  1. Ya Know, I grew up using Macs, and that is What I own. But for the life of me, I can't think of the name for that little squiggly apple key is called - is it the "command key?" Sheesh, I SHOULD know this!!! =========Shaun ==========
  2. CONGRATULATIONS and CASE OF BEER on your new Mac - Welcome to the Dark Side!! I hope this helps!! Select all = (apple thing)a Copy = (apple thing) C Paste = (apple thing) v By 'Apple Thing', I mean the Command key with an Apple one the Left-hand side and a Clover-thing on the Right hand side. One neat thing about an Apple is you Can customize your own shortcuts for these commands, but here are a few Key ones that come ready-to-use on your iBook. I use these ALL the time.. Close Current Window = (apple thing) w Close Program = (apple thing) q Give me a Holla if you have any questions!! =========Shaun ==========
  3. I'd be your greatest Disappointment, baby. I'll rustle sumethin up and send it to you. If your From Illinois, I'm Guessing we've bumped into each other at one point or another... =========Shaun ==========
  4. Short-Sheeting a bed is a true art form one must master in their youth. I grew out of it when I was like 6. Here is how it works... You tuck the top sheet under the head of the bed very taught just as if it were the sheet covering the mattress. you fold it in half and make it look as if the bottom is actually the top sheet. The result - a person tries to get in bed, they get their feet in about 2 feet, and they get stuck. It's pretty funny when your little. I Wish I could draw you a picture or something - I can't do a whole lot better than "top sheet" and "bottom sheet" =========Shaun ==========
  5. Quade, your response has really got me thinking about this. I have a knee-jerk reaction here. I agree that a fourth Element, the press, with their dissenting views, is absolutely critical to keeping and maintaining the amount of freedoms we enjoy. We have a wonderful system of checks-and-balances on capitol hill, with the three branches of government keeping themselves in check, and in a way, the press keeps the personalities in check - It's a beautiful system. Now what does this have to do with Michael Moore (MM)? IMHO, not a whole heck of a lot. To call this man a journalist, is an insult to the profession. I may not be a journalist myself, but as a Statistician, I know that his use of sources and his logic of causal relationships was absolutely appalling in almost all of his work. A journalist delivers either abstract or object-oriented information - MM simply draws his own conclusions and runs with them. Any legitimate news media organization, even the most bias, would not allow this propaganda to be aired. Hey, this my humble opinion of Michael Moore, and I could ramble off for hours about his inability to use basic quantitative logic... Bill O'Reilly makes an interesting point of this in his book, Who's Looking Out for You . As Quade pointed out, the Media is a valuable instituting that keeps our government honest. However, it's no secret today that media has become a Bias entity, in many cases it exists for the sole purpose of spreading certain (more often than not, Left-wing) ideas of what our government should be or how we should interact with our officials. IMHO, Media Today, as well as MM, has lost much of it's objective nature which kept the government fair in the first place. It's a Shame... =========Shaun ==========
  6. I have a lot of respect for Toshiba and their Laptops. The setup you have looks very good and the price is excellent, but for video editing and the stuff you are into, I can't help but think you might be happier with a G4 Powerbook or even a Duel G5 desktop. You need the best for video editing... =========Shaun ==========
  7. If I were in your area, I'd make you chicken noodle soup. I hope you feel better soon!!!!
  8. You're a Sweetheart.... Maybe If I'd a partied more and packed less, I coulda figured out which ones..... =========Shaun ==========
  9. Why would anybody in the right mind do this to themselves?? I remember back when the regular ol' Monster Burger from Hardees was big enough - you've got to be one of those little Japanese Eatting machines to tackle this baby.... =========Shaun ==========
  10. Who Do I find Sexy?!?! How about his one... Every single one of the DROPZONE.COM chicks!!! OH YEAH!!!! Not my greatest post. Next thread!! =========Shaun ==========
  11. I find Independence and motivation as Sexy. I am very attracted to those who have motivation to accomplish something, and have a desire to better themselves. This is tricky for me, however, Because I'm always looking at the girls that arn't looking for a guy. Meh, I'm young.. I'll figure it out someday.
  12. Ahh yes, I did this many-a-times. That and Short-Sheeting peoples beds were my childhood past-times.... =========Shaun ==========
  13. Beets... Yum yum. We have some canned beets, but the fresh ones are way better. I grew up on Beets. After my older sister lived in the Ukraine for a year or two, she came in and threw all our beets and beet products down the drain. Ha, We fooled her and bought some more... =========Shaun ==========
  14. Hmmm, Most of my childhood memories involve growing up as the youngest is a pretty large family. I have two older sisters, who roughed me up more than ANY older brother ever could. Remember the trick of tying a lose tooth to a doorknob and slamming the door? My sisters did that to me, but they first tied me to a chair so I couldn't get away. Hey, with a Mom & dad working full time, who else to raise lil' shaun? Thats probably why I am like I am now... =========Shaun ==========
  15. This thread is giving me Nightmares!!! I couldn't stand to lose my baby!! =========Shaun ==========
  16. I felt that way for A long time. I used Linux for years, & I eventually had enough of it and bought a mac. That's a whole other thread... My vote is for Safari. Very Similiar to Firefox in it's operations. =========Shaun ==========
  17. 0:3:0 Once again, not a very eventful weekend. I made three jumps - and I hope to make lots more this upcoming weekend. =========Shaun ==========
  18. Once again, I wasn't very clear in my first post. He made his first freefall the week before, and the debate was to have him do another hop & pop because of a turn he had. I keep using the phrase "First Freefall" in place of Hop & pop. =========Shaun ==========

    1st Snow

Not around here. We jump as long as we can find the runway. Since we don't have a snowplow, we usually sit out a few weekends during the winter... =========Shaun ==========

    1st Snow

Heck, if the runway is clear, we can make snowmen to swoop into - Hey, Maybe the snow doesn't suck so much after all!!?!!? =========Shaun ==========
  22. My apoligies, I wasn't as clear on this part as I should have been. Yes, Our dropzone trains our students hanging from the strut. This student was hanging from the strut, and instead of looking up, relaxing, and letting go into a nice hard arch, he had enough bend in his elbos to allow him to "push" himself off the strut. In in 7 previous jumps, none of the Instructors have seen him do this. I see this more often with lighter people who have a hard time leaning into the wind as they climb out - and they compensate by doing "pull-up" =========Shaun ==========

    1st Snow

Snow Pisses me off. Stupid snow. =========Shaun ==========
  24. It was absolutly beautiful, Bch!! I watched it from the ground, and it was creepy to see the pumpkin hit the ground about a quarter-mile away, feel the shockwave in my feet, then a second or two later hear the "WHOMP" of a pumpkin smashing into idy bitty pieces. I want to go and try to find the impact crater sometime.... =========Shaun ==========
  25. P.s. - This guy was shook up, and he took a few hours to himself to compose his feelings. After an extended lunch, he came back and wanted to get on the next available load. I was very happy to see him back, and his next jump was on me. I took him up again today, and he executed a beautiful PRCP. Right after the incident, I pulled him aside & we visited Instructor to Student about this. I let him know that this was a part of the sport, and I took him around and introduced him to all those at our DZ who have had similiar or even worse experiences while learning to skydive. I let him make the decision if he wanted to continue with the sport, and I'm glad that he understood the circumstances & made a mature decision to continue working towards his A-Lisence. =========Shaun ==========
