the kids... Let's have no more ER visits tonight, boys and girls!
-
I'm just so glad that you're ok! (...and people say that skydiving is dangerous! )
-
Awww...thanks Jim. That is so sweet. I read your story, and I am so freaking angry at those kids for being so rude! Do they even know you or your wife? I wonder if they saw you get hurt? How did you get to the hospital?
-
Yeas they would, some of them may even be able to let yu stories of their jumping career.
-
Happy Birthday, Bolas! You should get a little g-string with sprakly streamers on it to celebrate. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
-
Goodness, I hope that you are going to be ok. That sounds pretty serious, RevJim. Heal quickly, my friend!
-
That's really cute, Paige.
-
Dave, you changed your avatar back. I couldn't tell what you were doing in the last one. Were you drinking something?

Are skydivers and base jumpers a hornier group than others?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Really? hmmm.... I need to think about this statement... OK, I've thought about it... I've decided on elephants... have I ever mentioned I like elephants... Oh no, that reminds me of sex, too. See what I mean? Btw, I have some pictures from my trip to India for you (the top two) and one for Clay, too. Enjoy! -
Are skydivers and base jumpers a hornier group than others?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I used to think that was the way that I was, as well, but my BF has been in Iraq since January. I definitely am thinking about sex much, much more than I thought that I would. It seems like forever since I've had sex. August is going to be FANTASTIC... -
Are skydivers and base jumpers a hornier group than others?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Like when I am shy around you? YES! You seem to lose your ability to talk to me in person, but you have no problem talking online. (What is up with that, Clay? ) Yes, I am referring to situations like that. (I have also talked freely online about many topics that I otherwise would not talk about, so I completely understand!) I also think that the "sheepfucker" thing is one of the funniest parts of your onscreen persona...lol! -
Are skydivers and base jumpers a hornier group than others?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to ladyskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
It's hard to tell. People, in general, are all sexual beings. People online are often more bold with what they talk about. Once the sex talk begins, it opens the doors for everyone to feel comfortable talking about it. Also, people are more inclined to think or talk about sex, if they aren't getting enough. There seem to be a lot of single people who skydive or who post on DZ.com. It's only natural that people end up thinking or talking about sex frequently. It's certainly funnier to see two people, who would never otherwise flirt with each other, flirting online or talking openly about their private sex life, rather than to read personal attacks or watch tantrums being thrown in SC. Although that can be funny to read, as well! -
Safety issues with a full face helmet
VanillaSkyGirl replied to voodew1's topic in Safety and Training
If this person had practiced her EP's on the plane with her helmet on, she would have noticed that she couldn't see her handles with her full-face in place. Does this mean that she didn't practice her EPs on the plane with a helmet in place? Is she perhaps a newer jumper? Was this her first cutaway or malfunction? I am a small woman, who cannot see her handles due to breasts blocking them, not due to my helmet's visibility. I have had no problem getting my reserve out right after pulling my cutaway handle without the help of an RSL, and I have had more than one cutaway on different rigs. It's an instinctive reaction to pull the reserve handles asap after cutting away the main, which is why I asked the prior questions about the situation that you had posted. In any case, thank you for posting and alerting more people of this possible danger. -
Tandem Poacher? - Skyride like activity
VanillaSkyGirl replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Are you saying that it's possible to destroy your skydiving club in one weekend (2 days)? Does the other guy know this? Has anyone talked with him about it? -
Ok who's the wiseguy with the new username NoseFallDown
VanillaSkyGirl replied to Girlfalldown's topic in The Bonfire
Do you really jump at Perris? -
That's so wrong. Paige, I'm shocked that they made you wait to use one and didn't let Zeemax use one. When my ankle was broken, I shopped at Target specifically because of those scooters. (They're fun!) My only wait was if an employee had to find one for me because they were all visibly gone. There was always ONE that they would manage to hunt down and bring to me, even if they were in the parking lot or the back or whatever. I was always so grateful, and now I'm just stunned that you two had problems when you needed to use those scooters. It's difficult to shop in that condition, so that really sucks that you two had to go through that.

So I hit a Dump Truck - Healing Vibes Please!
VanillaSkyGirl replied to Casch's topic in The Bonfire
Wow, you seem to have an amazingly positive attitude about this. Heal well, and keep us posted as to how you are doing. I'm wishing you all the best! -
That sounds like some kind of cannine conspiracy!

Tandem Poacher? - Skyride like activity
VanillaSkyGirl replied to kansasskydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Yes, both DZs have so much to offer and both do well. The friendly competition doesn't seem to be too much of a problem. Kansasskydiver ~ In my opinion, this could be wonderful news for your skydiving club. Some of those tandems may tell friends who might want to do tandems with your club, or some of the tandems may want to become skydivers and go through student progression with your place. Also, some students who couldn't do tandems during that weekend, may want to do them with the skydiving club or may want to check it out. Be friendly with these guys and work with them/help them. They will most likely be receptive and not be trying to screw you over. You may make some nice connections that you may want to have during your boogies, etc. -
You should definitely go, Gary. Gia, her mother and I are going on the 4th of July weekend.
